Today we're taking our first look at the amazing EPCOT Food and Wine Festival for the 2016 season. As you'll see there is SO much good food and drink to take in this year that we can't even fit it into one update. So guess we'll have to do it again soon. =) Written by Renée Girard (Click on any of the pictures below to see a larger version) We're going to be eating and drinking our way around the world today at Epcot! Signs at the entrance of Epcot with some food favorites There are several shops and kiosks around Epcot to do some shopping for food and wine festival merchandise You can get your own Food and Wine festival medal for $200 to wear proudly around Epcot The Chew will be back filming at Epcot once again this year Oooh, selfie stick at a Disney park First stop of the day is Farm Fresh for some loaded mac and cheese. We got the always popular pork slider in Hawaii but someone ate it before I could take a photo They are making great use of The Odyssey building again for one of our favorite stops, craft beer! We'll take one of everything, please! We're skipping desserts and champagne for now, but it looks like they have one of the priciest drinks at the festival. Islands of The Caribbean is a new booth for 2016. The wine and cheese sampler is delicious! Highly recommend getting this. We will definitely be stopping back at the chocolate studio later! The peanut butter and whites chocolate mousse with the festival Cabernet Sauvignon is excellent at The Chew Collective Loaded Greek nachos and spanakopita from Greece. Yum! The pretzel bread is an awesome addition to the cheddar cheese soup this year! The coffee stands have some seasonal offerings and specialty drinks for the festival too $1 coffee at Disney? Yes! The warm chocolate pudding from Ireland is always amazing! We love the cheese bread from Brazil! Another new item this year is the spicy hummus fries from Morocco. So good! Disappointed that a beer flight wasn't offered at Hops & Barley but we still enjoyed the Anchor Brewing Liberty Ale Pumpkin fans rejoice, you can get pumpkin spice funnel cake at Epcot! Escaping the rain showers and taking a break at the Chase Lounge. The Brewer's Collection offers an unadvertised beer flight, hooray! RIP Mexico margarita stand. Please be responsible at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival . Don't drink and climb. The Festival Center at the old Wonders of Life building at Epcot At the Festival Center, you can attend seminars, do some shopping, and sample wine and chocolate Handmade chocolate displays at the Festival Center: Ratatouille, Star Wars, A Bug's Life and Expedition Everest A look at a few of the booths we have yet to sample ... but we'll be back. =) And some more... it's pretty much impossible to try everything in one day at Epcot! Editors Note: Challenge Accepted!!! After eating and drinking around the world, it's time to go soarin' around the world. The bakery in The Land at Epcot always has some really cool treats! We stopped by the Inside Out meet and greet to say hi to Joy and Sadness Traveling around the world again for a few more things. Cooper's Brewery ale from Australia is yummy! Beef brisket and Sam Adams grapefruit IPA from Hops and Barley Los Lobos performing for Eat to the Beat Finishing the night with some delicious Belgian waffles! Attempting to wait for Frozen in hopes that the wait time is less than posted (75 min). Hey look, Sven is proud of his medal! Frozen Ever After was only a 25 min wait. I have to admit, we really love this ride! Here's a rare sight, an empty queue. Goodnight from Epcot! Had a great time eating and drinking around the world at the Food and Wine Festival! Related Updates: We know our updates from Disneyland are few and far between, but this week we're totally making up for it with two amazing updates from the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend (today and Friday) and an unbelievable update from the Walt Disney Family Museum on Thursday. We hope you enjoy Disney week (with a bit of Universal Studios Hollywood sprinkled in on Wednesday). =) Written by Renée Girard and Andrew Cunningham (Click on any of the pictures below to see a larger version) We are spending the weekend at Disneyland for the runDisney half marathon! I guess we won't be riding "classic" Tower one last time. It's a gorgeous day here at Disneyland! Having breakfast at Rancho del Zocalo, while watching Big Thunder Mountain trains roll by. It's the wildest ride in the wilderness! Not a whole lot going on behind the walls for Star Wars land yet. The band aboard King Arthur Carousel While Fantasyland is already busy, Roger Rabbit will be packed later but has no wait now. Love the fun Disneyland 60 photo ops still in the parks. Disneyland crowds are picking up. Time to stop by Disney's California Adventure! You can meet Nick and Judy from Zootopia at DCA. At WDW, they only appear in the parade. Are these the lights from Stranger Things? The sign lied, Tower is open! Radiator Springs Racers is currently down at Cars Land in DCA. There are a ton of popcorn flavors available in Cars Land! We'll have to check