Yesterday Randy from Metro Atlanta Coaster Club was out at Six Flags Over Georgia for media day for their all new Justice League: Battle for Metropolis. This is the first of three such rides to open at different Six Flags Parks for 2017. Below we've got some amazing pictures, POV and Reverse POV video and some additional information on how you can ride the ride starting this weekend! Written by Randy Dewberry (All photos courtesy of Metro Atlanta Coaster Club) We'l start off with two amazing videos of Randy on Justice League. One a POV and the other Reverse POV. You can see just how fun this ride is! Time to get our Justice League on The all-important shade and misters are ready! About to join some esteemed company The walls look like real marble! Cyborg sends us on our mission, and looks great doing so! Eager to test out Six Flags' new Justice League 4D dark ride? You have two chances to ride it before the grand opening on May 26. If you're a season passholder, you can try it out next Saturday and Sunday (May 20-21) just by showing your pass. For an even earlier crack at it, purchase a special-edition souvenir T-shirt in the park and you can ride it THIS WEEKEND (May 13-14) between noon-6pm each day! Some additional images courtesy of Six Flags Over Georgia Related Updates: Today we're back at Six Flags Magic Mountain for another look at Metropolis and Justice League Battle For Metropolis. Also, Apocalypse finally reopened this weekend after a lengthy refubishment and re-tracking. Did it help? Read on below. Written by Gregg Condon Here we are back in Metropolis, home of Tidal Wave? Work has begun on Ace O' Clubs Guessing we'll start seeing more visible work going on outside Can't wait to see this done, guessing lots of great stuff is going on inside Mmm Beer It's going to look so great when it's all done Repainting of Riddlers has begun Old and new ... wish it was sunnier so you could see the difference better. I do like the green, haven't seen any of the new support color yet. As we were walking by they were opening Apocalypse. You can see them removing the sign here. It's great to see this ride back in action So did the re-tracking help? Yes and no. The parts that were re-tracked are great. Smooth and fun. They did re-track the worst parts of the ride so that's awesome. Still there are a few parts that didn't get re-tracked and it would have been nice to see the entire ride get a re-track. We're hoping this is a multi-year process and the ride will come back down next offseason for more work to bring it back to where it was on opening day. We can definitely see the reason why the park wants to get the ride open for the busy Summer season. The park is advertising a couple of movies, one of them would make an AMAZING Fright Fest maze. We'll let you guess which one. They are also preparing for their Grad Nite festivities. Swashbuckler is also closed for a refurbishment. Don't think there's any other ride at this park that get's as much refurbishment as Swashbuckler. Drop of Doom was closed due to high winds and sadly not to move the VR off of Revolution and onto the drop ride like some other Six Flags parks. And lastly, we'll leave you with some Twisted Colossus pictures, because why not. Related Updates: Today we've got a quick update from Six Flags Magic Mountain where we'll be taking a look at the progress on Justice League. Apocalypse is also still undergoing some major re-tracking that looks to be more extensive than first believed. Written by Gregg Condon As you can see, it was a pretty busy day (this was taken at around 1:00pm). Seriously, if you can get away on a weekday to visit the park the next 4-5 weeks do it. They've finally added some signs to keep people off of the bus route, that they weren't paying attention to. Moving inside the park, they are still working on Justice League (obviously). Most of the work is probably going on inside right now. At least one would hope. Most of the remodeled food locations have opened and look great. Apparently we missed the re-paint of Studio 6F and Gold Rusher's station that took place a couple of months ago. Oops. The new entrance for Tidal Wave is done, going to be interesting how the route the line and if they make one long switch back in the old queue. (still think this is more work than just making some new DC signs, but we aren't in the theme park business) A look at the rest of Metropolis, Apparently Riddlers got pressure-washed last week so painting should be starting soon, if it hasn't already. No work yet on JB's, but new tables are there. Moving on to Apocalypse, the last word we got from the park was they were hoping the ride would reopen on Easter Weekend. Obviously that didn't happen so we're hoping they decided to re-track more of the ride. Originally it was only supposed to be a couple hundred feet of track. It does appear some work is going on here at the final turn around. And it definitely looks like some work has been done to the first turn around and drop. Alright, that's going to wrap it up for this update, we hope you enjoyed. We've been asked a couple of times when Justice League is going to open, we have no clue. At this point our best guess would be sometime in June (probably when we're in Texas for CoasterCon lol). Related Updates: |
