    Universal City, Calif., Orlando, Fla., (June 15, 2023) – Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights dares guests to survive “The Last of Us” as Naughty Dog and PlayStation’s award-winning post-pandemic video game comes to life – for the first time – as an all-new haunted house at Universal Orlando Resort, beginning Friday, September 1, and at Universal Studios Hollywood, beginning Thursday, September 7.
     
    Set in a ravaged civilization, where Infected and hardened survivors run rampant, Naughty Dog and PlayStation’s “The Last of Us” video game, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, has captivated audiences since its release. And now, guests can immerse themselves in a real-life experience that puts them directly into the game’s frightening world.
     
    “The Last of Us” haunted houses on both coasts will propel guests into a world of carnage and mayhem as they follow in the footsteps of the game’s protagonists, Joel and Ellie, who endure a brutal journey in a world overtaken by a fungal virus that turns humans into various forms of a new threat known as the Infected. As guests encounter the Infected – Runners, Stalkers and Clickers – along with The Hunters, a band of hostile humans, they will need to navigate the Pittsburgh Quarantine Zone, including iconic locations from the video game such as the creepy and desolate The Hotel Grand and a labyrinth of dark and dank tunnels, in a desperate attempt to escape and survive.

The separately ticketed event, which takes place 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., invites guests to experience a glamorous evening full of merry mashups, delicious tastes and sips, iconic throwback characters, and a holiday vibe full of glitz and sparkle. For an extra dose of cheer, the party wraps with the return of the nighttime spectacular, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!”

    On 25 select nights, Nov. 9-Dec. 22, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will welcome guests to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year at Magic Kingdom Park. Holiday magic is unwrapped with the return of festive favorites like the Christmas extravaganza stage show, “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration,” the sparkling spectacular “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks” and the merry must-see “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.” Guests can also look forward to enjoying some of their favorite classic and thrill attractions, including the new TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise, which will use a virtual queue* during the event.

    Brian Bacica Appointed Park President of Six Flags Great Adventure

    JACKSON, N.J. — June 14, 2023 -- Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has named Brian Bacica Park President for Six Flags Great Adventure properties which includes Six Flags Great Adventure, Hurricane Harbor New Jersey, and Six Flag’s Wild Safari Drive-Thru AdventureIn joining the Six Flags Great Adventure team, Bacica brings with him a diverse knowledge of the attractions industry and a strong history of leadership. 

    Six Flags VP of Operations, Public Safety, Maintenance, and Engineering Jason Freeman was at the park to share the announcement with the Six Flags Great Adventure team. “Brian's years of experience in leadership roles and his diverse background in food and beverage, events, and theme parks, make him the perfect choice to lead these three extraordinary properties,” said Freeman.

    Bacica most recently served as a Regional Vice President at TriMark USA and has held executive positions with Au Bon Pain and PEAK Event Services. He spent much of his career in theme parks including roles with the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA., and Universal Parks & Resorts. Bacica’s theme park experience started as Operations Manager, Food & Beverage at the Disneyland Resort, and was followed by a number of progressively responsible leadership positions with Universal.  Bacica created several revenue-generating initiatives as the SVP of Revenue Operations at Universal Studios Hollywood & General Manager of Universal CityWalk.  As the SVP of Revenue Operations at Universal Orlando, he played an integral part in the successful opening of Volcano Bay Waterpark.
