(Sept. 28, 2023) – SeaWorld San Diego is excited to share that in 2024 guests will step into a new and mesmerizing world of underwater wonders at the brand new “Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience exhibit”.  The first of its kind for SeaWorld parks, the Jellyfish Experience will be the newest immersive and interactive aquarium at the park.  Guests to the new exhibit will be greeted by a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes in three unique galleries as if diving into the heart of the ocean.  As a premier destination that combines education and fun through up-close animal encounters, marine-life themed rides and attractions, and exciting entertainment, the new Jellyfish Experience adds to SeaWorld’s already impressive lineup of animal habitats, presentations, and encounters. All 2024 Pass Members will receive a preview to the exhibit and be one of the first to view and walkthrough the multi-room aquarium before the exhibit opens to all guests in 2024.  2024 Passes are on sale now.

Each of the three galleries will feature a jelly species to discover including Moon Jellyfish, Pacific Sea Nettles, Upside-Down Jellyfish, and Comb Jellies.  Glowing with an ethereal light, the jellyfish dance gracefully through the water, their translucent bodies trailing behind them like living fireworks. Watch as they pulse and glide, showcasing their hypnotic movements that seem almost unworldly. 
But it’s not just about beauty. It’s about learning and science for guests of all ages in this fun up close aquarium experience. Through educational components and aquarist staff within the exhibit, guests will learn from experts what makes a jellyfish, the beauty and diversity of the translucent species, their behaviors and patterns, and how they have adapted to some of the most extreme environments on Earth.  Plus, guests will come away with a better understanding of what they can do to protect jellyfish and our oceans. 

Some of the features of this spectacular include:

• Habitats designed to support jellyfish with circular sections in the center that create a circular water flow and provide a more thriving environment.
• An 18-foot-tall cylinder, among the tallest jelly cylinders in the country.
• Gallery walls and ceiling covered with LED digital video panels that display virtual oceanic moments, ranging from calm waters to dynamic, energetic crescendos.
• A perfect photo-opp with a 10-foot-tall acrylic living arch of jellyfish for guests to walk through for views from multiple angles.

Guests can also upgrade their experience with a behind-the-scenes tour led by an aquarist and learn more about jellyfish propagation and have hands-on experience to touch the ocean’s translucent treasures.  
As an accredited zoo and aquarium by the American Zoological Association, The Jellyfish Experience will join SeaWorld’s other aquariums and exhibits throughout the park which allow guests to see a variety of aquatic life up-close including sea turtles, rays, sharks, octopus, eels, crabs, and hundreds of species of fish. At additional animal habitats throughout SeaWorld, guests can view and learn more about marine mammals such as belugas, southern sea otters, walruses, sea lions, harbor seals, orcas and dolphins.

SAN DIEGO, CA, (September 20, 2023) – Howl-O-Scream, SeaWorld San Diego’s separately ticketed nighttime Halloween event for mature audiences, with the most haunted houses, scares and screams in San Diego in one place, will return on September 29. The screamtastic event is full of never-before-seen haunted houses, scare zones, vile vignettes and live performances. Halloween fans can expect new sounds, lighting, special effects, more scare performers, and more surprises at every turn. Howl-O-Scream runs on select nights from September 29 to October 31.

New Haunts and Fearsome Houses and Scare Zones
The screams will never end when guests are running from each of the five new and improved haunted houses. The all-new immersive 3D Circus of the Damned is where fears will come to life in a chaotic cursed circus. Newly announced is fan-favorite, Simon’s Slaughterhouse, there’s no escaping Simon and his knife-wielding crew of butchers through his meat house. The deadly doctor is in and so are his medical experiments gone wrong in Nightmare Experiment, the evil Swamp Witch and her vengeful spirits at Death Water Bayou, plus mad scientists, and terrifying extraterrestrials who refuse to be contained at Area 64: Alien Outbreak.  
 
