This year the LA Zoo "Zoo Lights" is back for another year of holiday fun. If you've been to the event the last couple of years you know what this event is, just a great 90 minutes to 2 hours of Holiday Fun. This year they've added some more live music and of course the amazing Reindeer. Written by Gregg Condon The LightScapes Water Show is back this year and is a lot of fun Overall Zoo Lights is another amazing event that keeps getting better each year. We would like to see more changed next year though as most of the props have been around for 3 years now. But overall just an incredibly fun night as always. A couple of weeks ago we headed out to the LA Zoo for the kick off of this year's "Roaring Nights" which is an evening event featuring food trucks, live music, DJ's and of course, the LA Zoo. The event also features training talks and much more.
We had an amazing time and we totally recommend the event for a fun date night.

Welcome to the Roaring Nights at the LA Zoo
So much to see it's going to be hard to fit it all in, but we'll certainly try.
And of course, we get to see things like the Alligator Feeding
And of course, we had to check out all of the food trucks
We couldn't find the elephants at first (more on them later)
90's music and food trucks!!
We found the elephants, and they were totally rocking out to the music.
Tazmanian Devils are like "leave me alone, can't you see we're trying to sleep here".
The animal feedings were very popular, like this one for the Kimono Dragon
Being that it was night time some of the animals were actually more active than they are during the day, like the Koala's.
Why did it have to be snakes?
And of course, you can get your very own Roaring Nights shirt (which were priced very reasonably)
We had such a great time at Roaring Nights we highly recommend it to anybody who's looking for a fun night out. The event is 18 and over so keep that in mind. So go get a babysitter and have a fun date night.
We are thinking of going back to one of the nights in September (80's night) but are waiting to see what Halloween schedules look like that time of year. If we end up going we'll set up an event and maybe have a Park Journey night at Roaring Nights. We'll keep you updated. Here are the rest of the event nights for this summer. You can find more information here.
