Yesterday Randy from  Metro Atlanta Coaster Club  was out at Six Flags Over Georgia for media day for their all new Justice League: Battle for Metropolis.

This is the first of three such rides to open at different Six Flags Parks for 2017. Below we've got some amazing pictures, POV and Reverse POV video and some additional information on how you can ride the ride starting this weekend!

Eager to test out Six Flags' new Justice League 4D dark ride? You have two chances to ride it before the grand opening on May 26.

If you're a season passholder, you can try it out next Saturday and Sunday (May 20-21) just by showing your pass.

For an even earlier crack at it, purchase a special-edition souvenir T-shirt in the park and you can ride it THIS WEEKEND (May 13-14) between noon-6pm each day!

SFMM Justice League Update #9

Today we're back at Six Flags Magic Mountain for another look at Metropolis and Justice League Battle For Metropolis.

Also, Apocalypse finally reopened this weekend after a lengthy refubishment and re-tracking. Did it help? Read on below.

Here we are back in Metropolis, home of Tidal Wave?

Work has begun on Ace O' Clubs

Guessing we'll start seeing more visible work going on outside

Can't wait to see this done, guessing lots of great stuff is going on inside

Mmm Beer

It's going to look so great when it's all done

Repainting of Riddlers has begun
Picture
Old and new ... wish it was sunnier so you could see the difference better. I do like the green, haven't seen any of the new support color yet.

As we were walking by they were opening Apocalypse. You can see them removing the sign here.

It's great to see this ride back in action

So did the re-tracking help? Yes and no.

The parts that were re-tracked are great. Smooth and fun. They did re-track the worst parts of the ride so that's awesome. Still there are a few parts that didn't get re-tracked and it would have been nice to see the entire ride get a re-track. We're hoping this is a multi-year process and the ride will come back down next offseason for more work to bring it back to where it was on opening day.

We can definitely see the reason why the park wants to get the ride open for the busy Summer season.

The park is advertising a couple of movies, one of them would make an AMAZING Fright Fest maze. We'll let you guess which one.
Picture
Picture
They are also preparing for their Grad Nite festivities.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Swashbuckler is also closed for a refurbishment. Don't think there's any other ride at this park that get's as much refurbishment as Swashbuckler.
Picture
Drop of Doom was closed due to high winds and sadly not to move the VR off of Revolution and onto the drop ride like some other Six Flags parks.
Picture
And lastly, we'll leave you with some Twisted Colossus pictures, because why not.

SFMM Justice League Update #8

Today we've got a quick update from Six Flags Magic Mountain where we'll be taking a look at the progress on Justice League.

Apocalypse is also still undergoing some major re-tracking that looks to be more extensive than first believed.

Written by Gregg Condon
As you can see, it was a pretty busy day (this was taken at around 1:00pm).

Seriously, if you can get away on a weekday to visit the park the next 4-5 weeks do it.
Picture
They've finally added some signs to keep people off of the bus route, that they weren't paying attention to.
Picture
Moving inside the park, they are still working on Justice League (obviously).

Most of the work is probably going on inside right now. At least one would hope.
Picture
Most of the remodeled food locations have opened and look great.
Picture
Picture
Apparently we missed the re-paint of Studio 6F and Gold Rusher's station that took place a couple of months ago. Oops.
Picture
Picture
Picture
The new entrance for Tidal Wave is done, going to be interesting how the route the line and if they make one long switch back in the old queue.

(still think this is more work than just making some new DC signs, but we aren't in the theme park business)
Picture
A look at the rest of Metropolis, Apparently Riddlers got pressure-washed last week so painting should be starting soon, if it hasn't already.
Picture
No work yet on JB's, but new tables are there.
Picture

Moving on to Apocalypse, the last word we got from the park was they were hoping the ride would reopen on Easter Weekend. Obviously that didn't happen so we're hoping they decided to re-track more of the ride. Originally it was only supposed to be a couple hundred feet of track.
Picture
It does appear some work is going on here at the final turn around.
Picture
Picture
And it definitely looks like some work has been done to the first turn around and drop.
Picture
Picture
Alright, that's going to wrap it up for this update, we hope you enjoyed.

