Six Flags Brings Holiday Cheer with Winter Coat Drive Amidst Chilly and Wet Northern California Weather
New and Gently Used Coats to be Collected During Special Extended Park Operation January 2 Through January 8
VALLEJO, Calif. — December 29, 2022 — Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, The Thrill Capital of Northern California, today announced that they will be collecting new and gently used coats to support Nation’s Finest during special extended park operating days, featuring Holiday in the Park, January 2 through January 8.
Collected coats will be provided to Nation’s Finest, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support America’s military Veterans and their families with a comprehensive approach to housing, health, and employment.
“It’s easy to see and feel the present need to provide warmth and protection for those individuals out there that need it,” said Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Park General Manager Dameon Nelson. “This is our community, it’s where we work, it’s where we live and it is our privilege to support the efforts of organizations like Nation’s Finest any way that we can,” added Nelson.
Visitors to the park during the drive period of January 2 through January 8 will have the opportunity to experience the 15th annual Holiday in the Park event, which has been reimagined with more decorations, activities, and treats for guests to enjoy than ever before.

Emblematic park building overhauled into a modern venue, offering guests a variety of draft brews, specialty cocktails, a relaxing atmosphere and more
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay opened Springs Taproom, a new casual and laidback lounge that will serve guests a variety of classic cocktails, frozen beverages, small bites and more. The new venue, located in the Bird Gardens area of the park, features a calm pond and exuberant landscaping which will provide a relaxing setting for guests to sip different types of brews, handcrafted cocktails and enjoy delicious eats.
Springs Taproom replaces Garden Gate Café, an evolution of what once was the iconic Hospitality House, available to guests when Busch Gardens made its grand opening to the public in 1959. The new venue has been rethemed with a mix of modern decoration and classic photos, taking guests on a journey down memory lane. A total of 12 draft beer options, some available year-round and others rotating seasonally, as well as refreshing frozen beverages, such as frosé and frojito, will be served daily. Some of the food items available to pair with the beer and cocktails selection include a Mediterranean sampler, fresh fruit and other snack options.

Summer at Knott’s

Summertime at Knott's means fun all day and night. During the day, guests are invited take part in an immersive western adventure with Ghost Town Alive! When the sun goes down, Knott's Summer Nights begins with a variety of live music, classic summer eats and games for the whole family to enjoy.
And in the Summer, the major changes to Fiesta Village will be unveiled to reveal a completely revitalized area! This transformation includes enhanced theming, a historic coaster reimagined as MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress, and brand-new food locations, all celebrating Southern California's Hispanic influences.
Summer also means fun in the sun for Gold Season Passholders at Knott's Soak City Waterpark, open on select dates from May 13-September 10. During Twisted Christmas, you will be able to enjoy a marathon of 2 holiday-themed horror movies in our theater room. Next door in our Dark Marketplace, travel through our winter vortex to meet and greet with our twisted Santa, or you can shop for last minute gifts at one of our
vendor booths. All throughout the theater you can expect to interact with any number of our creepy Christmas characters including elves, Krampus and a special appearance by Grimsby Grimdyke, mystic from beyond.
