Limited-Time Event Features a Unique Opportunity to Drive Thru the 140-Acre Theme Park While Enjoying More than a Million Dazzling Lights, Themed Areas, and Distanced Entertainment in a Safe, Outdoor Environment

Picture
Jackson, NJ — November 23, 2020 — For the first time in its history, Six Flags Great Adventure, the World’s Ultimate Thrill Park, will offer a drive-thru experience of its winter spectacular, Holiday in the Park. Featuring more than a million dazzling lights, festive holiday theming, and seasonal music favorites, this innovative, one-of-a-kind, nighttime event will operate Monday through Thursday evenings Nov. 30 through Dec. 17. While the thrill of the park’s iconic roller coasters, festive fire pits, and delicious holiday treats will operate only on weekends, this unique Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience will delight revelers of all ages on weeknights, and offer an exciting way to celebrate the spirit of the season from the comfort and safety of their own vehicles.

“We are proud to debut another way for our guests to safely celebrate the holidays with this unprecedented, magical event,” said Six Flags Great Adventure President John Winkler. “We have successfully transformed the traditional weekend operation of our beloved Holiday in the Park into a new, drive-thru experience during the week. The popularity of our Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure showed us that families are craving ways to create special memories together that are safe and socially distant, and we are honored to welcome them into our theme park winter wonderland. Plus, theme park enthusiasts won’t want to miss this extremely rare opportunity to drive through the park,” he added.

As one of the largest holiday drive-thru events in the Northeast and the only one inside a theme park, the Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience will include 12 immersive, distinctly different areas throughout the 140-acre theme park which will be filled with an exquisite palette of colorful twinkling lights, live entertainment, and festive music. Guests will enjoy distanced greetings from beloved holiday characters decked out for the holidays, popular iconic holiday decorations, a drive-by featuring Santa and Mrs. Claus and their helpful elves, and much more.

Highlights of the new Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience include:
  • Jolly Jamboree: The journey begins in this new section for 2020 which features live entertainment, twinkling trees, and a red sky pathway;
  • Holiday Heroes: Patriotic colors and projected stars signify the start of Holiday Heroes, a section home to some of the most iconic, hero-themed thrill rides. Guest cross the Metropolis-Narrows Bridge adorned with shimmering garland, and pass a dazzling and bold red, white and blue-wrapped tree;
  • Holiday Memories: Traditional red, white and green décor evokes the warm memories of the holidays in this charming section featuring a glistening tree, festive wreaths, and glowing mistletoe balls swinging gently from the trees above;
  • North Pole: This section transforms into a kaleidoscope of color with Santa’s House – completely engulfed in lights – anchoring the center while two massive nutcrackers stand guard outside, and dancing lights travel around the Bumper Cars pavilion;
  • Polar Point: Guests pass the 15-story Big Wheel, illuminated in lavender, to enter a world of brilliant, ice-blue trees offering the illusion of falling snow;
  • A Main Street Christmas: Located in the heart of the park, this Main Street reminiscent of a colonial Christmas is home to a spectacular, five-story, LED tree and gently-falling snow;
  • Gingerbread Junction: This feast for the eyes features the Carousel pavilion’s exciting light show, peppermint swirl-wrapped trees, and giant, peppermint light projections;
  • Poinsettia Peak: The section is awash in bold red tones with a beautiful tree comprised of poinsettias. Poinsettia projection lights and Skull Mountain, illuminated in red, complete this area;
  • Holly Jolly Christmas: Guests will feel the chill as they pass Polar Point on their way toward THE JOKER, where Holly Jolly Christmas offers traditional red and green decor and a massive Santa inflatable;
  • Joy to the World: Next, the warm, yellow glow of wrapped trees frame tranquil luminaries highlighting religious holidays from around the world along the still, moonlit Great Lake. Then, guests will journey over massive snowflake light projections under dramatically illuminated trees and continue through the dazzling Twinkle Tunnel;
  • Snowman City: Standing tall – extremely tall -- the jolly, three-story inflatable snowman known as Stewey welcomes guests to Snowman City, punctuated by bright white lights and shimmering tinsel; and
  • Deck the Halls: The journey draws to a close in the Boardwalk section as guests pass iconic roller coasters, larger-than-life illuminated presents, and twinkling, oversized tree trimmings.
The Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience will debut Nov. 30 and run Monday through Thursday evenings through Dec. 17. All guests are required to make a reservation at www.sixflags.com/reserve. Reservations and tickets for Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience will begin at noon Weds., Nov. 25. Tickets for this first-ever event will be available on a first come, first served basis and will be sold per person for each night. Admission is free with active Memberships and Season Passes, and reservations are required. Ticket sales will not be available at the gate. The event and its live entertainment are weather permitting.
The safety of guests and team members is always Six Flags’ top priority. The new Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience will offer a contactless experience that follows CDC, state, and county health and safety guidelines. To prevent overcrowding and provide proper social distancing, a limited number of cars will be allowed each night.

