Over the weekend we headed up to Six Flags Magic Mountain to take a spin on the newest VR offering, Drop of Doom. We also of course had to check on CraZanity and everything else going on at the park. Written by Gregg Condon It was a beautiful day at the park We love the new Member Priority Entrance!! We usually get to the park before the park opens, but on days that we don't it's nice to know we can still have a short line. No more VR on Revolution!! Let's hope it stays this way. Fast dispatches on this classic ride are the way to go!! Jet Stream was testing, and a look at the development going on behind the park. The building for the first drop looks brand new!! Retail and houses going up behind the park (and people to complain about the noise for the park that's been there 46 years we're guessing). Let's take a look at the Boardwalk Love that they are leaving the classic look of the Scrambler Welding of the new floor for the Bumper Cars A peek through the cracks Tractors and stuff The games area is looking awesome!! The main reason for our visit was to check out DC Super Heroes Drop of Doom VR While we'd be the first to admit we aren't fans of VR on theme park rides (in our opinion coasters and theme parks ARE the escape from the everyday world) we will admit that the VR is a much better fit on Lex Luthor than on Revolution. B-Roll of DC Super Heroes Drop of Doom VR Lastly, they are painting some of the slides in Hurricane Harbor, just a few months until Summer officially kicks off!! Related Updates:
Happy Hump Day everybody!! Today we have a quick update from Six Flags Magic Mountain. We were at the park for a bit this past Sunday, the park wasn't busy at all and we were able to get some CraZanity pics. We also did year some news about the opening, but we aren't sure if we're able to share it yet. We'll try and find out and edit this post if we can. Written by Gregg Condon Well, the first thing we noticed is that work has begun on the parking lot. This isn't the "slurry" that the park has done a few times over the years, but is all new asphalt. Guessing this is in preparation for the Solar Panels that are coming to both Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Most of our morning was spent just riding stuff like Full Throttle, Goliath and Twisted Colossus (with zero waits on any of them) And Batman of course Work is continuing in the new Boardwalk area A lot of brightness, a welcome change!! Ground clearing is almost done for CraZanity Would imagine the ride pad will be poured any day now A look back at the fresh new paint Soon ... very soon Tidal Wave is still closed, and is reportedly going to get some new (much needed) paint More CraZanity ... we've also heard that the rest of the trees here will remain which is great The Bumper Cars are also getting a full re-build as well as a new fleet of cars From the Magic Mountain Twitter (picture from SFMM) @SFMagicMountain @SFMagicMountain SPECIAL DELIVERY! Sneak peek of our new bumper cars #thrillcapitaloftheworld It's going to be like an all new ride!! Jet Stream is also closed and is receiving a pretty nice refurb You can see all of the work done on the first drop building Lastly, all rides are now available for all levels of the Flash Pass!! That'll wrap it up. We hope you enjoyed our look at the goings on at Six Flags Magic Mountain Related Updates: Considering the last time we did a "Magic Mountain Update" other than Media events was last May we figured it was way past time to head up to the park and see what's going on. So here we go!! Written by Gregg Condon In celebration of being open 365 days in 2018, the park got a new sign. Lots of ground clearing going on all around the park. In the front for what is probably more office buildings, in the back for Newhall Ranch. How long until people start complaining about noise from the park? Please Neal, keep it this way!! Hey Viper!!! (had a really great ride on it today) It was a gorgeous day at the park Let's take a look at CraZanity progress Honestly not a lot to report, but there is one tiny piece of Metro track back there Should start seeing some progress soon Lots and lots of walls A peek through the wall Goliath seemed to be having some issues, train was stuck at the top of the hill all day One last shot before heading out We had a really great morning at the park, not busy at all. Be sure to take advantage of the operating days during this time of year, during the week you should pretty much have the park to yourself. Related Updates: |
