August events at SeaWorld San Diego
VIEW ORCAS IN 360 UNDERWATER: The all-new DeepSeeVR: Orca 360 takes park guests on an underwater dive to virtually swim with killer whales at SeaWorld. Computer-generated imagery (CGI) is often used to tell these stories, but with DeepSeeVR: Orca 360, it’s our unique point of difference to be able to bring guests this close to real animals. This seven-and-a-half minute film uses newly-developed cutting-edge VR technology and stereoscopic 360-degree video to give guests the sensation of “being there” by creating unexpected moments of awe and wonder. Park patrons may also continue to be inspired by killer whales during the live Orca Encounter presentations daily. They may also enjoy incredible views of the park’s orcas as they swim, play and socialize at the Underwater Viewing window at the Orca Encounter facility. SEAWORLD STILL AGLOW WITH ELECTRIC OCEAN: SeaWorld’s new nighttime spectacular--Electric OceanTM—continues to transform the park’s landscape into a sea of glowing color and energy when the sun goes down nightly through Aug. 13, and weekends Aug. 19 through Sept. 4. During Electric Ocean’s Cirque Electrique, daring aerial performers decked in advanced LED suits mesmerize audiences, aerialists and acrobats bounce and fly in and over Mission Bay in a nighttime reincarnation of the popular daytime show, Cirque de la Mer. The must-see Cirque Electrique goes dark after Aug. 21. The all-new IllumiNight show submerges SeaWorld guests below the ocean’s surface to an electrified ocean floor with a radiant exhibition of sights and sounds that features overhead laser lights, live musicians and larger-than-life animal puppets that soar above guests. Other Electric Ocean festivities include projection mapping; a display of real bioluminescent organisms and microscopic algae that glow just like they do in the ocean; and a signature dance area that keeps the night grooving with colorful lights and a live DJ. Guests are encouraged to share photos of what’s “glowing on” at SeaWorld, using #SeaItGlow. For more information visit: www.SeaWorldSanDiego.com or call (619) 222-4SEA.
BEAT THE HEAT AT SEAWORLD: As temperatures and humidity soar in Southern California, SeaWorld® San Diego is the place to cool off and have fun. Guests can sit in the soak zone section at many of the park’s spectacular attractions. They can also take a dip in chilly salt water with playful dolphins or beluga whales also known as sea canaries. SeaWorld’s animal interaction programs allow guests to enter the water with these beautiful animals for an additional fee. Learn about cold weather penguins that live in the 25-degree, snow-filled Penguin Encounter® while on a Penguins Up-Close Tour. Of course there’s always the real wet river-raft expedition enjoyed on Shipwreck Rapids® and Journey to Atlantis® water coaster for thrills that will chill!
