SIX FLAGS FIESTA TEXAS UNLEASHES WEREWOLF GORGE, THE WORLD’S LONGEST FAMILY LAUNCH ROLLER COASTER

Record-breaking new coaster set for the park’s 35th anniversary season features four launches, 32 airtime moments and unmatched family thrills
    Picture
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (May 30, 2026)Six Flags Fiesta Texas today announced Werewolf Gorge, a first-of-its-kind family launch roller coaster that delivers record-breaking thrills, immersive storytelling and a dynamic multi-generational experience unlike anything else in the world.

Combining a unique mix of ride elements not found together on a single attraction — including four launches, a mid-course rollback and a 39-inch height requirement — Werewolf Gorge represents a true industry first and sets a new benchmark for family thrill attractions.

Set to become the world’s longest family launch coaster and the longest roller coaster in park history, Werewolf Gorge stretches an impressive 4,120 feet and delivers an exhilarating two-minute, 36-second adventure, featuring four launches, speeds up to 45 mph and the highest number of floater airtime elements ever incorporated into a family roller coaster. Manufactured by Vekoma, the coaster brings together a unique blend of launches and airtime to create a standout experience in the family thrill category.

Blending high-energy thrills with broad rider appeal, the new attraction underscores Six Flags Fiesta Texas’ continued investment in innovative experiences families can enjoy together.

“This is a defining addition to Six Flags Fiesta Texas,” said Robert Bustle, park manager at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. “Werewolf Gorge brings together storytelling, innovation and a bold combination of ride elements that truly sets it apart. It delivers an experience that is approachable for families, yet unmatched anywhere in the world.”

    A STORY-DRIVEN THRILL EXPERIENCE
Werewolf Gorge places guests at the center of a mysterious Texas quarry steeped in legend and inspired by the park’s real quarry setting. What begins as a guided tour aboard a rugged mining train quickly transforms into a high-speed escape through twisting terrain as riders encounter a centuries-old werewolf curse.
Throughout the experience, riders will navigate:
    • Four launches that propel the train through quarry walls and dense pine groves
    • A 40-foot drop and 85-foot elevation change integrated into the terrain-driven layout
    • 32 floater airtime moments, delivering a dynamic and weightless ride experience
    • Near-miss moments with towering werewolf figures and immersive scenic elements
    • A climactic finale through a crumbling quarry structure filled with shadowy movement and glowing eyes

The attraction features a fully realized environment that extends beyond the ride itself, immersing guests from arrival to exit. As part of Jasper Bunyan’s roadside attraction, guests will experience themed queue spaces including the Museum of Cryptids and Werewolf Museum, adding depth, humor and world-building to the overall experience.

EXPANDING FAMILY THRILLS IN SAN ANTONIO
With its focus on accessible thrills and high-capacity excitement, Werewolf Gorge continues the park’s strategic investment in family attractions while adding a new signature coaster to its award-winning lineup.

The ride also introduces a new story world centered around Jasper Bunyan, an eccentric entrepreneur who transformed a forgotten quarry into a roadside attraction filled with cryptid lore, interactive exhibits and unexpected danger lurking beneath the surface.

    A LEGEND REVEALED
Six Flags Fiesta Texas has teased the arrival of Werewolf Gorge since 2025 with cryptic full moon activations throughout the park. The attraction was officially revealed during a special evening presentation on May 30, intentionally timed under a rare blue full moon to align with the attraction’s supernatural theme.

Guests experienced a high-energy production inspired by the ride’s storyline, culminating in a dramatic unveiling that brought the legend to life. As guests exited the presentation, the experience continued overhead with a choreographed drone display forming the shape of the new attraction’s logo, delivering a memorable finale to the announcement event.

    COMING SOON
Werewolf Gorge will debut at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 2027 as part of the park’s 35th anniversary season. The best way to experience Werewolf Gorge — along with everything Six Flags Fiesta Texas has to offer — is with a Gold Season Pass or Membership, providing access to multiple parks across the region, including Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, home to the new Wasserbahn Racers, and Six Flags Over Texas, where the record-breaking Tormenta Rampaging Run will debut. and Debut of Anniversary Experiences
GURNEE, Ill. — May 26, 2026 — Six Flags Great America will officially mark its 50th Anniversary with a special Anniversary Day Bash on May 29, celebrating five decades of thrills, memories, and family traditions. At 11:00 a.m. in Hometown Square, guests will be invited to join the festivities with complimentary party hats and a special treat, creating a shared, park‑wide celebration honoring the day Great America first opened its gates in 1976.

