Last week Six Flags Fiesta Texas held their media day for the all new Batman: The Ride which opens this Saturday!!
Unfortunately weather wreaked havoc on the day and not even Batman could hold off the storm.
But that didn't stop Mary and Becky from having an AMAZING time at the event and getting some great pictures!!!
Mary's review of Media Day:
The media only event was top notch. From the limo ride to the red carpet. Awesome fireworks and large confetti that resembled bats flying when set off were the back drop while the Batman theme music played. The food was great, they had coconut shrimp and pork tenderloin with all the fixings and sides you could want. The only setback was the weather.
The few people that were able to ride said it was like nothing they had ever ridden before. Some even said it actually scared them in a good way, exhilarating and fun. I can't wait to ride soon. Thunderstorms and lightning foiled our plans this time but we did sit in the chair at the front of the ride and pretend to ride. Plus I got to meet Batman. And who doesn't love Batman.
Mary and Becky are ready for the red carpet treatment at Six Flags Fiesta Texas
The Red Carpet at one of the best Six Flags parks.
Love what they've done with the ride entry.
That sure does look fun.
Some of the queue.
Even though they couldn't ride, Mary and Becky still had some fun in the test seat.
What event for a new Batman ride would be complete without a picture with Batman.
Here is some on-ride footage of the ride for those who may not have seen it yet.
Thanks so much to Six Flags Fiesta Texas for having us out, we enjoyed sharing the pictures on media day and can't wait to get out there and ride for ourselves.
And a HUGE thank you to Mary and Becky who are pretty much like Gregg's sisters, except the pretty much part. Almost 25 years of friendship will do that. =). And they've both promised to be our new Texas correspondents, so yay!!!
They will be sending more from Fiesta Texas when they get out there and ride Batman soon.
It's finally here ... almost 9 months to the day since Colossus closed, it's had a baby, and it's amazing and glorious and all of the things that Six Flags Magic Mountain has needed for years.
Colossus closed on August 16, 2014 and Twisted Colossus opens this Saturday May 23, 2014.
Tomorrow we'll be at Media Day and then back at the park on Thursday and Saturday but in the meantime, let's take a look back at the last 9 months of construction.
Click on any of the pictures below to view the individual update.
Thanks for following alone over the last 9 months of construction. We've grown bigger than we ever thought possible over the last few months and that's due to all of your support.
We are looking forward to hearing what you all think of the ride and meeting some of you this week. Don't forget about our meet-up on Opening Day. Click the link to RSVP and where we'll be meeting.
Today is the opening day for Six Flags Great Adventures new thrill ride, El Diablo.
Before we get to the great stuff from Media Day, a huge thanks to our good friend Joe for covering the event for us on Wednesday.
Arriving at the park to check in for the event.
Something new over behind those trees ...
This statue is very cool.
Any debate about a coaster vs not a coaster aside ... they did a great job on the ride and the area surrounding it.
All indications are that the GP love the ride so far.
Somebody on Twitter brought up that they should have named the ride the New Jersey Devil ... with the park being semi-local to Philadelphia, that wouldn't have been the best idea. Even Joe, as a Flyers fan wouldn't shake the Devils hand.
But here's the mascot anyway. =)
New Jersey Devil, Kristin Siebeneicher from Six Flags Great Adventure and former New Jersey Devil Colin White.
Rider instructions ... keep your head back!!
Sugary stuff + Looping ride = Look out below!!! =)
These would last about a week
Sponsored by KIA ... before you go bashing KIA, we've had 5 of them (including 2 now) and they are great cars.
Joe's review of the ride:
Hang time is amazing. More thrilling than I thought it would be.
Below is some great B-Roll footage the park sent us for El Diablo.
Because we don't get to cover Great Adventure as much as we'd like, how about some more pics around the park?
This is an amazing shot.
Knocking down the Sea Fort ... what's coming here, who knows.
The great new entry to the Safari.
Alright, that's going to wrap it up for our Media Day Coverage. If you've ridden El Diablo be sure to share your thoughts below.
