Wayback Wednesday - 2004 Six Flags Fiesta Texas Park Map

Have some fun for you all today. Typically we'd do this on a Thursday, but we have something special coming up tomorrow and we don't want to take away from that.

While cleaning out the garage last week I found a map from our visit to Six Flags Fiesta Texas all the way back in 2004.

It's interesting to see how much the park has changed. Equally interesting are the sponsorship portions of the map. Food items that no longer exist. Seeing them is a definite time capsule.

    Hope you enjoy!

Disneyland Update - July 14, 2025: Tiki Room Refurbishment and new Lillian Disney Window on Main Street

Yesterday we headed out to Disneyland for a nice family day in the park, so not a whole lot of pictures or anything, but we did check out the newly reopened Enchanted Tiki Room which looks better than ever after it's recent refurbishment.

The park also unveiled a new window dedicated to Lillian Disney on Main Street to celebrate the 100th Wedding Anniversary of Lillian and Walt.
    Picture

In addition to all of the work inside the show itself, all of the Gods and Goddesses in the garden have been fixed. Some of these effects haven't worked in years. It's great to see.

    Adios Jose. Until next time.

As mentioned, a new window was dedicated to Lillian Disney, something that is long overdue. But she got a beautiful one for sure. We sadly missed the ceremony itself, but did get a chance to see the window shortly after.

    Picture

The window is located just above the Disney Showcase. Hope you enjoyed this quick update from Disneyland!

Record-breaking AlpenFury Opens This Weekend At Canada's Wonderland

New coaster features two launches and nine inversions,
the most for any launch coaster in the world
VAUGHAN, ON (July 10, 2025) – The wait is almost over! This Saturday, July 12 Canada’s Wonderland will debut AlpenFury, the country’s longest, tallest and fastest launch coaster.

When fire and ice meet inside the mysterious Wonder Mountain, the force will propel guests into a thrilling journey on AlpenFury, the park’s 18th roller coaster. It begins with a launch that blasts riders into the depths of the mountain, followed immediately by a second that sends the train vertical through the mountain summit, 50 metres into the sky. Guests will then race across a track that spans the park, reaching speeds of 115 km/h, flipping and twisting through nine breathtaking inversions – the most in the world for a launch coaster.

“AlpenFury will deliver an epic, record-breaking thrill,” said Heather Hill, park manager and vice president of operations. “With the combination of the two launches, that straight vertical climb and nine wild inversions, it will provide an action-packed, unforgettable experience. We’re excited to add AlpenFury to our lineup of world-class attractions.”

    Ride AlpenFury for Charity
For almost 40 years, Canada’s Wonderland has been a proud supporter of SickKids Hospital in Toronto. This month, the park is hosting a fundraiser called Ride for a Cause Day on Friday, July 18 benefitting the children’s hospital.

Tickets for the VIP event are $125 each and include parking, admission to both the park and Splash Works for the day, a two-hour exclusive ride time on AlpenFury and six other rides (from 8 to 10 a.m.), an AlpenFury on-ride FunPix photo and a private catered lunch. The first 200 ticket purchasers also receive an AlpenFury poster by Made to Thrill. The ticket package is valued at more than $250. All proceeds will go to SickKids. Guests can purchase their July 18 Ride for a Cause tickets online now before they sell out.
