Universal Studios Hollywood Update: Fast and Furious, Off-Season Projects, Holidays and Wicked!

Happy Monday and welcome to an all new update from Universal Studios Hollywood! We've got a lot to show you today! Of course the big project going on now is Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift, still looking like an early 2026 opening. But there's some other projects going on at the park. 

In addition, Wicked has taken over a good chunk of the park and if the movie is as big as we think it's going to be, maybe even a bigger footprint in the future. 

​Let's get into it! 

They've done so much work over the past few months, but there's still a very long way to go.

There are going to be so many amazing views of this coaster.

Lots of supports for track and a launch (the a-frame box supports)

You can see here how much work is still to be done.

The coaster will run from the upper lot, to the lower lot and back!

A look at the station and queue building

Pretty sure this is the max height of the building.

From the backside, a lot of work done, and lots to be done.

Can't wait for these amazing coaster views.

Moving down to the lower lot, some work going on with the hill behind Mummy. Lots of speculation what this is for, but nothing confirmed.

They've completely walled off the area from the Mummy queue.

Jurassic Works is also down for it's annual refurb. Great to see work going on.

Holidays are slowly showing up at the park.

And of course, lots of holiday merchandise!

Really like these ornaments and the hoodie.

Grinchmas merch is back, we show a lot of it off in our update video linked above.

Lots of new Hogsmead for Christmas merch this year!

As I mentioned, Wicked has completely taken over the park.

Even a Wicked store on the upper lot. These pics are from a couple of weeks ago that we never posted.

As we wrap up, a look at the tree in CityWalk.

Production Central is still closed and is rumored to become an Epic Universe preview center.

Work is still taking place for the new Escape rooms. A great use of this space.
