 BUENA PARK, CA – An off-road adventure, a new family roller coaster, a giant swing, and the carefree fun of summer camp bring so much to explore in 2024 at Knott’s Berry Farm. Today, the theme park released exciting details about its six-acre, reimagined Camp Snoopy set to open Memorial Day weekend. Inspired by the California High Sierras, Camp Snoopy is the place where the iconic Peanuts Gang made its first debut outside the comic strip back when it opened in 1983. The reimagined land will allow campers of all ages to become full-fledged Beagle Scouts as they explore new rides, new character experiences, new entertainment, a new dining hall, a new camp store, plus more seating and ambiance. “Experiencing first rides and first theme park moments as a family, is what Knott’s is all about,” said Jon Storbeck, vice president and general manager. “Our newly reimagined Camp Snoopy will allow parents and kids to ride and play together and be truly immersed in a summer camp experience right alongside the entire Peanuts Gang.” Camp Snoopy 2024 As guests cross into the world of Camp Snoopy, they’ll become official campers, joining Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang for the camp’s annual jamboree, a fun week of camp competitions and activities. They can begin their adventure at Beagle Scout Headquarters at the new Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister Coaster, where Beagle Scout Master Snoopy and his troop will take them on a new first coaster experience through the forest. Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister is the only family coaster that takes parents and kids up a lift hill and delivers a pint-sized launch, making this a first, big coaster experience for everyone. The best part is that guests get to ride twice so it’s double the fun and double the adventure every time. Rocky Mountain Trucking Company will be transformed into the new Camp Snoopy’s Off-Road Rally. Guests will jump into their own colorful four-wheel jeep, each themed to Snoopy or a Peanuts character, drive through an expanded track and terrain, and race to the finish line. In this fun and colorful road rally, riders will encounter funny road signs and obstacles to go over, around, and under. Success is measured not by speed but by how many course checkpoints can be found. Sally’s Swing Along is a new experience and offers a carefree break from camp life. Not your backyard variety, this super-sized swing set is big enough for the entire Peanuts gang! Kids and parents can sit side-by-side on the giant bench swing and glide 10 feet toward the sky, back and forth, giggling and getting a taste of the good life. Campers who want to test their Beagle Scout skills and earn their merit badges will be able to explore the great outdoors at the Barrell Bridge and Waterfall area of the camp. With a brand-new lookout terrace area, parents can relax up top or join in the fun down below as the kids navigate the bouncy, buoy-like barrel bridges to explore the cave and waterfall as Snoopy’s canoe teeter-totters up above. For a scenic journey throughout Camp Snoopy, campers will board the newly upgraded Beagle Express and take a locomotive ride through a series of camp vignettes, crossing over a covered bridge, and watching as Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang prepare for the jamboree events. They’ll see fellow campers along the route decorating their cabins for a “Best Cabin” contest and getting ready for potato sack races and more. It’s not officially summer camp until you sing songs around the campfire. At the new Camp Snoopy Theater, campers will gather under a giant, new rustic-themed theater, filled with log benches for seating that surround a large firepit at the base of the stage. The firepit will be lit in the evenings for special campfire entertainment. During the day, the theater will debut a new Camp Snoopy show and offer more shade and a larger stroller parking area. Meet-and-greets with Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Pigpen, Sally, Marcie and, of course, Snoopy will now be found throughout Camp Snoopy at varying times daily. Guest favorite Woodstock’s Airmail reopens in a new area called Camp Post Office. Guests will strap into their seats and once again soar into the sky and back down again with Snoopy's favorite feathered friend. And finally, rounding out the experience will be an updated Grizzly Lodge dining hall, with new décor and menu items, new family restrooms, and an immersive new Snoopy Camp Store with all the essentials needed for camp and then some. A couple of weeks back we made our visit to Knott's Scary Farm on the opening Sunday of the event. Our original plan was to visit opening night, and repeatedly using our Knott's Scary Farm passes, unfortunately life happens and we had to actually end up getting a refund for those passes. So I made what will likely be my only visit for 2023. Slightly off topic, shout out to the awesome Guest Relations Team at Knott's for all the help in getting those passes refunded. So let's head into the fog for an exceptional year of frights!  