We've been asked a couple of times when Justice League is going to open, we have no clue. At this point our best guess would be sometime in June (probably when we're in Texas for CoasterCon lol).

Today we've got another update from Six Flags Magic Mountain as they continue to work on Justice League for the Spring/Summer opening.

We'll also take a look at the Apolcalypse refurbishment to see how that's going.

Justice League, all closed up and definitely being worked on inside.

Absolutely LOVING the re-do of the food area. The colors are nice and subtle.

Now = Break area. Soon = Beer garden.

A look at the area around the ride, still a lot of work to be done.

New hotness

For some reason they were testing Riddlers Revenge. Doesn't look like any of the re-painting has been done yet.
Picture
Still not sure what they are doing with Tidal Wave

Moving over to Apocalypse, the re-furb continues

After our last update we checked with the park and they indicated they were hoping to open up the ride for Easter Weekend
Picture
Picture
Looking at this we'd say that it's not going to open for this weekend, but we can cross our fingers.
Picture

Nice re-paint of the Screampunk District entry

That's about it for this update, now that the park is open for daily operations we'll try and get up for another update soon.

Yesterday was a weird kind of day. What started off as a day of travel quickly turned into a day of not a whole lot of travel, but one where we ended up in Valencia with a couple of hours to kill, so why not stop in at Magic Mountain to see what was doing and to ride a few coasters.
And that's just what we did. We'll take a look at what's been going on with Justice League since our tour a couple of weeks ago as well as some pictures and video of the Apocalypse re-do.

Written by Gregg Condon
Coming soon ...
Picture
Doesn't look like anything has been done on Riddlers yet
Picture
But it sure does need a paint job
Picture
Weird, when we did our tour the building didn't seem that big, but it's REALLY big.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Would expect work on all of this to pick up pace in the next few weeks. In fact, we noticed a crane sitting near Riddlers when we rode Batman.
Picture
They are doing a lot of work on the food area
Picture
Picture
Really like the blue paint here. It's not just the normal "Six Flags Blue" that we've seen all over the place. =)
Picture
They were doing some work around Tidal Wave, could be for the new entrance but this seems like a REALLY weird spot for it.
Picture
Picture

Let's move on to Apocalypse, where it's getting a very extensive (and much needed) re-track.

UPDATE: We confirmed with the park today that they are hoping to re-open Apocalypse on Easter weekend.
Picture
Picture
Hard to tell if anything has been done on this part of the ride
Picture
Stuff has DEFINITELY been done on this part of the ride. Hi dude up there working!!!
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
It looks like they've started removing stuff from this part of the ride
Picture
This is as close as we could get, but looks like some of the metal track has been taken out.
Picture

A couple of random tid-bits ... the tree was removed from outside Gold Rusher awhile ago, some nice plants have been put in it's place. Really shows how much TLC Gold Rusher needs though.
Picture
Tatsu is back open after getting it's lift hill chain replaced. Which means we're back to hearing Tatsuuuuuu at every ride now. Ugh.
Picture
Had some lunch at Pick Six and it was good as always. Don't always eat at the park, but this is our go-to these days.
Picture
They are doing some work in Screampunk, redoing the clock thing we'd guess.
Picture
The steam on the Steam Engine was really steaming. Smelled like Halloween Fog. Is it time yet?
Picture
Overall it was a beautiful and blustery day at the park.
Picture
Remember, the park is open daily from now until Labor Day which means that once the Spring Break period is over the park will be totally empty from about mid-late April until the week of Memorial Day. It's without a doubt the best time of year to experience the park.

We'll remind you again when the time is closer. =)
