Knott's Merry Farm 2021 Opening Day Update

Last Friday we headed out to Knott's Merry Farm to check out the opening day of this years event.

After seeing a lot of pictures from the Passholder preview night on Thursday, with a LOT of people, we were worried the event would be even more busy for the opening day. It was in fact a very pleasant day. I was there a few hours in the afternoon and then back in the evening after the Legoland Tree Lighting (click the link to check out that update).

I was able to try some yummy food and see some of the amazing entertainment at this years event. I saved a few things until we go back to the event so look for another Merry Farm update from us in a few weeks.

Let's head in and have some fun!

Welcome back to Knott's Merry Farm! It's great to be back!

Our first Merry Farm treat was the Turkey Poutine Tots. They were decent, could have used some more gravy and perhaps something sweet/tart like Cranberry Sauce as well.
    Picture
The Holiday Chicken Waffle Taco was very tasty! Wish the Waffle itself would have been a bit crispier, like an actual taco shell, but that was minor. Would eat again!
    Picture
    Picture
Lots of cute and fun merchandise throughout the park!
    Picture
    And some great decorations/photo ops

Missed K-NOT radio every time I walked by here.
    Picture
Is Whiplash ever coming back? It's not even listed on the closed attractions outside the park.
    Picture
    HangTime is back!
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
There is a LOT of really great merchandise, so we figured it would be better if we put it in a slide show.
The Factory Store got a really great new sign. We love it!
    Picture
    The carolers are so great!
    Picture
The Saloon looks great as always!
    Picture
    Picture
I got the Santa's Little Helper as it was the only drink that didn't have Vodka. I don't do Vodka.
    Picture
Lots of great characters in the park
    Picture
The "worst thing ever" cashless machines. It's ok everybody. You'll get used to it.
    Picture
Traffic cooperated coming back from the Legoland Tree Lighting and I was able to enjoy a couple of hours of Merry Farm at night.
    Picture
    Picture
It looks so great I don't even miss the fog. That much. =)
    Picture
Home For The Holidays is such a fun show, a bit cheesy in parts, but pure holiday fun! Not to be missed!
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
Needed the night version of this shot. =)

Santa's Cabin is back and is always a highlight for food and entertainment
    Picture

The Sticky Toffee Pudding was amazing, will definitely be getting this again!

Camp Snoopy at night always looks so great!

Thanks for checking out our Merry Farm update! Our plans are to be back the first weekend in December, so look for a lot more Merry Farm fun soon!

Legoland California Holiday Update and Christmas Tree Lighting with Actress Lacey Chabert

Last week we were invited out to Legoland California to check out their yearly tree lighting ceremony, this year being done by actress Lacey Chabert. While we weren't able to really get that close to the ceremony itself, we did have an amazing time, as well as being able to spend about an hour or so in the park prior to it's closing.

Got to finally ride Deep Sea Adventure (which is really great) and enjoy one of my favorite theme park treats.

Welcome to the Holidays at Legoland California!

    Picture
    Picture

Without much fanfare, Legoland has also gone Cashless. I think Disney and Universal are the only two major parks in Southern California that have not done so yet.

Aqua Zone Wave Racers looks like it may not be coming back.

In May, the area was walled off, but the sign was still there.

It was a beautiful sunset, so took a chance to get some Mini Land pics

Finally got a ride on Deep Sea Adventure. Really enjoyed it! Tried to do a POV, but well, it's Legoland, and loud kids and what not. =)

    Picture

Apple Fries, these are easily in my top 10 theme park treats.

    Picture

Dragon was closed for a refurb.

    Picture

Alright, let's get into the Holiday stuff!

    Picture

Unlike most parks that have decorations most everywhere, Legoland only has them in a couple of spots, but it works here!

    Picture

    The Tree Lighting Ceremony!

    Picture

This was about as close as we got, and this was 3x zoomed.

    Picture

It was a very nice ceremony, as well as lighting the tree, a great donation went to City of Hope! Some B-Roll from the park below!

    Picture

A quick video of the ceremony we tweeted out on Friday is below!

    Picture

First time we'd seen fireworks at Legoland! It was a pretty decent show actually!

Thanks for having us out Legoland! Some more info on the Tree Lighting is below!

Cancer Organization City of Hope Receives $10,000 on Chabert’s Behalf From the Family Theme Park
CARLSBAD, Calif. (Nov. 19, 2021) – Fireworks filled the sky and snow fell onto the crowd as Lacey Chabert, the star of Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas’ new original movie, “Christmas at Castle Hart,” helped Santa pull the switch to light the LEGO® Christmas tree during the 19th annual tree lighting ceremony officially kicking off Holidays at LEGOLAND® California Resort.

