Families Can Enjoy an All-New Show and Returning Fan-Favorite Halloween Fun at Sesame Place San Diego This Fall with The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular​

SAN DIEGO, (August 31, 2026) – Sesame Place® San Diego is celebrating fall with the return of the fan-favorite event The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular. Guests will celebrate Halloween with Sesame Street friends with all-new and returning offerings including an all-new show, Halloween-themed parade, trick-or-treating and scavenger hunts throughout the park, and more! Enjoy a not-too-spooky day of Halloween fun at Sesame Place San Diego, plus all the rides and water slides, photo opportunities and so much more that the park offers regularly. The family-focused Halloween event will run every Saturday and Sunday from September 12 through November 1.
 
Celebrate Fall with Spooktacular Family Fun
The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular is back and better than ever offering a season full of festivities for the whole family. Event offerings include:
 
  • ALL-NEW Monster Mayhem Game Show: Join the loveable monsters of Sesame Street for a fun, ALL-NEW interactive game show! Cheer your team on and grab some furry hugs as your Sesame Street friends lead you through some monstrously fun games like Monster Pumpkin Toss, the Monster Matching Game, and more! Don't miss this ALL-NEW Halloween show at the Sesame Street Theater.
  • Trick-or-Treating – Trick-or-Treat around the park and gather special Halloween treats! Treats will be available at Big Bird’s Nest, Neighborhood Stoop, Park Photo, Hooper’s Store, and other select locations around the park. Guests are asked to purchase reusable tote bags to participate in trick-or-treating, they are available for purchase at Hooper’s Store, Sesame Souvenirs, and select merchandise carts.
  • Halloween Costume Parade – Kids and families can show off their Halloween costumes daily at Abby's Garden and take a fun stroll through the Sesame Street Neighborhood.
  • Sesame Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt – Guests can pick up a complimentary scavenger hunt sheet at Guest Services and enjoy finding scarecrows throughout the park. Complete the scavenger hunt to claim a Halloween prize!
  • Halloween Dine with Elmo – Join Elmo, The Count, and more Sesame Street friends for a silly Halloween celebration.  Guests will enjoy a delicious buffet meal and take photos with their favorite furry friends in their costumes.
  • Spot-the-Ghost Scavenger Hunt – Participate in this exciting hunt by purchasing a map to find friendly ghosts and win a Halloween prize.
  • Halloween Storytime – Families can gather around and hear a Halloween tale with a Sesame Street friend at Big Bird’s Nest.
  • Halloween Costume Contest – On October 31, guests are invited to wear their most dazzling Halloween costume, and sign up for the annual Costume Contest. Prizes are awarded for the first, second, and third place costumes in both the Child and Family categories.
  • Photo Opportunities – Make memories with your favorite furry friends all dressed in their Halloween costumes! Photo opportunities can be found at Photos with Elmo & Friends and in the Sesame Street Neighborhood.
 
Halloween Costume Policy
All guests are welcome to dress up in Halloween costumes. Guests who are ages 13 and older may not wear full face coverings, costume masks, or hoods, and all costumes are subject to the normal dress code for the park. Face painting is not permitted on any guests unless it is done by park face painting artists.
 
Attractions for the Whole Family
During the fall season, Sesame Place invites guests to enjoy a full day of excitement with water attractions open through October. Splash around in the family-friendly wave pool, float down the lazy river, and let the little ones zoom down slides made just for them. On cooler days, guests can enjoy the heated Big Bird’s Beach wave pool and Big Bird’s Rambling River. In addition to splishy splashy water fun, the park offers dry rides and attractions for all ages, from a child’s first roller coaster and a colorful carousel to an Elmo-themed rocket ship adventure. Plus, don’t miss the interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood, featuring the iconic 123 Stoop, Big Bird’s Nest, and Oscar’s trashcan, where Sesame Street truly comes to life!
 
The best way to enjoy the park is with a 2027 Season Pass, taking advantage of a great offer to purchase the 2027 Season Pass early with 25% off for a limited time. The Season Pass can be used for the rest of 2026 and through January 2, 2028. The 2027 Season Pass includes unlimited admission, FREE parking, FREE friend tickets, in-park discounts, and more.
