 Waterpark Now Its Own Attraction in Six Flags Great America Complex GURNEE, Ill. — April 2, 2021 — For the first time ever, Hurricane Harbor Chicago will open on Saturday, May 29 as a separate attraction. The waterpark will have its own entry gate, giving guests the option to visit the waterpark independent of the Six Flags Great America theme park. Beginning today, guests may purchase single-day admission tickets to Hurricane Harbor Chicago and make reservations to visit at www.sixflags.com/hurricaneharborchicago. “We want to provide our guests with the best value and experience for their money,” said Hank Salemi, park president of Six Flags Great America, Hurricane Harbor Chicago, and Hurricane Harbor Rockford. “Our guests often tell us that they would like the convenience and flexibility to only enjoy Hurricane Harbor Chicago, one of the world’s best waterparks, during their visit and now there is that option with a single-day ticket.” The main entrance to the 20-acre waterpark will be near the Riptide Bay attractions, located adjacent to the main Six Flags Great America parking lot. Hurricane Harbor Chicago and Hurricane Harbor Rockford make up Illinois’s largest waterpark experience, offering guests over 45 slides and attractions. Adding to the excitement of the 2021 season is the highly anticipated debut of Tsunami Surge, the world’s tallest water coaster, at Hurricane Harbor Chicago. This-state-of-the-art water attraction will tower over 86 feet high and blast riders through lightning fast uphill curves and adrenaline-pumping drops using unique jet-propulsion technology.
