It's finally here ... almost 9 months to the day since Colossus closed, it's had a baby, and it's amazing and glorious and all of the things that Six Flags Magic Mountain has needed for years. Colossus closed on August 16, 2014 and Twisted Colossus opens this Saturday May 23, 2014. Tomorrow we'll be at Media Day and then back at the park on Thursday and Saturday but in the meantime, let's take a look back at the last 9 months of construction. Click on any of the pictures below to view the individual update. Thanks for following alone over the last 9 months of construction. We've grown bigger than we ever thought possible over the last few months and that's due to all of your support. We are looking forward to hearing what you all think of the ride and meeting some of you this week. Don't forget about our meet-up on Opening Day. Click the link to RSVP and where we'll be meeting. Before we get to the great stuff from Media Day, a huge thanks to our good friend Joe for covering the event for us on Wednesday. Arriving at the park to check in for the event. Something new over behind those trees ... This statue is very cool. Any debate about a coaster vs not a coaster aside ... they did a great job on the ride and the area surrounding it. All indications are that the GP love the ride so far. Somebody on Twitter brought up that they should have named the ride the New Jersey Devil ... with the park being semi-local to Philadelphia, that wouldn't have been the best idea. Even Joe, as a Flyers fan wouldn't shake the Devils hand. But here's the mascot anyway. =) New Jersey Devil, Kristin Siebeneicher from Six Flags Great Adventure and former New Jersey Devil Colin White. Rider instructions ... keep your head back!! Sugary stuff + Looping ride = Look out below!!! =) These would last about a week Sponsored by KIA ... before you go bashing KIA, we've had 5 of them (including 2 now) and they are great cars. Joe's review of the ride: Hang time is amazing. More thrilling than I thought it would be. Below is some great B-Roll footage the park sent us for El Diablo. Because we don't get to cover Great Adventure as much as we'd like, how about some more pics around the park? This is an amazing shot. Knocking down the Sea Fort ... what's coming here, who knows. The great new entry to the Safari. Alright, that's going to wrap it up for our Media Day Coverage. If you've ridden El Diablo be sure to share your thoughts below.
