Yesterday we were invited up to Six Flags Magic Mountain for another tour of The New Revolution and we got a look at the all new trains and all of the great work they've been doing. We also have a fun video of the trains that we posted last night as well as a tour video. For those who like their updates in video form, a full walk-through of our tour including the entire ride area, trains and more. So first let's look at the all new sign for The New Revolution. It's back-lit and is going go look amazing at night. Even during the day with the right lighting it really pops. The station has been completely painted and looks fantastic. Something is sitting over on the transfer track. You can also see the entry to the station is much bigger to accommodate the new trains. Let's take some time and check out the trains ... If you missed it, be sure to check out our video of the trains. Nerd shot!!! The front of the train is not on yet, but it'd be fun to ride it like this too. The restraint mechanism. And while there isn't an "ankle restraint" you can see to the right there is a bar there. The trains have headrests unlike the original trains. Which means the ride can actually run backwards. A look back at the station, just a little bit of work still to do. Brakes ... An overview of all of the landscaping going on They were building the big entry sign We also got to check out the new VR headsets, they were really cool and well done. There will be about 200 headsets which means 40 will be in use for the new riders, 40 for those being loaded and 120 being cleaned or charging. These are totally optional but are definitely worth checking out once. The ADA queue is finished for the most part. Lots of little paths that are presumably for getting up and landscaping the area. Getting ready to put the new sign up We also got a preview of Chop Six which was really good. Lots of "Americanized Chinese" food like Orange Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, a really tasty Tofu vegetarian dish and some WonTon Taco's. If you have a Season Dining Pass you can get a sneak peek of ChopSix this weekend!! A look inside the new Six Flags Emporium. Lots of great work going on inside. The Grand Carousel continues to get a lot of work done, all of the diagrams are being re-done. Plaza Cafe is still getting work done. We got to try one of the new Funnel Cakes at the "World Famous Funnel Cake Factory". The Berry Revolutionary Funnel Cake ... Red Velvet Funnel Cake, Raspberries, Blueberries, Whipped Cream, We hope you enjoyed this look at The New Revolution. Some important notes regarding the opening of the ride:
We're back at SFMM today for another look at The New Revolution which underwent some pretty big changes just since our tour this past Monday. We also have another video update below so be sure to check it out. Enjoy!! Written by Gregg Condon Your weekly reminder to be sure to get your tickets for Mountain Madness 2.0 being held June 5 at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We'll have ERT on The New Revolution, Tours, Lunch and MUCH more. Click here to get your tickets. The biggest change this week is to the loop where they decided to go with all white instead of the blue and white we saw during our tour this past Monday. Below you can see a picture from Monday and below that from Saturday. They were most definitely still painting today. The loop definitely needed another coat of white as some of the blue was still peeking through. They are also setting up the lighting rig on the loop, and it's going to look AWESOME!!! Will be interesting to see if they go with all white or LED's that can change colors. Imagine having different colors for Fright Fest/Holiday In The Park/4th of July/etc. All of the supports in the plaza are now finished. Future "The New Revolution" sign? The station building looks to be done with painting. Lots of landscaping going on where the new ADA entrance will be. Looks like all that's left is the fencing. The queue and station is going with a very subtle "Red, White and Blue". Very nice. They were building the new Ride Control Booth today. Overview of the station LOTS of landscaping going on around the exit of the ride. It's going to be a good spot to see the ride from. The lift hill has been painted!! The ride looks absolutely beautiful. A look down at the station from Rapids Camp They were working on the area just before the ramp drop to the loop. Let's take a look around at what else is changing. It's still Suzette's Bakery. Didn't notice too many changes inside. Uh, aren't these 2015 bottles? And this wasn't the only one of these signs in the park. Flags has been completely gutted and is getting a much needed remodeling. Still the Cyber Cafe. The Grand Carousel is still under refurbishment. It's pretty extensive. It's still called the Orient Express here. Be sure to check out our "Helpful Honda Express" POV below. And lastly, Panda Express is still undergoing it's change to Chop Six. That's going to wrap it up for this update. We hope you enjoyed. We won't have an update next week as we have a family event next weekend. Thanks again for all of the support. It's much appreciated. Today we were invited up for a great tour of The New Revolution now under construction at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The ride is looking AMAZING and we simply couldn't wait to share the update with you. We've also included a walk-through video for those who might want to have a video tour instead of pictures, or both. We wanted to try something a little different so we hope you enjoy it. If you do, let us know and we'll do more of them. Also, don't forget that you can join us on June 5 for Mountain Madness 2.0 where we will have ERT on The New Revolution, food, tours and more. Be sure to click the link to check that out. Pictures by Matthew Nelson Video and Written by Gregg Condon We'll start off with a look at the spectacular loop which looks great with the blue around it. They were applying the primer today so this should hopefully be completed by next week. A closer look, as you can see the primer is definitely not the finished product. Hard at work. According to our tour guide Bruce, the painting portion of the project is about 65% done and the entire project (not counting the trains) is about 75% done. Unfortunately we can confirm that a re-paint of Tatsu is not in the budget, at least not for this year. Along with The New Revolution, the entire front area of the park is getting redone. The Cyber Cafe seen below will now be called the Plaza Cafe. It will have a few new food items and will still offer free WiFi and everything that's inside now. (Confirmed by the park). Flags will now be called Six Flags Emporium and will receive a COMPLETE makeover inside. Suzette's Bakery will be renamed the World Famous Funnel Cake Factory and will also undergo some changes inside to hopefully make it easier to navigate. Their hope is to do the renovations during the week as to allow people to still get Funnel Cakes on the weekends. The Orient Express will now be called the "Helpful Honda Express" which means $$ needed to keep this attraction looking great. And it does. Lastly, the Grand Carousel will remain the same name but will be receiving a full overhaul. Moving on with the tour, white and shiny. As we head into the construction zone we can see all of the great work they are doing. The ride will no longer be themed to "Baja Ridge" but will instead be an "Americana" theme. The water features will not be returning but the entire area is going to be completely landscaped. Some new trees will be planted on the right. The new path is the ADA entrance and that will be near X2. Inside the station some things have changed, much hasn't. Bottom of the second drop heading into the third hill. The lift hill hasn't been painted ... yet. New and shiny A look at the final brake run Place your heads against the headrest because The New Revolution is coming VERY SOON!!! There will be another tour VERY soon and we will of course be there to do another great update. Thanks again for reading/viewing and for all of the incredible support. It's very much appreciated. |
