4/9/2025 0 Comments Final Piece Of Track For Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift installed at Universal Studios HollywoodOur good friend Brian was at Unviersal Studios Hollywood yesterday and sent us some fantastic pictures of the final piece of Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift now in place at Universal Studios Hollywood. This marks a major milestone in the progress of this coaster as we move towards an early 2026 opening date. Looking at the site it seems the next step will be the installation of some of the soundwalls for the coaster to meet local regulations. There will of course be many other things going on such as electric, themeing and more. While it may not seem like much is going on for the next few months, there definitely is. Let's get into some pics of the completed track!  A bit out of order, but wanted to start with this shot. Absolutely love this view from Super Nintendo World. Moving from left to right: Track over and under the Starway. Station and queue. Stall element. Track down the hill (in front of the Frankenstein parking structure). Final piece of track (that the Minion had a great shot of).  Heading down on the Studio Tour.  A clear look at the completed final piece.   Here is what it looked like just 2 days prior on Sunday.  As you can see, it's not quite an inversion.   They were still doing a bit of work during Brian's visit.  Some great shots from the exit of The Simpsons Ride. We are going to get some fantastic views from this coaster.  The good kind of sightlines. =)  Heading down to the lower lot.  It will be interesting to see what kind of themeing/landscaping we get in this area.  While the buildings and the view of the valley certainly fit the LA scene of Fast and Furious, I'm still anticipating lots of landscape work going on this summer.  Anybody staying in the Hilton soon? Can imagine some nice views from there.  Fast and Furious 17: Jurassic Drift. Starring Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto and Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcom. You know you'd watch it.  Brian got a little artsy with this one. But I kind of like it.   A look at the track on either side of the final element. Apparently there are launches on both sides of this. 4/7/2025 0 Comments Universal Studios Hollywood Update - April 7, 2025: Fast and Furious Track Almost Completed! Happy Monday Everybody! Today we've got a Universal Studios Hollywood update from our two visits over the weekend. Track work for Fast and Furious is almost completed, we'll show you what it looked like on both Friday and Monday. We also posted a video update on Friday which we'll post below. We've also got some HHN prep, some hillside project progress, CityWalk stuff and FanFest Nights progress. Let's get to it!  This is what the site looked like on Friday. Only difference today is the crane is gone. Can't wait to get some unobstructed views soon!    This is where the last bit of track work was happening over the weekend.  Since our last update, much of the coverings over the queue and station have been removed.  And it looks great!  A peek inside the windows reveals nothing much.     This is what the final gap looked like on Friday (April 4, 2025).  And this is what it looked like Sunday (April 6, 2025) Dang, I did a pretty good job of lining up those two shots without even trying!! Like a boss! =) A couple of different shots from the Studio Tour I'm guessing the park will post some kind of video/pictures of the last piece being set when it happens. It may have already happened for all we know.  Elsewhere in the park, prep for FanFest nights is progressing.   Photo op outside of the Studio Tour exit. This looks so great.  Universal Plaza is getting decked out for FanFest nights  Lots of work going on for whatever this project is. Lots of speculation. Until we hear officially that's all it is.  There is definitely a LOT of space available though. And some construction offices. Hmm.  And here we are, early April and we're already seeing HHN prep. When do they just end up getting permanent tents like Orlando and stop tearing them down every November just to add them back 5 months later?  A closer look from the Studio Tour.    Over on the H-Lot, a new tent has sprung up. This looks to be in a slightly different location than previous years.  We also tried some Butterbeer treats. This is not a "Butterbeer Season" exclusive, but we were disappointed when we had this last time so tried it again. I don't know why, but this is different than what is offered in Orlando. Anybody know why?  We also tried the ButterBeer Cream Puff. We thought it was just "okay". Which created some controversy online.  Lastly, lots of changes coming to CityWalk. Not sure why they're trying this again.  Whatever this is is coming.  Billabong will be something new as well.  We noticed some new (to us) Funko's in the Universal Store. These are super cute.