The scare zones will be a surprise scare-up on attendees as they unknowingly approach these themed locations scattered throughout the event. Inflicting more terror is Clown Gauntlet, a scare zone where guests will face their childhood nightmares as they run from merciless clowns with chainsaws in hand. Haunting the park pathways are creepy dolls and sinister stuffed animals at Deadly Toys, mystifying, undead evils rise at The Graveyard, powerful, alluring sirens at Sea of Souls, and disgruntled, deranged carnies at Carnival of Chaos.​

​Brand-New Bewitching Live Entertainment to Madden and Mesmerize
 
Guests will encounter all-new entertainment throughout the event, with a vile surprise hidden around each corner. The five all-new Vile Vignettes will spread dark magic, misfortune, and Halloween terror to unsuspecting guests.

• Misfortune – Want to know what the future has in store? Guests brave enough to step into this fortune teller’s tent can find out, but they might not like what they hear as she spins tales of woe and anguish.
• All Hallow’s Harvest – Beware the cornfields at Howl-O-Scream, evil lurks within! Guests can walk the path if they dare, but the scarecrows are waiting to take their revenge.
• Dark Magic – What could be more fitting than a sadistic magician within the Carnival of Chaos? Join the not so traditional magic show and explore Dark Magic all night long. If you dare.
• Call from Beyond – Guests will encounter a mad scientist conducting dangerous experiments. If they’re not careful, they might end up as his next test subject!
• Simon’s Meat Market – On the way to Simon’s Slaughterhouse, guests will find a crooked auctioneer wielding what’s left of Simon’s latest victims.

Guests can add two stage shows to their night that will madden and mesmerize those between scares.

• Opening Scaremony – This completely reimagined stage show opens the event with a frightening master of ceremonies summoning nightmarish creatures and preparing guests for their night of screams, scares, and terror.
• Call of the Siren – Don’t fall victim to the powerful allure of the sirens during this wickedly mesmerizing hip hop dance performance.

Howl-O-Scream 2023 is a separately ticketed night event for mature audiences only. ​VALLEJO, Calif. — September 19, 2023 — Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, The Thrill Capital of Northern California, is set to make hearts race and pulses pound with the return of Six Flags Fright Fest® Presented by SNICKERS®. The electrifying lineup of spine-chilling nighttime attractions features a new 3D haunted house, three new scare zones and the return of a fan-favorite show. These new scares join popular returning haunted attractions, scare zones, thrilling shows and supernatural transformations of park rides. Daytime activities for all ages include Kids Boo Fest, with Halloween fun for the little ghouls and ghosts, and Oktoberfest with an array of German fare and lively entertainment.  The fall festivities at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will be offered select days and nights through October 29.

• Midnight Mansion - Mourning the death of his beloved wife, tortured Professor Silas Grimmlee, decides to dabble in the dark arts to raise her back from the dead, but also calls forth a menagerie of macabre monstrosities from the beyond, which now lie in wait for unsuspecting visitors to Grimmlee Mansion;
  
• Sulfur City Society – Rumors have long swirled about the decrepit reformatory where those looking to visit their loved ones soon discover horrifying experiments, a path to hidden catacombs, and the demonic truth;
  
• Lost Souls - The mob of misfits that call themselves the Lost Souls have been camping in the woods to help hide the massive tanks of blood that keep them forever young and lethally beautiful;
  
• CarnEvil: Fresh Meat - A traveling, backwoods carnival is in desperate need of performers, fresh meat for their circus of horrors...and the dinner table. The only way not to end up on the menu is to prove you too can be a real “cut up.”; and
  
• Big Top Terror – Private auditions are being held for those willing to run away and join the circus. Applicants must be ready to take the big spotlight completely on their own.

 
Fright Fest walkthrough scare zones that leave guests nowhere to hide and screaming to get out unscathed include:

• NEW Murder Mill – Make your way through the forest and take a killer journey. Listen closely, and you may hear the echoing sound of distant chainsaws and cries for help;
• NEW Weeping Wharf – As you approach the water’s edge, the air grows colder and the moon's pale light casts an eerie glow upon forgotten souls who have emerged from the depths of the afterlife;
• NEW Corpse Crossing – The hallowed grounds have been overrun by undead creatures of the night so watch your step or become a permanent resident;
• Dead Man’s Party - Some of the corpses and creeps that have crawled out from the great beyond are throwing a party to die for. The only problem is that the living are crashing it; and
• Slasher Circus - The circus is in town, and blood-spattered grins and cackling laughter do little to hide that these clowns are killer cannibals. Do your best to evade the sliders and chainsaws, or else you’ll end up on the menu.
