Four New Frightening Attractions Headline SCarowinds’ 25th Anniversary

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – August 11, 2025 – SCarowinds presented by SNICKERS® is going Hollywood this fall with an all-new haunted attraction featuring The Conjuring Universe. Unlike any maze, The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is an all-new, interactive SCREAMium experience that invites guests to navigate iconic scenes from New Line Cinema’s blockbuster horror franchise as they work to lock away cursed artifacts before supernatural chaos is unleased.
 
Guests will encounter legendary entities such as The Nun, The Crooked Man, and The Ferryman as they race to restore order and lock Annabelle back in her secure box—or risk catastrophic consequences for the living realm. With state-of-the-art effects, screen-to-scream environments, and a series of chilling interactive challenges in an experience spanning more than twenty minutes, The Conjuring: Beyond Fear plunges guests deeper than ever before into The Conjuring Universe.
“The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is the biggest and boldest haunted attraction to open at SCarowinds,” said Brian Oerding, park manager and vice president. “Guests will be immersed into cinematic nightmares like never before, welcoming a new era of fear and next-level experiences for our guests.”
 
The Conjuring: Beyond Fear will open in Carowinds’ Aeronautica Landing Theatre, a nearly 3,600 square-foot venue in the Aeronautica section of the park. It is recommended for guests aged 13 and up; parental discretion is strongly encouraged.
 
Terrifying New Additions in 2025
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, SCarowinds will debut a total of four new attractions, a scare zone and a live stage show, including:
  • The Conjuring: Beyond Fear – SCREAMium Attraction
  • Defex 2.0 presented by M&M'S®– New Haunted Maze
  • Silver Scream Studios: 25th Anniversary Director’s Cut presented by SKITTLES®– New Haunted Maze
  • Glitch – New Scare Zone
  • DepRAVed – New Live Show
Admission to SCarowinds includes all rides, live shows, scare zones, street entertainment and daytime events like Tricks and Treats and Oktoberfest. New this year, guests will need to purchase a Haunted Attractions Pass to visit haunted mazes. The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is a SCREAMium experience that requires separate purchase for access and is not included with park admission or a Haunted Attractions Pass. 2026 Passes Now Available During the MVP Sale
 
2026 Season Passes are now available, and to celebrate Carowinds is offering an MVP (Most Valuable Pass) Sale through Sept. 1.
