WB Studio Tour Hollywood - Horror Made Here 2018

    Image description
To say that the Warner Brothers Studio Tour Hollywood "Horror Made Here - A Festival of Frights" was one of our most anticipated events of the entire Halloween season would be kind of an understatement.
In just it's second year, and really, first year that they've really put a lot of hype into the event, the event delivers on everything they've promised. It's selling out every night, and for good reason.

Let's head in and see why!!
    Written by Gregg Condon
Welcome to the WB Studio Tour Hollywood!!
    Picture
We got in a bit early so took the opportunity to check out the layout before it got dark.
    Picture
    Picture
I mean, what else would you call the merch store?
    Picture
Many people's most anticipated maze was Arkham Asylum, and we had a great time during our 3 walk-throughs.
    Picture
It takes a LOT of talent to get skid-marks around a pole. =)
    Picture
The joker is waiting for you!!
    Picture
There was some confusion on opening night as to what we could film vs what we could take pictures of. But we hope you enjoy the combination of both pictures and video in this update!!

Here is a slideshow of Arkham Asylum!!
Returning from last year was the Niebolt House, but not really as it was hugely expanded, and was a great fun maze. Really the only "traditional" maze at the event.

The other two had major show elements, which was amazing and made the event truly unique.
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Hey, you leave Georgie alone!!
    Picture
A video of Pennywise torturing Georgie.
We really loved the way some of the pics from inside the maze turned out. We hope you do too.
Again, what else would you call your arcade? Hope The Lost Boys theme expands in future years, would love to finally see a Lost Boys maze.
    Picture
    Picture
The Exorcist was really cool in concept, they seemed to be having some issues, but it was the first night.

Anybody who's been since know if they've got it figured out? It's an amazing concept!!
    Picture
    Picture
Included with Horror Made Here is a great exhibit of Tim Burton movies, which is part of the standard tour.
    Picture
    Corpse Bride
    Picture
Another great slideshow of the exhibit, which made us want to do the normal VIP tour even more than we already did.
The other really cool thing was the Nightmare on Camp Crystal Lake, which is a walk-through in the forest on the lot. You have to take a tram out to the site.
    Picture
    Picture
It really is great, and dark, and creepy. Everything a haunted trail should be.
Last but certainly not least was the Conjuring Universe experience. We hesitate to say maze, because it wasn't. It was really a mini Haunted Play.

    Somebody is missing ...
    Picture
    Oh, there she is!!
    Picture
    Lots of amazing artifacts
    Picture
    Picture
    Sup Nun!!
    Picture
We really liked how this turned out
Lastly, let's take a look at some of the amazing merchandise both in the regular store and Little Shop of Horrors!
    Need this shirt!!
    And this one
    And all of this
    PIVOT!!
    Potter merch
For more info on the event, click here. Be sure to get your tickets as it sells out every night!! And for good reason.

Halloween Horror Nights 28 at Universal Studios Florida

    Image description
Today we're taking our first look at Halloween Horror Nights Orlando for 2018. Well, really, this is the culmination of 3 different trips to HHN, but who's counting!!

We hope you enjoy this extended look at HHN Orlando, be sure to check back for more pics as we make more visits!!
    Written by Renée Girard
We couldn’t make it to opening weekend of Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando this year, but we’re here tonight for the first of many this season!
    Picture
    Picture
First house of the night was Slaughter Sinema, a great comedy horror house. Really fun!
    Picture
    Picture
The colorful and cute characters in the Revenge of Chucky scare zone.
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
We didn’t do Stranger Things on our first night, but honestly, a 45 minute wait isn’t so bad! Expect peak nights to be much higher, I’m sure.
    Picture
Wait times stayed fairly low and we did every house except Stranger Things.
    Picture
Had a blast watching the dancing in the Vamp 85: New Year’s Eve scare zone. Gotta love Thriller!
    Picture
Beware of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space!
    Picture
    Picture
Twisted Tradition is another awesome scare zone, and one we’ll need to go through when it’s dark out next time.
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
The Trick r Treat house is SO good! I loved the scare zone last year, and it’s so fun to see it back as a house.
    Picture
It looks like another fantastic year at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights! We’ll be back for more real soon!
    Picture
I’d say that the Stranger Things house is a little popular, with a wait time of 105 minutes immediately after the gates open.
    Picture
In addition to the awesome houses and scare zones, Horror Nights has some pretty tasty treats and snacks you need to try!
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
I really love the look of this bar setup at Horror Nights. I haven’t tried the specialty drinks yet!
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
And it’s still Dufftoberfest in Springfield! Pretty cool that they offer a seasonal beer there.
    Picture
We also tried the Horror Nights doughnuts from Voodoo Doughnuts at CityWalk. Yum!
    Picture
The scare zones and scare actors of Horror Nights have all been terrific!
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
And finally at Horror Nights tonight, we’ll count down and party like it’s 1985 with a bunch of vampires.
    Picture
It’s a busy night at Horror Nights but I did 5 houses before 7pm! The front of the park is much more crowded at the moment.
    Picture
    I love these!
    Picture
Stranger Things house wait time as of 7:30pm. Yikes!
    Picture
We'll be adding even more pics to this update on our next visits!! Stay Tuned!!

