Ring in the Holidays at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom’s Annual Holiday in the Park

New Victorian Christmas Village Themed Area Added to Assortment of Offerings

​VALLEJO, Calif. — November 16, 2021 — Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the Thrill Capital of Northern California, today announced the return of the annual holiday event -- Holiday in the Park. From stunning, animated holiday light displays, to themed entertainment with delicious, seasonal food and pictures with Santa, there is plenty of merriment to be had when enjoying the Northern California tradition.  New to the park this year is the Victorian Christmas Village where guests will be transported back to the Victorian era with merry characters in beautiful costumes, handcrafted wares, delightful food, rousing live entertainment, and fanciful décor.
“Visiting Holiday in the Park has been an annual tradition for families all across Northern California for years,” said Park President Janine Durette. “It gives our team great joy to transform our park into beautiful, winter wonderlands where family and friends can enjoy the magic of the holiday season.”

Holiday in the Park will operate select days, November 26, 2021 through January 2, 2021. New and time-honored include:
  • World-class roller coasters, rides, and family attractions; 
  • Millions of dazzling LED lights;
  • Beautifully adorned Christmas trees;
  • Special meet-and-greets with holiday-inspired characters;
  • Fire pits where guests can make gooey s’mores while keeping warm and toasty; 
  • Joyous holiday-themed entertainment that features sea lions in A Very Merry Christmas and dolphins in A Dolphin Holiday and Wanted: Santa’s Helper;
  • Opportunities to meet and take a memorable photo with live penguins;
  • Dozens of holiday backdrops for Instagram-worthy photo opportunities;
  • Over 25 different artisans selling the finest handcrafted wares;
  • Delectable holiday foods including tri-tip sandwiches, meat pies, roasted nuts, cinnamon buns, gourmet cupcakes, and more;
  • A wide array of gift items including novelty apparel, ornaments, and soft plush toys. This year Special Olympics will be the beneficiary of our Holiday Friend plush toy campaign in support of the organization’s mission to create a better world by fostering inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. In partnership with Vitalant, the nation’s second largest community blood service provider, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will be hosting a blood drive on Christmas Eve, December 24, to provide much-needed donations and help bring awareness to the country’s critical blood shortages. Each donor will receive a complimentary ticket to visit the park during the 2022 season.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is looking for energetic team members who want to work where they play. The park is hiring for a number of rewarding positions in food service, ride operations, admissions, retail, warehousing, janitorial, maintenance, and security. Consistent hours and benefits available for some positions.
