Pigeon Forge, TN, USA (May 16th, 2018) Dollywood rolled out the largest expansion in the history of the park this past weekend. Eight new attractions spread out across five acres make up the new Wildwood Grove. Designed specifically for families, Wildwood Grove features plenty of areas to sit and recharge in addition to the multitude of new rides and experiences. The land has been inspired by Dolly Parton’s love for nature that started during her childhood and by the Great Smokey Mountains that surround the park. The winding path inspires the feeling of exploration throughout the entire land as guests venture deeper into the area to find new and exciting creatures waiting around every bend. One of the key new rides is Black Bear Trail, built by Metallbau Emmeln, which allows guests to hop on the back of a friendly black bear and explore. The ride system is Metallbau Emmeln’s Pony Trek system, which is found in amusement parks worldwide. “It has been an honor for us to work with Dollywood on one of our first major projects in the United States,” said Gunnar Vages, Metallbau Emmeln’s Managing Director. “I am confident that this ride will bring joy and inspire love of nature in children for years.” President of Ride Entertainment Adam Sandy, Metallbau Emmeln’s US sales partner, said “working with Herschend (Family Entertainment)’s Creative team is always a joy. The work and attention to detail that goes in to bringing Dolly’s creations to life never ceases to amaze me.” Wildwood Grove and Black Bear Trail is now open to guests.
