Lunar New Year at SeaWorld, at a glance:
NEW! In honor of Lunar New Year’s Year of the Pig, guests can meet some of SeaWorld’s rescued pigs up close in an interactive area near the Skytower. These adorable potbellied pigs —which is any of a breed of small pigs originating in southeastern Asia and having a straight tail, potbelly, swayback, and black, white, or black and white coat—were taken in from rescue organizations and became part of the park’s Pets Rule! family.
NEW! An all-new teeter board act will be featured as part of awe-inspiring performances by the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei. These graceful acrobats combine agility with gymnastics in a mesmerizing, 25-minute show in the park’s Mission Bay Theater. In addition to the teeter board, other spellbinding performances include contortion, lion dancing, and juggling.
Lunar New Year Festival Area: Located just south of the landmark SeaWorld Skytower, this festively-decorated area brims with cultural entertainment, including Taiko drummers, lion dancers and fan dancers.
Incredible Animal Visits: Visitors will have a chance to get up close to SeaWorld’s Eurasian eagle owl, Asian small-clawed river otter and other animals.
Culinary Offerings: SeaWorld’s Lunar New Year festival will overflow with Asian-inspired flavors, including ramen, stir fry, bao sandwiches, aroma teas and more.
Lunar New Year at SeaWorld is included with park admission. SeaWorld’s Annual Silver Pass is an incredible value that provides guests with a year full of fun at SeaWorld! With a Pass in hand, visitors can be among the first to experience the world’s first-of-its-kind coaster Tidal Twister (slated to open in time for summer), as well as enjoy all the exciting seasonal events the park has to offer in 2019. (January 25, 2019) LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – In a signature style befitting one of the most iconic Disney villains, Maleficent makes her triumphant return to Disney’s Festival of Fantasy parade today at the Magic Kingdom. And the big rumor is that she’s had some work done – although she would never admit it.
Still sporting her classic Steampunk style, Maleficent returns in full dragon form, complete with new features to keep her in check while on show.
Also making their return to the parade are Prince Phillip; the Fairies Flora, Fauna and Merryweather; and the mischievous “Ravens” who fly around Maleficent just waiting to do her bidding.
Maleficent brings all of her villainy back to the Disney’s Festival of Fantasy parade – just one part of the daily spectacular where enchanting stories and characters from Fantasyland come to life for Magic Kingdom guests.
The fanciful tribute to Fantasyland highlights several new and classic Disney and Pixar stories on a grand scale. There’s nearly 100 performers – on stilts, swings and flying rigs – donning vibrant costumes in this lively mini-Broadway cavalcade soaring to new heights on Main Street, U.S.A.
The parade features beloved characters from favorite Disney stories – both newer treasures like “Tangled” and “Frozen” to classics like “Peter Pan” “Cinderella” and – of course – Maleficent’s story “Sleeping Beauty.”
Disney Festival of Fantasy parade is part of a new generation of parades for Disney Parks featuring never-before-used technology on eye-popping floats adorned with Disney characters from more than a dozen fairytales. Set to an all-new musical score, the dazzling parade floats soar up to three stories tall with spirited performers donning dramatic costumes crafted at ten different design houses across the country.
