LONG BEACH, Calif. (July 17, 2024) – The most memorable monsters, the most frightening films, the most horrific haunts, and the most fun any horror fan can have outside of Halloween will all come to the Long Beach Convention Center July 26 to July 28 as MIDSUMMER SCREAM returns for its biggest event ever.
Three-day general-admission passes have sold out, but a limited number of single-day passes and weekend VIP “Gold Bat” passes for MIDSUMMER SCREAM may still be available for purchase at www.MidsummerScream.com.

A non-stop, weekend-long celebration of all things Halloween and horror, MIDSUMMER SCREAM serves as the official kickoff to spooky season. It combines unique experiences like the massive Hall of Shadows—which brings together multiple walk-through haunted attractions and displays in one location—with a spook-tacular lineup of celebrities, presentations, panels, activities and events, along with more than 300 vendors offering their wicked wares.

This year’s MIDSUMMER SCREAM is shaping up to be the largest yet, with 50,000 people expected to haunt the halls of the Long Beach Convention Center. Every event and activity throughout the weekend can be found on the official Midsummer Scream app, downloadable from all major app stores for mobile devices—here’s a quick glimpse at what’s in store for attendees during three fright-filled days:

  • Presentation by Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights and an interactive photo-op from Universal Products & Experiences, featuring Universal Monsters, Chucky and M3GAN;
  • Lionsgate’s Gears of Fear a special immersive attraction that marks the first studio-produced walk-through experience within the Hall of Shadows and showcases the company’s legacy of horror;
  • Additional  presentations offering sneak peeks at the most popular West Coast destinations of the Halloween season, including Knott’s Scary Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest, Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, Castle Dark at Castle Park, the Winchester Mystery House, and Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group (Delusion, Haunted Hayride and more);
  • Paramount Scares display and appearances by Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat from the Paranormal Activity films;
  • Opportunities to see horror legends Cassandra Peterson (aka “Elvira, Mistress of the Dark”) and David Dastmalchian, star of Late Night With the Devil, among other popular stars and celebrities appearing throughout the weekend;
  • “The Screaming Room” short film festival presented by HorrorBuzz;
  • A special presentation by L.A.’s most shocking theatrical experience, “Urban Death”;
  • JFI Productions haunts the show floor to celebrate the return of CREEP Los Angeles, begging the question: “Do you believe in Ghosts?”

And that’s just the beginning! Throughout the three days, MIDSUMMER SCREAM also presents the popular Black Cat Lounge, offering guests an opportunity to meet and adopt cats and kittens; Paranormal Pixie’s Pumpkin Patch, a “scare-free” zone for the youngest fright fans; and more than 300 vendors specializing in a horrific, haunted and delightfully devilish array of products.

“We’ve been truly overwhelmed by the response fans have had to Midsummer Scream and the way this event grows by leaps and bounds every year,” said David Markland, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Midsummer Scream. “We broke attendance records in 2023 and are on track to do the same this year, proving that Halloween is a state of mind that lasts throughout the year, and horror fans are incredibly enthusiastic and passionate.”

In addition to planning each day’s activities using the MIDSUMMER SCREAM app, Halloween fans can be the first to know what’s coming to MIDSUMMER SCREAM by signing up for the event’s digital newsletter at www.MidsummerScream.com and by following @midsummerscream on Facebook and Instagram.

Single-day passes for MIDSUMMER SCREAM range from $38 for adult admission to $150 for a three-day VIP “Gold Bat” pass. Except at the Gold Bat pass level, children under 10 are free with an accompanying adult.