Where it all began. Right here. Chills every time.  But before we get into the scares, I was honored to take Clint from Thrillgeek on his first ever trip not only to Knott's Scary Farm, but his first visit to Knott's period.  We did the Boofet, and this may be the best addition to it. EVER!  After hitting a few mazes we spent some time admiring the awesome lighting and props of the event. So many classic touches in just this display.    Heading back into the fog.  MazesRoom 13 Room 13 is meant to be a kind of extension of the awesome Scare Zone, The Gore'ing 20's. In some ways it completely works, in a lot of ways it doesn't. It definitely reminds me of a maze one would have found at Dark Harbor a few years back, not like that's a bad thing at all. I did find it difficult to follow the story if I'm being honest. I would have liked to have gone through more than once. But it was without a doubt the longest maze line we found all night, due to some, let's just say, interesting line control. Cinema Slasher In any other year, Cinema Slasher would be the breakout maze of the year at Knott's Scary Farm. But this year with The Chilling Chambers, Cinema Slasher is regulated to second place for us. Reminds us a bit of the year both Dark Ride and Pumpkin Eater arrived at the event. Both great, but it's hard going up against what will be an all time top tier maze, at least for us. All that said, Cinema Slasher is a very worthy replacement for one of my all time favorite scary farm mazes, has a lot of classic touches and references to the past (just look at the picture below for one). And I foresee this having a very successful run at the event over the next few years.  The GhoulTime Theater Lives!! The Chilling Chambers To say that The Chilling Chambers is an amazing love letter to the history of Knott's Scary Farm, and my favorite maze of the year, is putting it mildly. I got chills walking through this maze. If you are a long-time fan of the event, this maze is worth admission all by itself. Just so many amazing call backs to the past. But even more than that, it's actually a fantastic maze all by itself. Even Clint, who was making his first ever visit to the event loved it (although I think he liked Cinema Slasher a bit more). =) You can tell the talent in here respects what the maze is all about, the designers had a lot of fun with it and first and foremost concentrated on creating a great maze, using the past as their inspiration. I just can't say enough about this one, and I REALLY hope it's not a one-and-done maze as I really do want my wife to experience this maze next year when she can return to the event. Overall we feel this is a very strong line-up of mazes. Unfortunately with only being able to go through most of the mazes once this year we had to judge them by our one and only walkthrough. This is the final year for both Dark Entities and The Depths, so we're definitely looking forward to what the event has cooked up for 2024. The Hanging made it's grand return to Knott's Scary Farm this year and if you've seen The Hanging previously, you pretty much know what to expect. But it was fantastic and great to have it back. Hopefully this isn't a one year thing, this is not the show that's creating controversy this year. =)    One of the big things this year is the 50th Legacy store, and we absolutely loved it. Today, 50 years later, Knott's Scary Farm is Southern California's longest-running and most haunting Halloween theme park event. With five decades of never-ending nightmares, unimaginable scares, and innovative thrills, Knott's Scary Farm has left no tomb unearthed, no crypt unrattled, and no fear untouched. This golden anniversary's lineup includes three new frightening mazes (for a total of 10), five sinister scare zones and four hair-raising shows. Guests can expect to uncover unforgettable experiences that will usher in characters from Haunt history. The 50th year of Knott’s Scary Farm starts on September 21 and runs through October 31, for a total of 29 terrifying nights. Guided by The Keeper, the sinister caretaker of the conservatory of horrors, guests are thrust beyond the threshold of an ominous towering cathedral that leads to terrifying classic maze themes from Knott's Scary Farm's infamous history. Timber Mountain Log Ride: Halloween Hootenanny (Attraction Overlay) – The Timber Mountain Log Ride residents celebrate the Halloween Hootenanny, which adds a seasonal twist to a park favorite. Mysterious creatures of Timber Mountain that live out in the woods and caverns join the citizens as they honor the season at the Halloween Hootenanny.
