​VAUGHAN, ON (July 10, 2025) – The wait is almost over! This Saturday, July 12 Canada’s Wonderland will debut AlpenFury, the country’s longest, tallest and fastest launch coaster.

When fire and ice meet inside the mysterious Wonder Mountain, the force will propel guests into a thrilling journey on AlpenFury, the park’s 18th roller coaster. It begins with a launch that blasts riders into the depths of the mountain, followed immediately by a second that sends the train vertical through the mountain summit, 50 metres into the sky. Guests will then race across a track that spans the park, reaching speeds of 115 km/h, flipping and twisting through nine breathtaking inversions – the most in the world for a launch coaster.

“AlpenFury will deliver an epic, record-breaking thrill,” said Heather Hill, park manager and vice president of operations. “With the combination of the two launches, that straight vertical climb and nine wild inversions, it will provide an action-packed, unforgettable experience. We’re excited to add AlpenFury to our lineup of world-class attractions.”

Ride AlpenFury for Charity
For almost 40 years, Canada’s Wonderland has been a proud supporter of SickKids Hospital in Toronto. This month, the park is hosting a fundraiser called Ride for a Cause Day on Friday, July 18 benefitting the children’s hospital.

Tickets for the VIP event are $125 each and include parking, admission to both the park and Splash Works for the day, a two-hour exclusive ride time on AlpenFury and six other rides (from 8 to 10 a.m.), an AlpenFury on-ride FunPix photo and a private catered lunch. The first 200 ticket purchasers also receive an AlpenFury poster by Made to Thrill. The ticket package is valued at more than $250. All proceeds will go to SickKids. Universal City, California, July 9, 2025 – Universal Studios Hollywood invites guests, movie buffs and Jurassic World fans everywhere to celebrate the #1 worldwide blockbuster movie Jurassic World Rebirth at the theme park’s all-new Universal Mega Movie Summer event running now through August 10.
 
Fans can experience the thrill of Jurassic World—The Ride, the theme park’s marquee attraction that features an incredible up-close encounter with the Mosasaurus along with other dinosaurs from the Jurassic World franchise. The iconic 84-foot water drop at the ride’s finale now reverberates with the menacing roar of a Mosasaurus and includes erupting geysers to shower guests with water and help them beat the heat.
 
A centerpiece to the experience includes the all-new opportunity to meet Dolores, the adorable Aquilops from the new film, alongside her handler, an animal specialist who’s on hand to share facts and stats about this tiny Ceratopsian herbivore.
 
Fans of the Jurassic World franchise will also have the chance to meet other dinosaur favorites Blue the Velociraptor, Juliet the Triceratops and Baby Tango, as well as see four new Dilophosaurus that are featured on the ride.
 
The experience also welcomes guests to step into a thrilling scene from Jurassic World Rebirth and pose near a larger-than-life Spinosaurus to create a memorable photo op perfect for instant social postings.  An entertaining scavenger hunt featuring several sneaky Compsognathus dinosaurs will both entertain and keep guests on their toes as they navigate around the area.

Jackson, N.J. — July 8, 2025 -- Six Flags Great Adventure’s Wild Safari is celebrating two exciting new arrivals this summer: a newborn giraffe calf and the newest member of its animal care team.

A three-week-old female giraffe named Mbi (pronounced em-bee), born to mom Embu, is thriving behind the scenes. Guests can look forward to seeing the young calf on the safari in the coming weeks as she grows and begins to explore her environment.

Joining the veterinary team is Dr. Erica Jackson, DVM, a Toms River native who began working at the safari during summers in college. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University, she has returned to the park full-time.

“I’ve loved animals since I was three and always dreamed of working here,” said Dr. Jackson. “Now, I get to help care for some of the most incredible species alongside an amazing team.”

Dr. Jackson has a special passion for working with elephants and credits mentors Dr. William Rives and Dr. Ken Keiffer, both tenured vets at Wild Safari, for guiding her career in exotic animal medicine. She also completed training at the San Diego Zoo and brings both experience and heart to her new role. Guests may spot her throughout the safari, where she helps care for more than 1,200 animals.
