Six Flags Holds First Ever Coaster Speed Dating Event

Singles Attempt to Find Love on Roller Coaster “Speed” Date
VALLEJO, Calif. — February 15, 2020 — Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the Thrill Capital of Northern California, today invited single people ages 24-36 to try and find love while riding the park’s SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight roller coaster. The park commemorated the recent Valentine’s Day holiday by taking the concept of “Speed Dating” to new heights, literally!

Participants that were hoping to flip head over heels, were provided with ice breaker questions to assist with getting to know one another and Coaster Speed Date Scorecards to help determine who may be matches for a second date. This was before they were launched at speeds of up to 62 mph, 15 stories in the air, while experiencing four thrilling upside down moments.

Participants pre-registered online and were selected based on their online responses as to why they wanted to take part in the event. At the conclusion of the event participants had the ability to stay and enjoy the park on a second date if they chose.

“Based on the popularity and success of this incredibly fun and unique event at our park, the probability is high that we will make this an annual tradition,” said Communications Manager for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Marc Merino, “There was certainly love in the air today, 150-feet in the air to be exact.”

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom features more than 60 rides and attractions, including unique, up close and interactive animal experiences. Holiday in the Park is open weekends through January 2020 and is included with all active Memberships and Season Passes. For specific park hours and information, visitsixflags.com/discoverykingdom/.
