Inspired by the 2025 Oscar-winning original horror film, guests transport back in time to 1930s Mississippi Delta and visit Club Juke on its opening night, where they celebrate with twin brothers Smoke and Stack and other familiar characters from the film. Celebration turns to panic when a troupe of nefarious, red-eyed vampires crash the party and threaten to violently curse guests who must survive the night as the terror only relents once the sun rises.

    Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness*
Guests will take a terrifying trip through Ozzy Osbourne’s disturbing world of rock and roll as Halloween Horror Nights pays tribute to the pioneer heavy metal icon across both coasts. Jack and Oddfellow: Chaos & Control (original content haunted house)
Dr. Oddfellow guides guests through Jack the Clown’s twisted origin story until Jack interrupts – ultimately taking over and sparking a fierce battle between them. After realizing they are more powerful together, Jack and Oddfellow form an uneasy alliance…for the season…and now set out to wreak havoc amongst guests.

INVASION: Alien Abduction (original content haunted house)

H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular! (original content haunted house)
Fan-favorite creature feature host, Larry Kurtzberg (better known as H.R. Bloodengutz), returns in this all-new haunted house. After his descension into violent madness where he tortured his crew when his show was canceled (as featured in HHN 21), H.R. Bloodengutz has escaped from prison to return to WKNB Television Station for a final Halloween Special of gruesome proportions.

MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals (original content haunted house)
Guests will navigate a post-apocalyptic wasteland where almost all life is nearly extinct, causing humans to feast on each other for survival. As guests try to seek shelter in the ruins of an old zoo, they find they’re not alone when a tribe of predatory cannibals set out to make them their prey.

    Cybergoria (original content haunted house)

    Infernal Carnival of Nightmares
The ringmasters of horror, Jack and Dr. Oddfellow, invite guests to step right up and see what horrors hide beyond the gates at a sinister spectacle decades in the making.

    Downtown Clowntown
When the Infernal Carnival of Nightmares rolls into the streets of New York, a troupe of maniacal clowns take over the city and convert it into Downtown Clowntown in honor of Jack. As guests weave through each borough, they will encounter a variety of clowns of different kinds and origins, including the Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Art the Clown. They all share one common goal – fill their streets with laughter and screams.

    Sideshow of Decay
Within the Infernal Carnival lies a junkyard of discarded relics where Cindy Caine (daughter of legendary icon, The Caretaker), with the aid of Dr. Oddfellow, has opened a portal to resurrect decayed nightmares from the past and unleash them into our world. As guests witness these horrors emerge from the darkness, Cindy commands this grotesque spectacle, transforming the junkyard into a twisted sideshow that celebrates her long-awaited rise. I was very happy to have my dear friend Albert accompanying me Tuesday night because I could never get the pictures he gets.

So safe to say, the good pictures in this update are Albert's. The rest are mine. It'll be pretty easy to tell.

Please make sure you give Albert's Instagram page Hauntphotoblography a follow for all of the excellent Haunt Photo goodness. Remember, always give credit!
    Picture

As always, it's an honor to be included in these events. We'll never take it for granted. Thank you Knott's for having us out.

About 7:20 or so we found ourselves on the Calico Mine stage, ready to get revealed and stuff. In 20 minutes. Check out the highlights from the announcement ceremony below.

We've also got shorter videos of the two maze announcements that we shared on our reels.
Check out the slide show below featuring Albert's amazing pics from the announcement ceremony

A new game card is coming to scary farm!

After the announcement we found ourselves behind and on-stage at the Walter Knott Theater for the media reception. We got to check out all of the tasty treats and merchandise for this years event. And ran into some old friends.

I know there's been a lot of talk about the use of AI in promotional materials and merchandise. I wish we were better at identifying it.

    Is it AI or not?

This seemed to be a popular item at the Tribute Store during the event.

This years shirt featuring all of the mazes, shows and scare zones. AI or not, seems a bit busy for my taste if I'm being completely honest.

After dinner we made our way through the two lights-on maze tours, staring with Room 13. It's always fantastic to see the details of these mazes you can't see when you're being scared.

And finally it was off to Widows for the second Lights-On tour of the event. I don't know how this maze was creepier with the lights on than with the lights off. But it was.

More amazing pics from Albert. Make sure you give all of his socials a follow for amazing Haunt pictures throughout September and October.

And of course, we had to spend some time in the two scare zones that were open for the event.

As the park's premier fall event, Fright Fest transforms the park after dark with pulse-pounding rides, immersive haunted attractions, roaming monsters and electrifying live entertainment, creating a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience unlike anything else in the area.

