Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Receives $10,000 on Sweetin’s Behalf From the Family Theme Park! CARLSBAD, Calif. (Nov. 26, 2018) – Fireworks filled the sky and snow fell onto the crowd as Jodie Sweetin, the star of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas’ new original movie, “Entertaining Christmas,” helped Santa pull the switch to light the world’s largest LEGO®Christmas tree at LEGOLAND® California Resort during the 16th annual tree lighting ceremony in Carlsbad, California. Sweetin, a mother of two, is best known for her popular role as Stephanie Tanner on the ABC hit show, Full House, and the Netflix hit show, Fuller House. Prior to Sweetin pulling the switch that turned on more than 11,000 LED lights on the 30-foot tall Christmas tree, she was presented with a LEGO cupcake ornament as an invitation to return next year for the Park’s 20th birthday celebration. In honor of the Park’s birthday and its recent announcement of “Kids free admission on their birthdays in 2019,” Master Model Builders created 20 special LEGO cupcake ornaments to represent each year the family theme park has been open for millions of guests to enjoy. The new ornaments adorn the enormous tree which features more than 400 other LEGO decorations and is created from 245,000 green DUPLO® bricks. “Thank you to LEGOLAND California Resort for having me here today, it’s an amazing honor to light this incredible LEGO tree and get the holiday season started,” said Sweetin. “I look forward to coming back with my kids and enjoying all the festivities for the Park’s 20th birthday in 2019.” At the ceremony, LEGOLAND California Resort donated $10,000 on Sweetin’s behalf to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, a nonprofit pediatric academic medical center dedicated to creating hope and building healthier futures for children. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles treats more children with complex health conditions than any other hospital in Southern California. “Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is honored to receive this donation from Jodie and LEGOLAND California Resort as it helps us continue to provide the best possible care for children,” said said Terry Green, Associate Senior Vice President of Development in the Foundation at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
