Renée headed out to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this week and sent us some great pictures.
This truly is one of the best special events at Walt Disney World and is home to the single greatest parade other than the Main Street Electrical Parade. It's just a fun night of rides, candy, characters, food ... did we mention the Candy?
The park is all decked out for Halloween
Lots and lots of pumpkins
Boo to You and you and you and you ... Happy Halloween
Mickey, Minnie, Donald and I'm assuming Daisy
The Pirates float
Always a crowd favorite
New this year was Wreck It Ralph and Vanelope
The Villains close out the parade
Monsters Inc Dance Party in Tomorrowland
Villains Mix and Mingle in front of Cinderella's Castle
The Evil Queen
A gaggle of not-so-good guys
No trip to MNSSHP is complete without Hallowishes. Which was a bit smokey due to the rain
Ooooooh .... Ahhhhhh ...
It really is a pretty awesome fireworks show
And lastly, Renée's awesome costume for the event. =)
Thanks again Renée for sending us pictures of this great event.
Our good friend Nico sent us some more pictures over the weekend, this time from the Disneyland Resort. The annual HalloweenTime event kicked off over the weekend with old favorites like Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy.
Over at Disney California Adventure, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit finally has a character and he looks pretty awesome.
Even though temperatures were up in the 90's and 100's in Southern California over the weekend the Disneyland Resort is decked out in Fall colors.
And no surprise, the Annual Passholder crowds descended on Disneyland to see it
The Dapper Dan's decked out in their Halloween Duds
The Dan's always put on a great show, be sure to check them out next time you are at the park
Jack and Sally have once again taken over the Haunted Mansion
I really do love Haunted Mansion Holiday but I can't help but think that the original version of the Haunted Mansion would be better for Halloween and HMH begin in November.
How do you make one of the most popular rides in the park even more popular? With ghosts of course.
Oswald The Lucky Rabbit
Over in DCA, Oswald finally has a character
I'm not generally a person who goes crazy for characters, but Oswald is pretty awesome
Get your picture with Oswald ... disinterested teenager in the background is optional.
That's going to wrap it up for this Disneyland update. We'll be back at the park on Friday so we'll have a larger update sometime early next week.
Renée was back at the Disneyland Half Marathon this year for her 9th consecutive year keeping her legacy status intact. This is no small task. So before we get on to her report we want to say Congrats!!
And thanks for the following pictures from the weekend. We appreciate it.
Before the race, packet pick-up is at the Disneyland hotel. A pretty popular photo spot.
The well earned "Legacy runner" is displayed on the bib
Race morning, wouldn't it be nice to just start here. =) (but what fun would that be)
Thousands of runners prepare to start running 13.1 miles through Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and the streets of Anaheim.
Pre race festivities!!
Back stage at Disney California Adventure
It's a Wonder World of Running through DCA!!!
Running through Radiator Springs. Hope you don't get a flat. =)
I'm pretty sure Renée got the same picture when we ran the Disneyland Half together in 2012. (Gregg)
And just like magic, we are now inside Disneyland
This is seriously the coolest picture ever. Totally worth the price of running Disney. (Gregg)
Running through the Castle is always a highlight
Only at Disney will you see long lines to meet characters in the middle of a race
Hanging out with Angelina Jolie
Moving backstage at Disneyland, it's always nice to see the horses out.
Sorry for ruining the magic for those who haven't seen backstage at Disneyland before. =)
After leaving Disneyland it's time to run on the "lovely" streets of Anaheim. You never know what characters you'll encounter out there.
A recent addition over the last few years in what was once a pretty boring stretch of the race. Awesome to see all the cars.
Even a Lightning McQueen Corvette. Ignore that "other" Hockey Team's truck in the background. =)
This view alone is worth $195
Heading into Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Why isn't it called Los Angeles Angel Stadium of Anaheim?
It really is a beautiful stadium
Aren't you a little short to be a Stormtrooper?
Heading backstage at DCA. Pretty sure this crossing is the cause of 99% of Anaheim traffic on race morning.
After the race a well deserved refreshment at Disney California Adventure. Wear your medal proudly!!!
Congrats again Renée. Truly a great accomplishment. And thanks again for sharing them with us!!
