This past week Renee made her way across the Atlantic Ocean to spend a bit of time at Disneyland Paris. As luck would have it, Phantom Manor had just reopened. Let's check out her report!! Written by Renée Girard Bonjour from Phantom Manor! The Hyperspace Mountain overlay on any Space Mountain is never not fun! Really fits in well on the DLP version. PhotoPass at Disneyland Paris is nearly non existent, with the exception of character photo ops. It’s weird not seeing a photographer every two feet along the center of Main Street! I find their lack of food options disturbing at DLP. But at least some “themed” snacks seem to be appearing! Also, restaurant hours are bizarre. Like, the ice cream shop on Main Street closed at 7pm with a 10:30pm park close. That would be unheard of at WDW! Phantom Manor Mickey is everything I ever wanted. I forgot how unnecessary DLP Indy is. Dark ride instead, please! Ah, that’s more like it. Best Big Thunder Mountain in the world? That’s a yes from me! Also for anyone totally confused, I’m at DLP and Gregg is in Orlando. I might have to say that DLP Pirates is my favorite version too. But I haven’t been to Shanghai yet. Loving the newly refurbished Phantom Manor. It looks absolutely amazing. What blows my mind though is that it was a walk on almost all day, 3 days after a 1.5 year closure. You would see a nonstop full queue at Disneyland in the States if they ever did that! I only want my castles with dragons underneath them from now on, please and thank you. I’ll try to say nice things about the Walt Disney Studios Paris park today. The Ratatouille ride and surrounding themed shop and restaurant are terrific and by far the best things in the Studios park. The Toy Story Playland is an odd area. I’m not a fan of the types of rides they have there, so we just did a brief walk through. Some of the Marvel themed food is pretty cute. I enjoyed the Groot macaron. I thought I would enjoy the nostalgia aspect of going through Catastrophe Canyon on the tram tour. That was fine, I guess, but the rest of the “tour” was easily one of the worst Disney attractions. I’m a fan of Rock N Roller Coaster at DHS. It’s short and sweet, but a good “big” starter coaster for kids. At Studios Paris, it’s the same ride layout but just ruined by lazy theming and strobe lights. Armageddon all boarded up next to Tower. If they stick with the Marvel theme in that area of the park, I think that’s a step in the right direction. So the Marvel Super Heroes United, in the former Cinemagique Theatre, was really fun. I also really loved the Mickey and the Magician stage show at Studios Paris. Super cute and well done! I love all things Disney but the Studios Paris park has very few redeeming qualities. I hope in the coming years they give it some love and transform things the way they did with DCA. Related Videos
