Six Flags Over Texas Unveils First Train for Record-Breaking  Tormenta Rampaging Run Roller Coaster

Dual reveal took place at both the park and theme park industry’s premier annual tradeshow
ARLINGTON, Tex. -- Nov. 19, 2025 -- Six Flags Over Texas unveiled the train for Tormenta Rampaging Run, the record-breaking dive roller coaster set to debut in 2026, in a dual reveal that took place at the park and at the annual International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo (IAAPA) in Orlando. The world’s first giga dive coaster was announced in late September in which the six world records it will shatter, once open, were shared. Now, with the vehicle uncovered and the track on display as it's being installed in the park, the visual story is ready to be told.

Imagined by Six Flags’ creative development team and brought to life by the Swiss roller coaster design company Bolliger & Mabillard, Tormenta combines state-of-the-art engineering with bold aesthetics, which together reflect the exhilarating running of the bulls theme throughout the entire attraction. Each of the three rows will span eight seats to thrust 24 riders on each thrilling journey. The ride will open with three cars that feature sinewy contours that invoke both the runners and the bulls and vibrant colors, each with their own inspiration drawn from the story of the famed Tormenta bull and its community.

Set within a reimagined Spanish village, Rancha do la Tormenta, the main attraction of the plaza is the 309-foot giga dive coaster. Once through the queue and train station, which will resemble a Spanish farm barn, riders will begin their encounter with Tormenta. Strapping in, the white chassis mimics the uniform of the runners, whereas the red in each harness represents the neck bandanas and waist sashes that have been tradition since 1931. The ride's 4,199 feet of track, which will be painted in a rich, earthy brown symbolizes the hide of the legendary bovine Tormenta while the ivory rails of each car that connect with the track are an embodiment of its horns. Lastly, the gray columns depict the streets the runners and bulls traverse.
“Tormenta Rampaging Run represents a new era of innovation and storytelling for our park,” said Mark Boyer, vice president and park manager for Six Flags Over Texas.  “The reveal of this train gives our guests a first look at the craftsmanship and immersive experience that will define a trip to Six Flags Over Texas when the ride opens next year.”

Tormenta will elevate riders to a height of 309 feet and, just like the buildup of anticipation waiting for the signal that the bulls have been set free, the train will release riders into a record-breaking 95-degree, beyond vertical drop complete with sharp turns and invigorating drops.

Once completed, Tormenta will change the city’s skyline, shattering multiple records, including:

• Tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster in the world
• Tallest vertical loop
• Highest Immelmann inversion
• Highest 95-degree beyond vertical drop

Construction continues on-site with track installation and a highly anticipated topping off milestone soon. Follow progress on Tormenta through exclusive updates, photos and video content on the attraction’s webpage and the park’s official social media channels. For more information about opening dates and upcoming events, visit sixflags.com.
