5-Month-Old Cougars Join Stunning Lineup of Holiday Themed Attractions, Food, and Entertainment

​VALLEJO, Calif. — November 16, 2023 — Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the Thrill Capital of Northern California, today announced the arrival of two female cougar cubs as part of the stunning experiences guests can enjoy during Holiday in the Park. The annual holiday event begins November 24 celebrating a special delivery of five month old Kayah and Aiyana who now weigh, just over 30 lbs.. Guests can visit the cougar cubs as well as enjoy breathtaking holiday displays, themed entertainment, seasonal food, and world class rides as part of the 16th annual Holiday in the Park.

“Visiting Six Flags for Holiday in the Park has been an annual tradition for families all across Northern California for years,” said park spokesperson Marc Merino. “For the 16th year of the event, our team is excited to continue to raise the bar of the guest experience with newly themed areas, delicious festive food offerings, and our early holiday gift, five month old Kayah and Aiyana.”

Kayah and Aiyana will play an important role at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom as ambassadors for their counterparts in the wild, educating and delighting guests in the newly updated Cougar Rocks are of the park.

Holiday in the Park will operate select days, November 24, 2023 through January 7, 2024. New and time-honored traditions included with park admission are:

  • NEW! Looney Tunes Sweetport - Encounter sweet smells and sights with giant candy canes and lollipops;
  • NEW! Jingle Junction - Holiday activities are a plenty with rides, face painting, cookie decorating and more;
  • NEW! Christmas Tree Plaza - Observe in wonder the new towering Christmas tree, which will be the focus of a nightly tree lighting ceremony;
  • Celebration Station - Learn how the holidays are celebrated amongst different cultures around the world;
  • Winter Wonderlane - Dazzling lights, a giant snowman and snowflakes falling from the sky make this an area no-to-be-missed;
  • Santa’s Toy Land - Find larger than life Nutcrackers, dolls and toys of all kinds ready for Santa to deliver;
  • Christmas Tree Forest - Dozens of trees spark awe as they twinkle to a synchronized light show.