Returning select nights from Sept. 19 through Nov. 1, Fright Fest will unleash five haunted mazes, seven scare zones and a lineup of fan-favorite and all-new entertainment experiences. From legendary horror franchises to original nightmares, this season promises more ways than ever to get scared.

    Haunted Mazes
Brave guests can test their courage inside five haunted mazes, where terrifying creatures, dark corridors and chilling surprises lurk around every corner. This year's lineup introduces two all-new haunted experiences, joining returning fan favorites to create Fright Fest's most intense collection of mazes yet.

    • NEW! Blair Witch: No Signal: Step into the legend of The Blair Witch Project and venture deep into the mysteries of the Black Hills Forest. In near-total darkness, you’ll navigate environments inspired by the world of the franchise, including winding trails, abandoned camps, eerie ritual sites, and the infamous Rustin Parr House as the forest itself seems to close in. Reality unravels within — experience Blair Witch: No Signal.
    • NEW! Nightmares: Deepest fears become reality in Nightmares, as you journey through a series of terrifying dreamscapes filled with twisted clowns, crawling spiders, disorienting illusions, deranged doctors, and scenes of brutal carnage. Every room brings a new terror and every step goes deeper into the unknown. The only way out is surviving the nightmare.
    • The Conjuring Universe: Based on New Line Cinema's iconic horror franchise: enter the Warrens' occult museum where cursed artifacts awaken ancient evil. Face Annabelle’s malevolent stare, flee the Nun’s unholy presence, and survive the Perron farmhouse's demonic forces. Investigate the horror at Six Flags Great America.
    • SAW: Legacy of Terror: Welcome to the ultimate trial of survival in SAW: LEGACY OF TERROR. Plunge into the depths of Jigsaw’s twisted mind as you traverse iconic scenes inspired by the SAW films. Think you can escape some of John Kramer’s most diabolical contraptions before time runs out?

Rounding out the lineup is The Estate at Wretched Meadows, delivering the immersive storytelling, eerie environments and terrifying encounters that have made it a longtime Fright Fest favorite.

    Necropolis Returns
Headlining this year's scare zone lineup is the long-awaited return of Necropolis, a fan-favorite scare zone making its first appearance since 2014. Revived exclusively as part of Six Flags Great America's 50th Anniversary season, the legendary city of the dead once again rises from the shadows, bringing undead inhabitants, eerie encounters and a wave of nostalgia for longtime Fright Fest fans. After more than a decade away, the resurrection of Necropolis stands as one of the most anticipated additions to this year's event.

Necropolis joins six additional scare zones to deliver nonstop scares throughout the night.

    Live Entertainment
When screams take a break, entertainment takes center stage. Returning favorites include “The Uprising: Nightly Call of the Dead,” “The Ringmaster's Cabaret” and “Love at First Fright,” continuing traditions that have become synonymous with Fright Fest.

This year also introduces two all-new productions, bringing fresh energy, music and storytelling to the event:

    • NEW! “Masquer-RAVE:” Witchie's story isn't over yet. After her dramatic demise in “Love at First Fright,” she returns to haunt the space between the living and the dead in “Masquer-RAVE.”
    • NEW! “The Velvet Quarter:” Guests can step through the hidden doors of “The Velvet Quarter” and discover a sophisticated acoustic escape tucked away from the madness of Fright Fest. This experience transforms modern pop, rock, and hip-hop hits into sultry jazz, smoky blues and timeless swing. It’s a hauntingly stylish nightcap unlike anything else in the park.

From high-energy productions and musical spectacles to haunting performances and fan-favorite traditions, Fright Fest's entertainment lineup delivers unforgettable moments after the sun goes down.

Guests can also experience many of the park's world-class rides and roller coasters under the cover of darkness, including the record-breaking Wrath of Rakshasa, towering Goliath and fan-favorite Raging Bull, adding an extra level of excitement and adrenaline to every Fright Fest visit.

Family-Friendly Fun Returns with Tricks and Treats
While Fright Fest brings the scares after dark, younger guests and families can experience the lighter side of Halloween during Tricks and Treats, a daytime celebration filled with festive décor, seasonal treats, family-friendly entertainment and interactive activities throughout the park.

Tricks and Treats runs Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 19 through Nov. 1. Details on the 2026 lineup, including fall activities, live entertainment and seasonal experiences, will be announced at a later date.

    Raise a Stein at Oktoberfest
Guests can also celebrate the flavors of fall during Oktoberfest, featuring seasonal food and beverage offerings, specialty brews and German-inspired favorites. Whether fueling up before a night of scares or enjoying a crisp autumn afternoon at the park, Oktoberfest serves up the perfect taste of the season.