out the new version of this attraction, Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters. Hold on like ya mean it! Ready to take off on one of my favorite coasters, California Screamin'! Here's a tree, in memory of the Maliboomer. I love this view! I love this view too! I love this view most of all. The Cove Bar at DCA is always a popular spot. Lines start early! Gonna check out Soarin' Around the World later to see the west coast version. Racers is back open! 45 minutes standby and 5 minutes singles! Old school fast pass for Hyperspace Mountain tonight. We booked the Paint the Night on the go dining package tonight, since it ends in a few days. The food for the Paint the Night on the go package is really good, and discounts are also accepted. Time to make a stop at the Disneyland Hotel to pick up our runDisney goodies for the weekend. Ready to run the Disneyland 10k and half marathon! If pre-gaming is your thing, you can get a rum runner specialty drink before your race. The people at Raw Threads always have the best shirts, and they're super comfy too! Disney always does a terrific job at designing the medals and the Disneyland Half weekend is no exception Super jealous of those running the inaugural Disneyland Paris half marathon and castle to chateau challenge! Going for a ride on Hyperspace Mountain! Can't wait! Jammin' on the Backlot is the nighttime entertainment in Hollywood at DCA. We wouldn't mind if ElecTRONica came back Saw our first and final viewing of Paint the Night parade tonight The technology in Paint the Night is amazing! Several of the Disney princesses make an appearance in Paint the Night. And Olaf. The Toy Story friends on Slinky in Paint the Night. The final float in Paint the Night with sorcerer Mickey is exceptional. I hope this parade returns one day! Caught the Disneyland Forever fireworks after the parade, which we viewed at It's a Small World rather than Main St. The projections and fireworks from Disney films looked great on the building. The Lion King segment was one of my favorites. It wouldn't be a Disney show without "Let It Go" from Frozen. A fantastic finale for Disneyland Forever, another show that we're sad to see go. Goodnight, we'll be back tomorrow! Related Updates: Over the weekend Renée made a couple of trips to Disney to check out some of the new offerings at Disney Springs as well as finally getting over to EPCOT to check out Frozen Ever After. Be sure to check out her thoughts on the new ride and all of the amazing shirts you can find at Uniqlo USA. Written by Renée Girard Click any of the pictures below for a larger version Club Cool at Epcot is surprisingly empty. I doubt it's due to the new Coke store at Disney Springs but ya never know Frozen Ever After is currently at a 60 min wait. Much more bearable than 4-5 hours! We'll be back later with FP+ Should you be in the mood for cookies n cream funnel cake, you can get that in America at Epcot. Are selfie sticks still banned at WDW? If so, I'm impressed that this lady made it all the way to Japan in Epcot! Is this how you Pokemon Go? Too bad Spice Road Table at Morocco in Epcot is so empty. Really good food with a fantastic view! It's time to finally ride Frozen Ever After! With a 90 minute wait, at least most of the queue is indoors and out of the heat. Editors Note: She looks absolutely thrilled to be here Ready to set sail on our journey through Arendelle! Olaf and Sven start us out on Frozen Ever After, and I'm already impressed with the animatronics. Disney really did a great job with Frozen Ever After. I liked it much more than I expected to! The Frozen ride wouldn't be complete without a little song called "Let It Go" Maelstrom still holds a place in my heart, just because it's classic Epcot, but Frozen Ever After is very well done. After the Frozen gift shop, there's still a regular Norway gift shop. Not really sure what this means though! Next lets head over to Disney Springs where there's always something new to check out. Got a bite to eat at Frontera Cocina which was decent, but no seating for quick service guests The new HomecomingFL looks great, and also has a nice bar with a grab and go window. Will try that next time! The popular clothing store Superdry is now open The Polite Pig is opening soon DisneySprings and if it's anything like CaskLarder and ravpig it'll be delicious! The main reason we went to DisneySprings this time was for the new UniqloUSA store, and it is awesome! The UniqloUSA store Disney Springs is two floors of Disney and non-Disney clothing at affordable prices! I was surprised by the amount of Disney branded items available at Uniqlo The Disney Project shirts are fantastic, and I think the pizza design one is my favorite Disney Pixar shirts at UniqloUSA ? Yes please, I'll take them all! Some of the Alice in Wonderland shirts at UniqloUSA And let's not forget Star Wars! Another look at some of the Disney Pixar shirts UniqloUSA . There are so many, I want them all! Thanks again to Renée for yet another amazing update from Florida. Definitely could spend a few bucks in the Uniqlo store for sure. Related Updates: |
