Six Flags

Last Friday I made a quick stop at Six Flags Magic Mountain on my way up to the Bay Area for some coaster fun at Discovery Kingdom and Great America (those updates are coming up over the next couple of days).

Lots of work going on with the 2022 Coaster Project (rumored RMC single rail coaster).

I did have to keep reminding myself that this is now the 2022 project, not 2021, even uploaded the video below as 2021 at first. Thanks to the commenters for catching that for me! This is why you don't edit and narrate video at 7am from a hotel room. =)

Welcome to Magic Mountain! Getting into the park was super easy, more touchless security checkpoints have been added. Wish more parks would go this route.

Headed straight to the back of the park for some solo rides on West Coast Racers, Apocalypse and Gold Rusher.

I guess I could have ridden Tatsu, but I'm honestly not a fan of it. I'll give it my yearly courtesy ride at some point.

The park is looking great!

The underground at about 10:40 or so.

Solo rides are so fun! I did get a few of these over the weekend!

Apocalypse was running well, still could use a bit of track work in a couple of spots

Let's check out what's going on with the 2022 coaster!

Picture

There is fence from the exit of Riddlers all the way around the planter towards the bbq restaurant.

Picture

Tidal wave is being removed. While this was inevitable, can't help but feel a park as big (and as hot) as SFMM needs more than 2 water rides.

Picture

The Dining area is still open, but no shade

Picture

Tidal Wave sign is gone

Hope they keep the outer wall as it looks really nice

Over on the DC Universe Side, more walls

Most of the signage for Green Lantern is still up, maybe the new coaster will keep that theme?

Picture

The facades have been removed, which is odd. Most likely they were in the way of the coaster layout.

The warehouse there stores all of the prizes for the nearby games. Wondering if it will remain. Time will tell.

Here you can see the flume for Tidal Wave being removed

Batman just reopened from a new paint job and refurbishment. It's looking and running great!

We hope you enjoyed the update, we'll be back at the park in a couple of weeks for more fun and updates.