Queen Mary's Dark Harbor 2018 - Fear Lives Here

    Image description
Dark Harbor is back for 2018 and we have to say, the event is better than ever.

Each and every maze has undergone some amazing changes, some very drastic and two mazes that were constantly struggling to find their way, found their way in a BIG way this year.

Let's head in and get the ship scared out of us!!
    Written by Gregg Condon
    Welcome to Dark Harbor!!
    Picture
The Captain is waiting for you!!
    Picture
As always, the Ringmaster was on hand for the festivities!! She's the best!!
    Picture
Speaking of the Ringmaster ... we got the chance to go through Lullaby with her. Yes, Lullaby, which definitely was an interesting experience as you'll see below.
Even the stages are bigger this year!!
    Picture
    Picture
Deadrise is back, our favorite dead sailors are up to no good again.
    Picture
Our favorite end-of-maze moments are always found at Deadrise.

Although, having the entry and exit in the same place means people are pretty much expecting it at this point. Still, we managed to get some great reaction shots below.
    Picture
    Picture
Feast was back this year, in a new location and was a lot of fun yet again!! Crawling through the grinder was interesting as always.
    Picture
The food options were MUCH improved this year!!
    Picture
Watch out as you head into B340
    Picture
Speaking of B340, wow, talk about a huge plus over the previous year. Simply fantastic and is not to be missed.
    Picture
Circus was back, we tried to find the hidden bar like last year but it was not to be.
    Picture
    Picture
Our early season vote for best year-to-year improvement of an existing maze HAS to go to Intrepid. This one has really struggled to find it's way.

We are VERY happy to say Intrepid has found it's way. And it may have been our absolute favorite maze of the entire event. It's THAT good. Kudos to Jon Cooke and his amazing team for breathing new life into this maze.
    Picture
Thanks to Queen Mary for another fantastic year of Dark Harbor!! We hope to be able to return again before the season is over.

    Coaster Road Trip to Floribama!!

    Image description
Raise your hand if you think we've had too many Halloween updates lately!!!

Well, we aren't gonna raise our hand, but we know some of you feel that way.

Why don't we take a break from Halloween and look at a fun road trip Renee recently took to some out of the way parks in Alabama and Florida!!
    Written by Renée Girard
Today we’re on a random road trip in the south! First stop of the day is The Track in Gulf Shores, AL.
    Picture
We’re here for the spinning coaster! Park #1 of the day completed.
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
Next stop, The Park at Owa! Unfortunately it opens an hour later than advertised on the website, which puts a slight dent in our schedule, but we’ll make it work!
    Picture
It looks like they’re getting ready for Halloween festivities.
    Picture
    Picture
There are some nice places at OWA, almost like a mini CityWalk. We decided to grab some drinks at the Groovy Goat.
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
We’re in! The Park is really nice. Everything looks great and clean.
    Picture
First coaster ride at OWA is crazy mouse. Whoa, this thing can spin!
    Picture
There is a decent selection of flat rides here as well.
    Picture
Southern Express is the kiddie coaster at OWA . Might as well get a ride on it!
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
And then there’s Rollin’ Thunder, which one of our friends accurately described as the equivalent to being pushed in a shopping cart.
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
On to our next park!! The main reason for this trip, Waterville USA for the final weekend of Cannonball Run. Got our first and last rides in today.
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
Our final stop of our coaster tour in the south in Sam’s Fun City in Pensacola, FL.
    Picture
We talked our way on to the Miner Mike kiddie coaster at Sam’s Fun City. A new low, but hey, why not when you travel a great distance.
    Picture
    Picture
And finally, to conclude our trip, we rode the Emerald Coaster at Sams Fun City, which only opened at the top of the hour, so getting another beer was the obvious choice. The coaster was surprisingly smooth!
    Picture
    Picture
    Picture
We hope you enjoyed this look at some out of the way parks!! We'll get back to our regularly scheduled Halloween updates tomorrow. =)
