    New General Manager Queues Up New Season at Six Flags America & Hurricane Harbor Maryland

    No Joke! Park Opens on April 1
    Bowie, MD — March 1, 2023 -- Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the world’s largest regional theme park company and the largest operator of water parks in North America, today announced that Prince George’s County native Ramar Vaughan has been named general manager of the company’s Maryland-based Six Flags America theme park and Hurricane Harbor Maryland water park. Vaughan most recently served as director of in-park services at the park, a role that he assumed in December 2016.

    “Ramar is a dynamic leader with passion for Six Flags America and the communities we serve. With his proven track record of success, we’re thrilled to have his leadership as we usher in a new era at such an important property,” said Six Flags Vice President Jason Freeman. “Under Ramar’s leadership, the park is working quickly to roll out numerous guest enhancements for the 2023 season, beginning on April 1.”

    Six Flags America opens for the 2023 season on April 1, with Hurricane Harbor Maryland opening Memorial Day Weekend. The park plans to roll out more details on exciting additions, events and park-wide guest enhancements on March 23, 2023. 
    Vaughan’s appointment is effective immediately and is the culmination of his more than 25-year career at the park. Growing up, his father was an educator and his mother worked within administration for Prince George’s County Public Schools. As a Suitland High School and University of Maryland alum, Vaughan has spent his life as a proud Prince Georgian.

    VALLEJO, Calif. — March 1, 2023 — Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the Thrill Capital of Northern California, today announced the addition of a new walkthrough experience that transports guests to a lush tropical environment including encounters with exotic animals--The Rainforest Trail. Set amongst water features and plant life designed to represent the special ecosystem of a rainforest, The Rainforest Trail features over 500 free-flying butterflies from around the world, colorful fish, a sloth, and more. This new animal attraction leads a new wave of enhancements to the park’s animal offerings in 2023, including a newly enhanced Shark Experience.

    At the newly enhanced Shark Experience, guests will discover new state-of-the-art audio and visual enhancements and interactive education opportunities to compliment the existing walkthrough underwater tunnel and floor-to-ceiling viewing windows that have been wowing guests for over 30 years.  The 300,000-gallon exhibit hosts a variety of shark species, other fish, and stingrays from around the world.

    Water park unveils largest investment in more than two decades
    JACKSON, N.J. ─ March 1, 2023 ─ This summer, Six Flags Great Adventure will make a splash with exciting new attractions and offerings at Hurricane Harbor, the Tri-State Area’s premier water park destination.

    The expansion features new slides and an all-new interactive splash play area perfect for the smallest guests, creating a delightful family experience. With exciting interactions, a playful sea creature beach theme, and vibrant colorful slides; children will have more to do at Hurricane Harbor New Jersey than ever before.     World’s First Single-Rail Family Racing Coaster Coming to Six Flags Fiesta Texas for 2023 Season

    All-New KID FLASH Cosmic Coaster Brings Thrills for All Ages
    SAN ANTONIO, Texas — March 1, 2023 — Six Flags Fiesta Texas,  The Thrill Capital of South Texas, is preparing to debut the world’s first single-rail family racing roller coaster this summer.

    The all-new KID FLASH™ Cosmic Coaster, Texas’ only racing roller coaster, is a twin-tracked roller coaster featuring innovative single-rail track and an inclusive train design that provides comfortable seating for both adults and children. The twin tracks cross over and under each other a dozen times during the ride cycle. The two sides operate simultaneously for a racing action on the dueling tracks.

    “Six Flags Fiesta Texas continues to invest in the guest experience and our commitment to providing thrills the entire family can experience together,” said Park President Jeffrey Siebert. “We are proud to be the Kids’ Coaster Capital of Texas with the addition of KID FLASH Cosmic Coaster,” added Siebert.

    KID FLASH Cosmic Coaster will feature an immersive LED lighting panel display integrated into the top and sides of the track. The Aurora LED lighting package will transform the roller coasters tracks into a thematic experience with a variety of preprogrammed display options creating a dynamic ride experience to be enjoyed by riders of all ages.

    Created by Skyline Attractions, this unique coaster will run two trains, on two parallel dueling tracks, simultaneously allowing guests to compete and race to the finish. KID FLASH Cosmic Coaster will span a cumulative 1,158 ft. With a 36” minimum height requirement, the new coaster expands ride offerings for families and young thrill seekers.
    Six Flags Fiesta Texas is now open weekends for the 2023 season. Spring Break, open daily March 11-19, will highlight new thrills like Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger, followed by St. Patrick’s Day March 17-18 and Cinco De Mayo May 6-7.
