Carnival Cruise Line said today that it is notifying guests that we are cancelling more cruises as we extend our pause in North American operations, with plans to resume on June 27, 2020.

Carnival Cruise Line shares the global priorities of health and safety for all.  We will use this extended pause to continue to take care of the crew that remains on board and continue to bring non-essential crew home.  We are actively engaged with the industry and our stakeholders on additional protocols that we will be implementing when we resume service.  We are dedicated to maintaining confidence in our commitment to protecting the health and safety of our guests, crew and the communities we serve.

We are communicating directly with our guests and travel agent partners and have worked to minimize the disruption by automating the process so that guests and travel agents can manage their options online.  Our offices remain closed at the direction of local government, and while our customer contact center team is now taking calls at home, technology limitations continue to impact productivity and our level of support.  We appreciate the patience of our guests and travel advisors during this unprecedented time.  And we are touched by the many expressions of support for our cruise line and the genuine concern for our onboard team members whose dedication to our guests is the basis for our loyal fan base.

During his twenty-some years serving Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari as park president, my dad—Will Koch Jr.—never missed an opening day. Especially not when a new attraction was on the line. We do everything in our power to uphold his same standard—though circumstances beyond our control may intervene.

It is with a little sadness, but much hope that I can share that we are now planning to open in early June.
You may have a lot of questions, and we’re going to do our best to answer them below, but just know that if this alters your plans, we’re going to take care of you.

We’re still watching reports about COVID-19 from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization carefully and consulting with our colleagues at other parks to figure out how to keep our Team Members and Guests safe when we do reopen.

We’re also changing our operations in ways you may or may not notice. We’ve had our kitchens professionally cleaned this year, and we’re going to have hand sanitizer readily available all over the park. We may even have some temporary closures while we sanitize our rides throughout the day.

We’re still planning to hold the Platinum Season Passholder event–even if we don’t have a finalized date just yet, and we’ll reschedule every other event we possibly can if we’re not able to open in time (please see our question below on HoliWood Nights).

In the meantime, we’re continuing to hire seasonal employees and we’re doing our best to train people online.

The important thing that you should know is that our small-but-mighty team is working hard from home right now. As a family-owned park, we’re feeling the pressure, but we’re also proving how mighty we are when we work together. We may not have the resources of other parks, but we’re ready to fire on all cylinders once we’re back.

And opening day is coming.

What can we say? We’ve been the cleanest park in the world for two decades. You’ve developed high standards, and we plan to continue to exceed them.

We can’t emphasize the importance of following CDC recommendations enough right now. If we’re going to have the best summer ever, we all have to do our part. So please, stay home, continue social distancing, and wash your hands. Help us save summer 2020.

​PIGEON FORGE, TN (Friday, March 13, 2020) --- The coronavirus pandemic is an escalating and ever-changing issue. As a result, The Dollywood Company is delaying the opening of its Dollywood theme park to guests for the next two weeks beginning tomorrow (March 14). Dolly Parton’s Stampede and Pirates Voyage also will be closed beginning March 16. Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa, and Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Cabins will remain open at this time.
 
“We have been following the coronavirus crisis very closely and based on developments within the last 24 hours and in consultation with health experts, we are going to delay our season opening until March 28,” Craig Ross, Dollywood President said. “Despite the delay in opening, we are committed to taking care of our hosts while the park remains closed.”
 
“We need to focus on good health and praying for those who are affected. We know brighter days are ahead,” Dolly Parton added.
 
Dollywood continues to watch the conditions within the East Tennessee area, to consult with its medical experts and to follow CDC guidelines. The park will communicate any additional changes should they occur.
