New Weekend Festival Puts Brews and #ThrillsOnTap from August 25 through September 16
TAMPA, Fla. (July 31, 2018) – Toast to new traditions at Bier Fest, an all-new event at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, weekends from August 25 through September 16, including Labor Day. In blending the local Tampa Bay craft scene with Florida’s best thrill rides, Bier Fest creates a unique food and beer celebration.
More than 100 beers from 60 different breweries around the world will rotate through the four-weekend festival. Bier Fest is included in park admission and also features live entertainment and flavorful fare. Guests can explore some of Florida’s best-known craft beers, featuring the following breweries:
Beyond the sunshine state, beer connoisseurs will find an assortment of award-winning U.S. drafts and centuries-old European brews. During Bier Fest, the domestic and international selection will include beers from the following breweries, among many others:
Bier Fest also features a contemporary menu rooted in tradition that has been cultivated to meet Tampa Bay foodies’ sophisticated tastes. Themed culinary cabins will feature savory small-plate options that pair perfectly with beer.
Two-bite burgers are always a hit and Das Sliders will have a burger for every taste with an all-beef burger; Cuban-style pork burger; and Impossible™ sliders – an all-natural, all-plant burger.
German beers pair perfectly with selections at Hops & Handhelds including bite-sized Reuben croquettes, soft pretzel sticks with bacon beer-cheese dip, and mac and cheese fritters. Tavern will update the classic fish and chips and Kebabs will tempt palates with seared skewers of beef, chicken, kielbasa and vegetables.
Discover fresh fare at Seasonally Inspired where cool, crisp watermelon pairs with heirloom tomatoes and feta for an end-of-summer salad; fall’s first golden beets are roasted and tossed with pecans, goat cheese, and balsamic vinegar; and crispy duck glazed with sweet and spicy gochujang is paired with the last peaches of summer.
At The Best of the Wurst, traditional German handheld “fast food” has a new twist with curry wurst – knockwurst, fresh caraway slaw, and curry ketchup on a pita; brat wurst – spiced German sausage on a pretzel roll; and schnitzel – thin pork cutlet fried and topped with Swiss cheese and mushrooms on a pretzel roll.
The best way to celebrate all the flavors of the event is with the purchase of a Bier Fest Sampler. Available in quantities of five or ten, Samplers start at $29.99 for a choice of any food or beverage sample throughout the festival. Pass Members can purchase an exclusive 12-item Sampler for the same price as a 10-item Sampler.
Food and beverage is not included with park admission and is available for an additional fee. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcoholic beverages.
For those that want even more VIP offerings and events, the Annual Pass offers unlimited admission all year, free parking, no blockout dates and special benefits. Event organizers looking for 160 teams to compete for cash prize
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (July 31, 2018)—Pool time and cornhole is a winning combination. Never has that been truer than now as American Cornhole Organization (ACO) Champions are coming to Dollywood’s Splash Country to compete in the debut of the ACO Dollywood Classic for a guaranteed $7500 total prize purse!
Fresh off their world championship bid last weekend in Montgomery, Alabama, several professional teams turn their attention to their next test during the debut event at Dollywood’s Splash Country. The water park hosts this sanctioned tournament on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Event organizers are looking for 160 two-person teams to play in the double-elimination tournament, and while there are a number of ACO teams planning to play, the field is not set. Officials with the ACO say there is room for the general public to register and join the star-studded competition. Teams can register by visiting this link: https://www.squadup.com/events/aco-dollywood-cornhole-classic.
The cash payout allows the opportunity for several teams to walk away with a prize and bragging rights. For round one, there will be 16 flights of up to 10 players. After double-elimination, the top two teams from each flight will win $100. That’s a total payout of $3,200 from the first round. Those winning 32 teams will advance to the finals, and in that championship round, the top eight teams will win cash. First prize is $1,500; Second prize is $1,000; Third prize is $500.
Participants will play under a tent on the pool deck while park guests can enjoy watching the action from a tube in Mountain Waves wave pool, or even closer if they like! All the tournament activity adds even more excitement to Dollywood’s Splash Country’s fun summer atmosphere.
The cost is $45 per team and includes registration, processing and admission into Dollywood’s Splash Country. There also is a special $40 ticket for guests to purchase at the gate Aug. 11 so they may check out the tournament as they enjoy the water park.
The American Cornhole Organization is looking forward to bringing the sport to Dollywood, and Dollywood’s Splash Country General Manager Janet Dawson says her team is eager to play host. “What a fun opportunity! Families are coming to our water park to capitalize on summer fun in the sun and if they come on Aug. 11, they’ll get the bonus of seeing some of the world’s best compete for a lot of money and bragging rights in a sanctioned cornhole tournament,” Dawson said excitedly. “Our guests may even decide to enter the tournament and take on these champions. You never know what could happen!”
Dollywood’s Splash Country is open daily through Sunday, August 12. After that, the park shifts operations to Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends with the last day being Labor Day (Sept. 3). Universal Parks & Resorts, July 30, 2018 – Things are about to get turned upside down at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights’ with the first look reveal of the “Stranger Things” maze key art designed exclusively by Kyle Lambert, the official illustrator of the mega-hit Netflix original series.
Featuring the series’ cast standing adjacent to the predatory Demogorgon, the ominous image depicts a nearly palpable account of what guests can expect to experience when the “Stranger Things” maze debuts as part of “Halloween Horror Nights” this fall.
The “Stranger Thing” maze, inspired by season one of the Netflix series, will come to life atUniversal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, beginning, Friday, September 14, and at Universal Studios Singapore, beginning Thursday, September 27, 2018.
