Happy Summer Everybody! It's that time of year where we start to get some updates from our seasonal parks and as always we're excited to bring you an update from one of our favorites, Silverwood Park in Idaho. Lots of new stuff to show you this season including a new addition to the waterpark. Let's jump right in!  We'll start off there with a look at Eagle Hunt!  Eagle Hunt is located in Boulder Beach!  Very cool set up! As you're waiting to get into Boulder Beach you can scan to rent a locker!  Eagle Hunt is the first dueling water coaster in the west and the LONGEST dueling water coaster in the United States.  Hopefully at some point the park will post a POV of Eagle Hunt, would love to see it in action!  A look at the Boulder Beach wave pool.   Let's check out the dry side of the park!        Silverwood has one of the best railroads of any park.  This is the way!   Yes, there are Buffalo on the train route.    Hi Marvin!  Hmmm ...  This new sign has been added within the last week.  A new haunt is coming to Scarywood. Can't wait to hear what it is!  Some new merchandise from the park. We're big fans of park/ride specific merch around here.  We'll wrap this up with some random coaster pics. Because why not.

Last week Matt made his way out to Scarywood for the opening night of their 2021 event! We have lots of pictures to get to in this one so we'll get right to it! Written by Matthew Nelson  Scarywood Review: Of the mazes, as always, Blood Bayou is the best. Imagine Willoughby's mixed with Voodoo from Knott's Haunt. It's a big long maze with a lot of talent and a lot of scares. Planet Zombie is my second favorite. It's a zombie maze where you're supposed to get to a safety checkpoint without getting bit. Good long maze with some really nicely done outdoor sections. It feels like what the Walking Dead attraction should have been like. Occasionally claustrophobic, and feeling like you really need to get through. Pharaoh's Curse is cool - it definitely improved with its new location. Has one of the best horrific gags anywhere. The priests tear the heart out of a writhing screaming person in a Scarywood hoodie. Dr. Delirium's 3D Rockhouse is a fun, loud weird mashup of everything unlicensed. Bonus points for playing KMFDM music. Let's get to the pics!   A little something extra for Scarywood 
   The entrance area to the park  This is the best maze of the event- good long, loaded with cool stuff, and monsters galore.  Tilt A Whirl in the Rain  Scary Dolls. My second favorite scare zone- they do a great job standing in the dark- there's not a lot of light around other than the dollhouse facade.

 The ride WAS running for the event, until the rain came. The clowns seemed to like the rain. Clown Town is the biggest, most populated scare zone. I love it  It was still running in the rain.  Normally wouldn't be able to take this photo- because I'm standing in the gravel beside the ride's queue. So, while it sucks to not be able to ride this beauty until next year, I can see it while walking to and from the 3D maze.  This is a fun maze, with entertaining videos setting up the whole thing while you wait out front. There was a lot of excellent talent in here last night, and it's a good long maze with inside and outside sections.  I started with the stuff to the left- what would normally be the dry park, but the rain came and kinda changed that.  This is another part of the pathway you can't avoid. They were doing a good job of ganging up on people, too.  It was VERY dark by Tremors  Chucky was waiting for people to head out of Clowntown and in to the dark area he was lurking in. Pictures by Matthew Nelson Opening Day Pictures You gotta go under the highway to get to Silverwood. This is when any day at Silverwood REALLY begins.  Espresso and Pastry Bar. Good stuff, and they open earlier than anything else at the park. So if you get here early, to avoid a line at bag check, you can still pick up some caffeine and breakfast.  While waiting at the rope drop inside the park, Engine 7 pulled into the station.  To open Stunt Pilot, there was a flyover by a biplane.  This way to Stunt Pilot          The line wasn't outside of the building for too long- it just keeps moving.  While the ride does have 10 single seats per train, this helps when say, there's a group of 7, they can add 3 from the single rider line to have a full train.   Because of how long the train is, the sensations are quite different from front to back. Look how far down the drop row 1 is, while row 10 is still flat up top.  A stunt plane restored and hung upside down over the queue line. Brilliant bit of theming.   It's really cool to watch- and because of how the line goes right under most of the ride, you get to watch it a lot.   Very smooth, very fun ride. A lot of people got off and said "Let's get back in line" right away.   Entrance and Exit Through The Gift Shop  The opening day line in the afternoon  Panic Plunge. If you sit on this side, you get a great overview of Stunt Pilot for a moment.  It was a beautiful day for a ride opening  From over by the log flume.  Corkscrew Pizza. If you didn't get a picture of the corkscrew, did you even go to Silverwood?  From the side. The first drop is 87 degrees.   The guy in the back row looks like he might be rethinking his decision to ride.     Riders Seem To Really Enjoy This Ride. I did. Rode 4 times opening day, each time seemed better. It was really hauling late afternoon.  Hairtime!   Favorite photo of the day. This shot pretty much shows the gamut of rider reactions.  The Barn  You "Fly" through three air race rings as you ride  Not the shot I REALLY wanted. But you can see Tremors and Stunt Pilot trains in one frame here.  Tremors New Track  Old and New Side by Side. Tremors absolutely flies through the bowl area now.  Aftershock. Well, it didn't have such a good day.  Only shot I got of it in action today. It went down right before we were going to board. Didn't see it open the rest of the day. Oh well, we'll be back.
