I had the pleasure of spending the evening at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
They were showcasing Mardi Gras floats, a grand parade, and food fit for Fat Tuesday. The parade was seriously a showcase! The vibe was incredibly New Orleans style.
The music brings you there. Every float had a different theme and the music to back it up. It was quite the event and Fiesta Texas brought it to you in New Orleans fashion.
We had the pleasure of hanging out with Kaitlin Elliot after the parade and she was a gem. One of the talented people twirling a flag. Had a great time learning about the training and the amazing efforts that go into creating such an amazing event. It is truly incredible.

Now for food!!! My favorite part. The food was soooo yummy. I have to admit I had my doubts about them bringing me New Orleans style cuisine ....but they proved me wrong.

The po boy sandwiches were on point, especially the fried craw-fish po boy!!! Wow! I actually asked for extra sauce...it was that yummy!!! The muffaletta was so good and served with Voodoo chips that were pretty spectacular. I seriously need these in stock at my local grocery store. I will be going back just to buy these chips!!! The jambalaya was soooo tasty and the gumbo was amazing. They did Cajun food justice, and I was thrilled to try all of it.

We all know the rides and eats are great here at Fiesta but everyone needs to come experience this. Truly some great family fun with great drinks and great food. Definitely not lacking in the entertainment area at all.
Every character is so fun. If you do drink adult beverages try the Hurricane punch...so tasty!!! Beautiful characters throughout and amazing entertainment. I literally had 46 pairs of beads after the parade finished and didn't have to flash anyone.... but I gave most of them to kids. My kinda Mardi Gras!!!

Truly an amazing family event. Look for the adorable Kaitlin twirling her flag. She is so sweet with the kiddos and such a talent to watch along with everyone in the parade. You truly don't want to miss this event. I will be going back with my family and friends to experience every part of it. If you blink you will miss something!

As you can see, all of the stages they were tearing down on the lower lot are completely gone. 

These were taken last Thursday so the rest of the rubble is surely gone by now. 

They are also continuing work on the 4th Starway escalator

Wonder if we'll get some HHN mazes on these empty spots before construction begins on whatever it is they're building.

​MASON, Ohio – The new Mystic Timbers roller coaster at Kings Island took its first test run Monday.
 
Park officials, engineers, technicians and construction workers stood by and watched as the 24-passenger train made its way through 3,265 feet of track.
 
Themed to an abandoned lumber company, Mystic Timbers will traverse 16 airtime hills through wooded terrain and over water at speeds up to 53 mph with a mystery for riders: What’s in the shed?
 
Mystic Timbers makes its debut when Kings Island opens for its 45th anniversary season April 15.

​Tonight we are also making a quick stop at Epcot to see some of the Flower & Garden Festival that just started recently.

​The character topiaries are always a highlight of the festival. Looks great so far! 

​And let's not forget the food & drinks! At Urban Farm Eats, I tried the Crabless Cake with Wildflower pale ale.

​The Berry Basket is new this year. Might have to make a stop there next visit!

Florida Fresh is a favorite stop of mine, mainly for the beer! 

​Chocolate cake at the Smokehouse is amazing!

They have a great selection of merchandise for the festival. Loving all the Figment. I might have bought the Mickey ears.​

Epcot looks just beautiful this time of year.​

​During sunset is a lovely time to take a walk around and smell the flowers at Epcot.

​And when the sun goes down, the topiaries all light up and it is also quite magical.

Enjoyed our short visit to Epcot for a bit of Flower & Garden Festival fun. Since it runs through May, we'll definitely be back!​

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a testament to the very first Zelda game, where exploration and discovery were the driving points of it. Breath of the Wild kicks out standard Zelda formula by giving barely any tutorial and letting you explore a vast open world, and allows you to find things out by yourself. 

​The story is something I was worried about as Open World games struggle with having decent stories, but this game does it right. Rather than having an objective and forgetting about it, it's up to you to find out what happened to the world and piece together the story as you explore, adding to the sense of discovery. I can confidently say that this is the best Zelda story. 

The game play is also the best in the series. Outside of battle, you can literally climb every surface, except for dungeon and shrine walls as that would ruin the puzzles. The weather affects how you go about playing the game. If it's raining, everything is slippery, so it's harder to climb, but your footsteps are clouded by the rain so you can sneak up on enemies. If there's a thunderstorm, you will get struck by lightning, but if you throw something metallic at an enemy, they'll get struck by it. If it's too hot or too cold, you'll take damage unless you have the right clothing or cooked the right food. Cooking is extremely simple but so addicting to see what you can make. Simply put some ingredients in a fire and watch Link cook. 

​The actual battle mechanics are very simple but also complex. Every type of weapon (Swords, Spears, and heavy weapons) has a standard combo, but if you dodge an attack right before it hits, you slow time down and can do a flurry of attacks. If you put your shield up right before they hit you, you will parry and the enemy will be stunned. While this sounds really easy, this is really hard to pull off when your not used to looking for dodging attacks right before it hits. It takes a while to study the enemy and how they move, something that's really rewarding. The game is not easy, both in puzzle solving and combat. Out of the three main dungeons and 70 shrines I've done, very few have been super easy. Shrines are very useful as you get a Spirit Orb when you beat it, and getting 4 rewards you with either a Heart Container which extends your life, or a Stamina Vessel that increases your stamina. And your weapons break through extensive use, which adds a sense of strategy.

​The game looks and sounds amazing. It really shows what Nintendos new console can do, although there's some frame drops when there's a lot going on. The sound is the best I've heard in a while, and I'm not just talking about that music. The sounds everything makes immerse you into the vast world. The way Links equipment hit his back. The way his feet slosh in the grass when it's raining, or hearing a far off Lightning strike. This world feels like the most alive world in any game I've played, and I love it.

​This game has gotten so much praise, and it deserves all of it. It's nearly perfect, some might even argue it is perfect. It is one of the best games to come out in recent years. It's one of, if not the best Zelda game ever, and one of the best games of all time. I cannot recommend this game enough.

We got our hard hats ... on

We also did confirm where the entrance for Justice League will be which will cause the Riddlers queue to be rerouted a bit (good news as the queue is crazy long)

Right now it's essentially a warehouse, but not for long.

As you can see the work being done on the food locations is quite extensive 

We asked again about the Tidal Wave entrance being moved and they did confirm that it's going to be moved over towards the games (where the flash pass entrance is now). Maybe it's just us but that seems like so much more work than just re-theming the ride to Aquaman or The Penguin. 

The gas station is completely gone, will be interesting to see what they do with the rest of the Riddlers themeing when they re-paint it. 

Interested to see this completely re-done as well. It's been time for awhile.
