Darien Center, NY, USA (May 22nd, 2018) Darien Lake Theme Park opened this season with a brand new name Six Flags: Darien Lake. Now a part of the Six Flags family they were quick to add a classic staple for many Six Flags across the country, a Star Flyer™. Named Six Flags SkyScreamer the new ride will not just be the tallest in the park, it will be the tallest in all of New York State! Guests won’t want to miss the view from 242 feet in the air while spinning at 35 miles an hour.
“Six Flags continues to lead the way in innovation as we bring the state’s tallest ride to Western New York. We are thrilled to add this shining beacon and iconic landmark to the Six Flags Darien Lake skyline,” said Park President Chris Thorpe. “From this impressive tower guests will soar high among the clouds, takin in majestic views of the park and surrounding countryside below.” “They have been a wonderful partner to work with,” said Hannes Lackner, General Manager at Funtime (manufacturer of the Starflyer). “We are thrilled that riders enjoy the experience so much that Six Flags just keeps expanding the number of parks that offer a Starflyer.” President of Ride Entertainment Adam Sandy, Funtime’s North American sales partner, said “this is the second year in a row we have gotten the opportunity to work with Darien Lake and have partnered with Six Flags for many years. Both of these teams are wonderful to work with and we appreciate all of the trust that they put in us.” Ride Entertainment was also responsible for erecting the ride. Sky Screamer at Six Flags Darien Lake is now open. About Funtime Fun is Funtime’s mission. With the belief that flying is fun for everyone they make attractions that are thrilling and daring.