Adding to the excitement, the park will welcome back a truly special part of its history. For one day only, the park’s original 1976 barbershop quartet, now known as Four of a Kind, will return to perform throughout the park, bringing the unmistakable sound and spirit of opening year to life.

What began as a friendship among high school students in Greendale, Wisconsin, grew into a defining chapter of their early lives, as the group spent two summers performing at the park - carpooling together, building lasting friendships, and creating memories alongside guests. Now, 50 years later, they return to where it all began for a one‑day‑only reunion, celebrating the milestone they helped shape and sharing their music with a new generation of park visitors.

“Celebrating 50 years is an incredible milestone for Six Flags Great America,” said John Krajnak, Park President of Six Flags Great America. “What makes this season truly special is the people, both past and present, who have brought this park to life every day. This anniversary is our chance to celebrate what made the park special in 1976 while embracing the new experiences we’re creating for today’s guests.”

Beginning May 29, guests will also be able to experience the first of several limited‑time 50th Anniversary offerings, including the opening of the park’s exclusive anniversary shop, featuring limited‑edition merchandise and commemorative items created especially for the milestone season.

In addition, the park will debut its Legacy Museum, an immersive showcase of artifacts, archival photography, retired signage, and memorabilia from the park’s 50‑year history. The experience invites guests to step back in time and explore the evolution of the park from its beginnings as Marriott’s Great America to the world‑class destination it is today.

The celebration continues into the evening as guests are invited to cap off the milestone day with a firework display at 9:30 p.m. The dazzling show will light up the night sky, serving as a breathtaking tribute to 50 incredible years of memories at Six Flags Great America.

Universal City, Calif., Orlando, Fla. (May 21, 2026) – Following an over $370 million global box office run and earning widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike, Warner Bros. Pictures’ Sinners adds “haunted house” to its repertoire as it joins Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights lineup of immersive experiences beginning Friday, August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Since debuting in 2025, Sinners became the highest grossing original horror film, garnering a record-breaking 16 Academy-Award nominations and four Oscar® wins. Written, directed and produced by Ryan Coogler, alongside fellow Proximity Media producers Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, the film takes place in 1930s Mississippi Delta, where twin brothers Smoke and Stack return to their hometown to open a juke joint for their community. Celebration turns to panic as a troupe of unrelenting vampires crash the opening night, threatening to violently curse the guests in a brutal battle for survival.

“It’s been incredible to see audiences connect with Sinners in such a powerful way,” said Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, producers of Sinners and founders of Proximity Media, in a joint statement. “Now, partnering with Halloween Horror Nights gives fans the chance to step even deeper into the world of the film — to feel the music, the atmosphere and the tension all around them. Watching it come to life on this scale has been really special for all of us.”

The terrifying Halloween Horror Nights house will transport guests back in time to the popular Club Juke where they will quickly realize that nothing is as it seems when nefarious, red-eyed vampires Remmick, Bert and Joan appear with their insatiable hunger. As they attempt to evade the vampires at every turn, fans will encounter some of their favorite characters lifted straight from the film, including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline and Cornbread. Caught in a deadly struggle between twins Smoke and Stack and the bloodthirsty vampires, guests must survive the night – because the terror will only relent once the sun rises.

“At Halloween Horror Nights, we push the boundaries of what a live horror experience can be,” said John Murdy, Executive Producer, Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios Hollywood. “Just as Ryan Coogler's Academy Award winning film, Sinners re-invented the vampire movie, we are re-inventing the haunted house and creating new ways to scare our guests that we’ve never attempted and are thrilled to bring this amazing story to life in a truly terrifying and fully immersive way.”

“The moment Sinners premiered, we knew it was an undeniable fit for Halloween Horror Nights and it’s an honor to bring this story to life,” said Mike Aiello, Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort. “It’s rare for a film to fully satisfy hardcore horror fans while also inviting new audiences into the genre—and that’s exactly what Sinners does. Its world, characters and intensity will translate into a relentless haunted house. We can't wait for our fans to step inside and experience the horror firsthand in a way that only Halloween Horror Nights can deliver."

With a selection of event tickets on sale now for both coasts, guests can begin planning their visits to brave Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort this fall.