Event requirements include use of masks if windows are down, no smoking, littering, stopping, or exiting vehicles. Due to the limited size of certain areas and terrain within the theme park, only cars, SUVs, vans, and pick-up trucks are permitted. No busses, RVs, commercial vehicles, dually pick-up trucks, trailers, or motorcycles will be allowed.  A maximum speed of three mph, and maintaining a safe distance between cars, will be strictly enforced.

As part of Six Flags’ comprehensive safety procedures, all employees are required to wear masks and are temperature-checked and health-screened each day. Gloves are worn as appropriate, per guidelines. Six Flags encourages guests to plan accordingly for restroom breaks, gasoline, and food. Portable restrooms will be available at the entrance and exit. For the full Holiday in the Park experience, including world-class thrill rides, festive treats, holiday shopping, fire pits, live entertainment and more, guests are encouraged to plan their visit weekends and select days through Jan. 3, 2020.

With the extension of Buena Vista Street, guests can create new holiday memories with seasonal treats and enjoy a great selection of thoughtful gifts
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2020) – Guests can now share the special joys of the holiday season in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort.  Whether sipping a hot cocoa on a crisp, cool morning, sharing stories over a memorable meal, of finding the perfect gift for everyone on your list, the Downtown Disney District has it all.

Known for its exceptional selection of dining and shopping, the Downtown Disney District recently expanded to include the Disney Resort Backlot Premiere Shop, and beginning Nov. 19, it will extend with more Disney shopping and dining along Buena Vista Street.
Thanksgiving Treats
Beginning with Thanksgiving treats, Downtown Disney District has a variety of way to tempt the tastebuds throughout the month of November.  For a limited time, the Thanksgiving Burger is available at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, while Salt & Straw offers the themed ice cream flavors of Salted Thanksgiving Turkey and Sweet Potato Casserole with maple pecans.  Of course, Earl of Sandwich offers its holiday best year-round with its Holiday Turkey Sandwich, a delicious layering of turkey, cornbread stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and mayonnaise on freshly-baked artisan bread.
Holiday Sips, Eats & Sweets
The Downtown Disney District has a treat for every sweet tooth – whether it’s the Chocolate Peppermint Cheesecake Crazy Shake at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, a White Christmas Churro, or an adorable snowman macaron from Kayla’s Cake – holiday cravings are a cinch to be satisfied.  The festive caramel apples and peppermint marshmallow wands at Marcelline’s Confectionery and Trolley Treats also make great gifts.

Carthay Circle Restaurant is introducing Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining, a new outdoor dining experience featuring flavorful Mediterranean-California fare and terrific views of Buena Vista Street.  At this time, this restaurant will use a mobile waitlist system throughout the day to manage the number of guests dining when the location is at capacity.

After a day of shopping, grown-ups may enjoy La Brea Bakery’s clever cocktail list featuring the Merry Manhattan, the Tinsel-Tini, a Mistletoe Margarita, the Joyful Daiquiri or a Jolly Old Fashioned that can be paired with a sandwich or entrée.
Treasured Gifts
Guests can swing into the holiday spirit by picking up a silver and gold spirit jersey, an “ugly sweater” Loungefly backpack or a new snow blower wand for wintery fun at World of Disney, Elias & Co. or Disneyland Resort Backlot Premiere Shop. There’s even more Disney to love and to choose from at The Disney Dress Shop, Disney Home and Julius Katz & Sons. Together, these stores offer the ultimate in Disney shopping for toys, apparel, souvenirs, home décor and holiday collections.

Rinse Bath & Body Co. offers Spiced Cranberry handcrafted soaps and lotion sticks, giving the scent of mulled spices, made with ingredients that are soothing to winter skin. Their entire selection of natural products is perfect for stocking stuffers.

At Pandora, guests can build their own bracelet with charms that make a statement, hand-finished in sterling silver. Pandora has limited-edition gift sets for the holidays including three themed Cinderella charms with magical motifs, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Walt Disney’s animated classic.
Other unique boutiques such as California Sole, Curl Surf, Sunglass Icon, Sephora, Sugarboo & Co. and The LEGO Store offer the ideal gift for every member of the family.
Toys for Tots
Now through December 13, 2020, donate a toy online at shopDisney.com/ToysForTots, or donate a new, unwrapped toy to any Disney store or a World of Disney store in the U.S., and Disney will donate an additional $1 to Toys for Tots.  Disney’s tradition of supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves’ Toys for Tots program dates back to Walt Disney, who personally supervised the creation of the Toys for Tots logo. Disney also was a founding sponsor of the program when it began in 1947. Today, Disneyland Resort is proud to continue the tradition of supporting Toys for Tots.

Before visiting the Downtown Disney District, guests should visit Disneyland.com/DTD to learn important information about updated experiences and other details including health and safety measures such as the requirement of temperature checks for all guests, ages 2 and older, to wear an appropriate face covering.
The number of guests visiting the Downtown Disney District and its shopping and dining locations is limited to promote physical distancing. At some locations, including the World of Disney store, Marceline’s Confectionery, Buena Vista Street and Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining at Carthay Circle Restaurant, a mobile waitlist system may be used at times to manage the number of guests when the location and/or queue are at capacity. Guests can choose to provide their name and mobile number to receive a text message when they are able to return.* Disney California Adventure park is currently closed.
