 Happy Friday Everybody and welcome to our first coaster construction tour since ... honestly, I can't even remember the last time we had a coaster construction tour. And we are SO excited to bring you a look at the upcoming Wrath of Rakshasa at Six Flags Great America. We had Scott out at the park yesterday to learn more about the new coaster and get some amazing pics of the coaster itself. We hope you enjoy and we can't wait to see this amazing looking coaster in action later on this year.  Let's start with some coaster pieces waiting to be installed. They've made some great progress over the winter.    In addition to the coaster, they have moved the ticket booths back to the old security and metal detectors, and opened up more of the entrance to the park.  Still an amazing park reveal, along with it's sister park in Santa Clara.  An interesting tidbit learned during the tour is that Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger was originally slated and designed for Six Flags Great America, and in the same spot. They then decided they wanted a taller more intense dive coaster with more inversions so sent that coaster to Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

Another reason for the change and sending Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger to Six Flags Fiesta Texas is that they wanted more guest interaction over pathways and the midway. Something that Six Flags Great America does not currently have. We absolutely love this trend of being able to see more coasters and them not just being backstage all the time.    The biggest and deepest footers are not where you would expect them (like the lift or drop). They are actually on the last few turns at the end of the ride. The biggest footers are 6 feet wide and 90 feet deep.   Hi Demon, we see you back there.     Nerd shot!   
 Hi Batman and Goliath. We see you back there.   As you can see, work is going on feverishly at the park, with lots of installation still to come. 
 Let's head inside for a close up look of the trains. These have the same set-up as the previously mentioned Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger, with a "true" center seat. You can see how it dominates the center of the park now. Which is awesome.    Three B&M's will kind of tower over this area of the park now. And that's not a bad thing at all. There's not too many B&M models this park is missing at this point.    A look at the station area   Alright, that's going to wrap it up for our tour. Related Updates Last week we were up in the Great White North to visit family and we had decided to visit Canada's Wonderland one of the days. I hadn't had a proper park day at Canada's Wonderland since 2017 and my wife had never visited other than our Haunt trip in 2022. So we were due. It just so happened the park was having a tour of AlpenFury the day we were there and they kindly invited me to tag along to get a great look at construction for this new Premier Rides masterpiece, and of course the opportunity to go inside Wonderland Mountain! It was epic. Let's head in!  They had redone the entry area and security checkpoints since our visit in 2022, and they are (chef's kiss)  Hi Leviathan! We'll get back to you later!   After years of trying to meet, finally got to meet the incredible Grace Peacock, who is easily one of the best in the business. Nick got an interview with Grace prior to us arriving and we'll have that available for you soon!  Haunt is coming!  Let's head in for our AlpenFury Tour!  We started off in the station area which is where some of the first footers for the coaster showed up!   We then ended up in the area right next to Thunder Mountain and the Poutinerie.   Absolutely love that much of the trees in this area are remaining even with them adding an all new coaster.  Heading into Wonderland Mountain!  A little Haunt update for ya. =)  After a lot (A LOT) of steps, we found ourselves on top of Wonderland Mountain. Well, close to the top.  Hi Vortex!   This is where AlpenFury will exit Wonderland Mountain! This will be an incredible headchopper.  Our tour hosts were incredible!  And the views weren't bad either.
 After the tour I met back up with my family who was out enjoying the park. After a quick spin on Yukon Striker we headed over to the Behemoth area. I really do have a hard time deciding if I like Behemoth or Leviathan better. Poor Canada's Wonderland. Having to decide between two awesome coasters.
 We quickly ran by Flight Deck and Time Warp. We did not ride either. =)  Hi Knott's! So the rumor for years is that Leviathan was originally slated for Knott's Berry Farm. I thought that was pretty much something that only west coasters believed. But it turns out everybody in Canada thinks they stole it from Knott's.  We had missed Boo Blasters on our last trip, so made a point to head over for a ride. I enjoy them.  Love Windseeker!  Had to of course get BeaverTails! They still need to work with Knott's and get a Boysenberry version!  After getting a couple more rides on Behemoth, we headed back to the other side of the park for a couple more rides on Leviathan, but not before taking a break in front of the beautiful Wonderland Mountain!  When RD, Randy and I rode this during Haunt in 2022 it was smooth as glass. I'm guessing due to the ride heaters? It was still fun, but not smooth as glass. ;)  Iconic shot!  Love this AlpenFury display at the front of the park!  I actually really like this hoodie!  AlpenFury merch! I picked up a shirt of course.  We had an incredible day at the park! There's a reason Canada's Wonderland is one of our favorite parks! Can't wait to get back next year for AplenFury with our new "All Parks Prestige Passes". =) Related Videos
