Since we don't really have much going on at Six Flags Magic Mountain right now, we figured we'd have a special Leap Day Throwback Thursday and take a look back at the front area of the park, which used to be home to the classic flume Log Jammer and is now home to Full Throttle. In this update we've got some pics of the last day for Log Jammer, and a hard hat tour we got of Full Throttle on February 27, 2013. The coaster would open on June 22, 2013. We'll start off with a look at Log Jammer, which closed on October 31, 2011. Sadly it was not announced by the park but we happened to catch wind of it. Thankfully we were able to reach out to the parks PR department and request permission to take some on-ride pics for our last rides. We are thankful that parks have gotten better with announcing ride closures so fans can get their last rides in. Unfortunately at the time, we did not have video equipment to get an on-ride POV.  This building still exists, but with work going on nearby, wonder for how much longer.  The tree is long gone, we hope that sign still exists somewhere.  Still wish they could have found a way to make Log Jammer and Full Throttle co-exist    Did you know: Log Jammer was the most expensive ride to run at the park?  For you control panel nerds. You know who you are.  But it's so fun!! Check out some on-ride pics in the slideshow below  Who thinks these Water Blasters could have still been used for Full Throttle?   Really miss this ride.  Fast forward a bit over a year later to February of 2013, and we were on-site for a hard hat tour for Full Throttle!  This building is also still here, although it is no longer an arcade, but a quick service restaurant.  Our old friend Tim telling us where stuff is gonna go.  You can kind of see where Full Throttle ended up.  Footers, Footers ...  The tour that day was for the first pieces of track being installed for Full Throttle.   Flying Track! Last weekend we were invited out to Six Flags Magic Mountain for one of our favorite holiday events, Holiday at the Park. Even though it was our Anniversary we wanted to make sure we took the time to visit for a few hours and enjoy the park, and we're very glad we did.
​Let's head in for some holiday fun! 
Before we get to the holiday fun though, a look at the updated front entrance where all of the ticket booths have been removed other than the ones on each side.
It definitely opens up this area and it will be interesting to see if they open it up more in the weeks and months to come. We definitely wouldn't be mad if they made the entry plaza after security bigger to accommodate the crowds during the summer for both Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor.
Iconic Park Entry!
Also wanted to take a possible last look at the Golden Bear Theater, which is slated for demolition soon.
Saw so many great shows in here. Weird Al. Jars of Clay. Okay, so like two.
But there were a lot of iconic shows here over the years including Oingo Boingo, New Kids on the Block. Jonas Brothers, Spinal Tap (with puppets).
Could this be the last event displayed on this iconic sign?

Did you know all of the holiday characters come out from backstage here like the monsters in Fright Fest? We didn't. It was very cool, wish we would have known so we could get video.

I have to admit, this is one of my favorite holiday area's of any park.
We end our visit back in the front of the park, with some incredible lights.
Even a bit of haunt fog to enjoy!
