Scarywood Unveils New Haunt for 2024

Picture
ATHOL, ID – “Ready or Not,” spooky season is just around the corner. This means that for the 15th season, Silverwood Theme Park will transform into Scarywood Haunted Nights, opening on Friday, September 27th, and concluding on November 2nd.
NEW for 2024, get ready for The Swine. Once upon a nightmare, three little KILLER pigs lived in a large cornfield, hidden from the world behind towering stalks and twisted vines. These were no ordinary pigs; they were clever, vengeful creatures, their hooves stained with blood. These pigs didn’t fear the big, bad wolf—in fact, they relished hunting him down, along with anyone foolish enough to enter their deadly maze. This is not a fairy tale, but the dark, forgotten chapter of the story you thought you knew.

According to Sara Meddock, Public Relations Manager, The Swine will scare even the most well-composed guest. “The new haunt is so terrifying, you’ll never want to eat bacon again,” Meddock said. “And for those who join us year after year, we are bringing back a fan favorite. Be on the lookout for Pig Mama because she’s angry. And nobody wants to cross an angry hog.”

There will also be a NEW Trick or Treat Scare Zone to bring a little nostalgia to the streets of Scarywood. All tricks, no treats. Healthy candy (nothing is more frightening than a box of raisins) is the least of your worries this year as all of your childhood fears reemerge. What could possibly go wrong?

Also returning this year are four haunted walk-through attractions, including:
  • Chuckles 3D Sideshow - Send in the clowns. Chuckles the Clown is a maniacal lunatic. A loose cannon with one too many screws loose. Because of his antics, he was voted out of Clowntown and sentenced to live in solitude as an outcast at the edge of Scarywood. Taking matters into his own hands, he decided to create his own funhouse and get one last laugh.
  • Planet Zombie: Lights Out—We’ve been fighting the zombie horde for years, and we are losing ground. The infrastructure is failing, and the electrical grid is destroyed. Few survivors are left, and getting to the checkpoint without infection is up to you. Your only lifeline is a small red flashlight as you navigate the dark streets of Planet Zombie. Good luck.
  • Blood Bayou - Enter the Bayou, where the blood flows freely, and cannibals lurk behind every corner. This fan favorite is back in 2024, and it will leave you screaming at the top of your lungs. Don’t stay too long in Blood Bayou, or you might end up as tonight’s dinner…
  • Pharaoh's Curse: Enter the Valley of the Queens, where the splendors have been stolen, and an ancient evil has been awakened. All who enter will be cursed forever. This walkthrough haunt will keep you on your toes in anticipation of what’s around every corner. Luckily, if you don’t survive, you will already be in a tomb.

Tickets will sell out and are only available to purchase online. All of Scarywood's haunted attractions, as well as other Silverwood rides, including the jaw-dropping Timber Terror Roller Coaster (which will be running backward), will be open.
