Last week we were invited out to California's Great America to check out the all new themed area NorCal County Fair! This rethemed area consists of the area from RailBlazer all the way to Drop Tower. And it looks fantastic! There is one attraction yet to come in this area that is scheduled to open sometime in July! We really hope that with all the recent fantastic work going on at the park that maybe it might be saved? This area really needs this park.  We’re here for the reimagined County fair! First Hershey, San Diego, now for event number three of the day!!!     New ride coming this summer   Friend of the site Billy with all his hard work done on the “new” Barney Oldfield’s Redwood Rally  The new 4 seater car along with the original 2 seater   It’s time to start our race   Signs for local attractions throughout the Rally     They had RailBlazer open for us   Grizzly was also open for our enjoyment!   And of course Snoopy is here   The games are open for us and we can win the prizes   New Drop Tower sign looks fantastic…and no line   Thank you again California's Great America for a wonderful evening. California’s Great America to open NorCal County Fair on May 26, a renovated section of the park that immerses guests into the Bay Area’s backyard. Plus, an all-new ride coming Summer 2023. SANTA CLARA, CA -- From hiking and rafting amid the redwoods, soaring above the coastline’s sandy beaches, cruising along wonderful scenic roadways, to enjoying the great fresh food and wine grown in its vast agricultural fields, Northern California has so much to see and do. NorCal County Fair will be just that: An all-new ride, a retheming of a beloved attraction, a renovated games gallery and a fully upgraded picnic area for more fun in the sun. Barney Oldfield Speedway gets a makeover and a new name! Barney Oldfield’s Redwood Rally will return with a fresh new-look and scenic updates. Drivers are transported back in time with cars replicating the earliest roadsters on an extended track, passing over a dozen billboards and signage of California landmarks. Kids take the wheel (with a little guidance from underneath), control the gas pedal and take their parents for a drive. It is almost a rite of passage for California’s Great America kids and parents alike. At NorCal County Fair’s refreshed Games Gallery, guests will discover a wide array of interactive games and activities that are sure to entertain the entire family. The new decor celebrates Northern California's rich history and culture, with nods to the region's famous landmarks and icons. Later in the Summer, anticipate the all-new Pacific Gliders. A WindstarZ that allows guests to be the captain of their own experience as they catch wind like a real hang glider. It’s the perfect ride for both children and adults to feel the fresh California breeze when soaring through the sky. A major renovation to The County Fair Picnic Grove delivers a relaxed, family-friendly setting for personal gatherings or large corporate picnics of up to 3,000 guests. In addition to wide-open dining areas, the Picnic Grove features a volleyball court and open green that provides additional recreational activities for groups. With a half-dozen semi-private picnic shelters of varying sizes, the Grove provides the perfect amount of space for groups to reserve for their outdoor dining events. Tuesday we got the opportunity to visit our friends at California's Great America and check out the all new South Bay Shores! We got up close and personal with the park’s newest area, and most importantly their new bar! Written by Andrew Cunningham    If you remember our visit back in early May, pictured below, there was new bar being constructed by the wave pool that was hinting at some new signature drinks, plus beer. But who is Jack Mackeral, and what is in his famous Pelican Punch? The suspense of it all   Well, if you had guessed that Jack Mackeral is a Scottish fisherman who hangs out at the bar in South Bay Shores... then please DM us some lottery numbers immediately  Beers currently on tap at Jack Mackeral’s Sand Bar - Great White by Lost Coast (4.8% abv) - Modelo (4.5% abv) - Pacifico (4.5% abv) - Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (5.6% abv) - Maybe we’ll see the return of the RailBlazer beer eventually, or some other new CGA beer?  Three frozen drinks round out the menu at the Sand Bar, including the signature Pelican Punch  Churro bar let’s goooooo  Pacific Surge, the new slide complex here at @CAGreatAmerica looks so fun!
