Twisted Colossus Construction Wrap-Up

It's finally here ... almost 9 months to the day since Colossus closed, it's had a baby, and it's amazing and glorious and all of the things that Six Flags Magic Mountain has needed for years. 

Colossus closed on August 16, 2014 and Twisted Colossus opens this Saturday May 23, 2014. 

Tomorrow we'll be at Media Day and then back at the park on Thursday and Saturday but in the meantime, let's take a look back at the last 9 months of construction.

September 1, 2014 - Just a couple of weeks after Colossus closed they were already hard at work tearing down much of the structure.

September 1, 2014 - According to the park, approximately 45% of the wood was replaced for Twisted Colossus.

September 14, 2014 - After a small fire on the lift hill there was more wood to be replaced.

September 22, 2014 - Twisted Colossus track was installed. We were one of the first sites to have pictures.

September 29, 2014 - A lone piece of blue track waits to be installed.

October 4, 2014 - More of the lift hill is gone, but many remnants of original Colossus are still present.

November 12, 2014 - The 2nd turnaround of the original Colossus started to be cut down a bit.

November 26, 2014 - Our first Twisted Colossus tour was held. We had a great look at the pre-lift elements.

December 11, 2014 - The first turn-around is gone. Interestingly, if you look at the current track for Twisted Colossus it's pretty much in the same spot as the original Colossus track. Just a bit twistier. =)

May 18, 2015 - Our last pre media-day visit and first rides. The ride does not disappoint.
Thanks for following alone over the last 9 months of construction. We've grown bigger than we ever thought possible over the last few months and that's due to all of your support.
