![]() The Holiday Season is here, and last night we were out at Knott's Merry Farm for our first holiday event of the season. It's another amazing year at Merry Farm, lots of great new things to see, holiday food and the parks merchandise game continues to improve. Let's head in and see!! Written by Gregg Condon Welcome to Knott's Merry Farm!! Sure, it's only November, and I'm usually a Grinch when it comes to Holiday stuff so early in the year. But as I said on our social media during the event, I didn't seem to mind this year. There's been so much bad stuff going on lately that a bit of Holiday Cheer was exactly what we needed. We hope you feel the same. No fog, but lots of pretty lights. And snow No more Dark Ride for 2018. Maybe next year they should have a holiday overlay to the Dark Ride for Merry Farm? =) Lots of great new decorations in The Boardwalk Obligatory construction update Really loved the decorations in Fiesta Village Be sure to check out our video from our visit featuring Snow and Glow and more around the park. We'll cover the shows the next time we visit. They also had a great opening night tree lighting ceremony. The park truly does look amazing all times of the year, but especially during Merry Farm Camp Snoopy was very colorful These swans got stuck Santa's Christmas Cabin is back where you can try a variety of holiday treats, and of course, hang out with the big guy. Speaking of Santa's Cabin ... let's check out some of the food Amazing Elote is always awesome This was interesting. I'm not a fan of sweet potato so I didn't enjoy it as much as others did. If you get one treat at Knott's Merry Farm, make it this. I need this recipe. Yule log. Not a log, I don't have a log. If I had a log not in the sense that you think I said I did. Some awesome Merry Farm merch available this year as well. May have to expand my closet beyond Halloween shirts. =) Thanks for checking out our Knotts Merry Farm Update. We wish you all the best. Don't forget, if you get cold, be sure to put your lamb over your shoulders. =) Related Videos:
Related Updates: ![]() Today we have our update from the always amazing "Knott's Merry Farm". This year the event is back and better than ever with a plethora of amazing shows, the always amazing food and of course everything else that makes Knott's Berry Farm one of the best theme parks in the country. Unfortunately on the day we visited it was a bit rainy so we opted to not ruin the DSLR so these are all iPhone pics, but we will be back soon and will get more pictures and see more of the shows. Written by Gregg Condon Welcome to Knott's Merry Farm!! The tree looks great in it's new location where the stage used to be. Merry Moo It was my daughters boyfriends first visit to Knott's (yes, ever) so we had to have some fun with Sad Eye Joe, who was pretty surprised it was his first visit too. Which obviously meant experiencing some of the classic Knott's attractions (shucks). ;) Christmas on the Calico Railroad is always fun Love the cold rainy weather We also had to check out Santa, who was on a break the first time we stopped by. You can get lots of yummy snacks too that were left behind by those Red Barn folks. ;) Brief interlude for a construction update Ooooooh ... Aaaaaaah ... New Boardwalk BBQ coming in 2017. No trip to Knott's Merry Farm is complete without seeing "Merry Christmas, Snoopy" ... On Ice. Feel free to check out the slide show from this amazing performance. It gets better every year. Unfortunately due to the rain "It's the Merriest Christmas Charlie Brown" wasn't showing that night. We'll be back soon to check it out. Rain at Knott's means that pretty much every ride was shut down, but it was awesome just walking around and enjoying the park. Would have made for some nice DSLR pics if I wanted to get it wet. ;) We checked out the caves in Camp Snoopy, I remember them being bigger. ;) Back in Ghost Town, all the lights are on. (we sadly missed the snow too) SANTA!! I KNOW HIM!! Love the tree, it really fits in this spot. Thanks to Knott's for having us out for Merry Farm, we will be back at some point over the next two weekends for more holiday fun, more shows, better pics, and obviously more food. This included a plethora of all new shows, events, ghost town citizens and of course, extended summer hours. Below we'll look at the shows and also a review of the Knott's Fast-Lane which was amazing to have on a busy Saturday. Pictures and Words by Gregg Condon We arrived at the park around 11:30 ready to check-in for the event After a quick ride on Ghostrider and the all new Iron Reef thanks to our Fast Lane, it was time for the ice show. Blockbuster Beagle!!! The Ice Show is always a welcome break from the summer heat. We decided to take a front row seat over to the side, which turned out to be a good decision as lots of action takes place on stage left. The dancers and skaters are, as always top notch. The story shouldn't be surprising based on the name, it's really a tribute to Hollywood using the Peanuts characters with a great mix of music and fun. All of the lead skaters get a chance to shine, sometimes multiple chances, which means the show runs about 35-40 minutes. Not sure if they'll cut some segments as the run goes on to give people a day off, but it wouldn't be the worst thing to cut it down by 5 minutes or so. That said, the talent on display is tremendous and as always, the show is a lot of fun. After the show it was time to head over to one of the picnic area's for a great lunch provided by the park. If you've never had one of Knott's picnic area buffet's, you are totally missing out. Then it was back into the park to put our Fast Lane to use. The longest wait we had all day was probably GhostRider at about 10 minutes but only because we waited for the front row. From about 3:00 to 5:30 we rode the following rides with minimal wait. This also included doing some shopping and refilling our souvenir bottle with boysenberry punch a few times. =) Overall we had an amazing day at the park, we missed a few of the shows we wanted to see due to just having fun so we'll have to be sure to head back soon to check them out. But if you are planning on going to the park on a weekend during the summer, you can't go wrong with the Fast Lane. It really does make you able to enjoy all the great stuff at Knott's with no stress. Be sure to get to Knott's this summer for the extended hours, new shows and apparently there are some new nighttime effects on Montezooma's Revenge. Unfortunately we didn't hear about them until we left the park for the day. But we definitely want to check that out. The park will also most likely be doing their 4th of July event this year, so we'll certainly share that information with you when the park sends it to us. |