Chabert, best known for her award-winning role as Claudia Salinger in “Party of Five,” her role as Gretchen Wieners from “Mean Girls,” and from her roles in more than 26 Hallmark Channel movies, spent the day enjoying the Park’s festive holiday décor before heading to LEGOLAND California’s famous 30-foot tall LEGO Christmas tree created from 245,000 green DUPLO® bricks for the evening’s festivities. Prior to pulling the switch that turned on more than 11,000 twinkling LED lights, Chabert was presented a special LEGO ornament and guests were treated to a first look of the Park’s new Build and Race attraction opening in 2022 and a preview of Chabert’s upcoming Hallmark holiday movie.

At the ceremony, LEGOLAND California Resort donated $10,000 on Chabert’s behalf to the Department of Pediatrics at City of Hope, a cancer research and treatment organization near Los Angeles. Not only does City of Hope provide children and adolescents with leading-edge treatments for cancer or blood disorders, but its scientists also conduct innovative research to bring the treatments of tomorrow to children who need them today.

The annual tree lighting ceremony is part of the Park’s winter celebration, Holidays at LEGOLAND California Resort. Guests can feel the LEGO cheer from Nov. 20 through Jan. 2 with twinkling lights, holiday treats and live entertainment! New this year, the annual holiday celebration will feature a jolly new show in Fun Town: Mrs. Claus’ Gingerbread Bakery! Guests can giggle and cheer as Mrs. Claus and her gingerbread helpers bake sweets for the elves. Kids and families can also boogie on down with the Hip Hop Elf Dancers and Holiday Brass Band as they perform new and classic Christmas jams that will be sure to put everyone into the holiday spirit! Guests wanting to snap the perfect holiday card photo can pose with life-size LEGO models of Santa and his reindeer or with their favorite costume characters which include LEGO Santa, LEGO Toy Soldier and LEGO Gingerbread Man. Families can ring in 2022 with San Diego’s biggest Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 31. All Holidays activities are included with regular Park admission. For information, visit: LEGOLAND.com.

SFMM Wonder Woman Flight of Courage Update #2 and Holiday In The Park - November 22, 2021

This past weekend we headed out to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Magic Mountain! But of course, before checking out all the lights and stuffing our faces, we had to peek in at the progress on Wonder Woman Flight of Courage and the Tatsu repaint!

    Written by Gregg Condon
    Picture

And poof, just like that we've gone from Fright Fest to Holiday In The Park!

    Picture

Some cute photo ops around the park!

    Picture

    Hmm, something is missing

    Picture

The DC Universe Arch is gone! We like it! Can now see all the way back to Batman!

    Picture
    Picture

We still see you there Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth!

    Picture
    Picture

All of DC Unvierse is now blocked off! Excited to see what they do back here!

    Picture
    Picture

Not much difference since our last update, just lots of footers waiting for supports.

    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture

    Soon. Very soon.

    Picture
    Picture

Lots of holes in the fence to get pics and video! Would imagine the park will fix this soon.

    Picture

Tatsu is getting a new (and much needed) paint job!

    Picture

When I first saw the new colors last week they looked Green and Red.

    Picture

But as you can see here, they are Green and a Dark Orange. I like it!

    Picture
    Picture

    The green really pops

    Picture
    Picture

    Ooops, you forgot one! =)

    Picture

Definitely some pressure washing needed here before repainting.

    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture

Best of luck to whoever gets to repaint that part of the coaster.

    Picture

Two of the coaster murals were covered up. Can assume one will be for Wonder Woman. Not sure if one needed to be replaced?

    Picture

Some Holiday merchandise. Definitely not as much variety as Fright Fest.

    Picture
    Picture
    Picture

    Love the Juke Box!

    Picture

A playlist of all the songs in the area! Love it! I really wish this area would keep the 50's/60's car theme all year round. Works MUCH better and much more fun!

Here's the HollyRock playlist for you all on Spotify. I could not find one song, "Home for the holidays" by Vera Lynn.
    Picture

    These are always a favorite!

    Picture
    Picture
    Picture

The tree looks great! But can't wait to see what they do with this area next year!

    Picture

As much as we love this area during Fright Fest, we think it looks even better during Holiday in the Park

    Picture
    Picture
    Picture

    Love how this turned out!

    Picture

    This shake was delicious!

    Picture

That's going to wrap it up! We hope you enjoyed! We'll be back at Holiday In The Park soon!

Disneyland Resort Update: Festival of Holidays, Small World and More

Over the weekend, we had some friends visiting Disneyland and they took over our social media for a couple of days, and sent us some great shots of both the Festival of Holidays and other things around the parks! Enjoy!
