Busch Gardens Tampa Food and Wine Festival 2024 Preview

Last week we were invited to a preview of the Food and Wine Festival at Busch Gardens Tampa, and of course that meant that we sent Steve and Jen to enjoy the event. Fortunately it seems that the event is back to it's pre 2020 greatness and a great time was to be had all around.

Busch Gardens Tampa’s Food & Wine Festival is back in a big way!
Picture
This year they’ve adopted the country by country approach, complete with booths themed to each country’s flag and culture. Geography nerds unite!
Picture
Argentina came with a chicken empanada and beef chimichurri that were both delicious, as well as some South American wines. Salud!
Picture

Picture
South Africa had several wines, we went with the cab and Shiraz. Gesondheid!
Picture
Next was Chile, with a fantastic ceviche (Steve’s favorite) and grilled beef. ¡Muy bueno!
Picture
Picture
Canada had a beef gyro and “Timbits,” which were little donuts made with bits of real Tim! Tim tasted great, eh!
Picture

Picture
Australia brought out the big guns with a watermelon salad and Macadamia nut tart. Both were very good, but not a single escaped kangaroo was seen in the area.

For dessert, we got the lemon meringue tart from South Africa and dulce de leche cake from Chile. Sugar overload, but tasty!

All in all, Busch Gardens has really improved this event after a few lackluster years post-Covid. The theming and food have both been taken up a notch, and the full event will surely be a hit with the general public.

Check out the concert list and make it out this spring!

Busch Gardens Tampa Food And Wine Festival Preview

Picture
We spent the evening at Busch Gardens Tampa for a preview of the upcoming Food & Wine event, happening weekends March 10 - May 21!
Picture
Picture
First stop, some delicious Cabernet with the Vegetable Samosas from Trek Through Africa. Quite tasty with a little spiciness from the chutney.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Next up, the Buffalo Chicken and Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls. We paired these with the Twisted Lemonade and Serengeti Flyer Punch. I think I preferred the steak egg roll but both were good!
Picture

Picture
Next up was Morocco and Greece. We tried the Chicken Batbout, Stuffed Grape Leaves and Baklava. Chicken and Baklava were really good, but we weren’t fans of the grape leaves. Just not our thing but we tried something new.

Final food stop of the night was European Delights, where we had the Pierogies and Tiramisu. This was our favorite of the night! Wanted to try ravioli but unfortunately they were out. Next time!

Capped off an excellent evening with a four-person, front row night ride on Iron Gwazi. This ride at night is out of control fun! Thanks again Busch Gardens for having us. We’re looking forward to a great event and awesome concerts!
