 Here at Park Journey we always enjoy showing off all aspects of the Theme Park Vacation experience, even if 95% of us will never actually be able to enjoy it. And that's exactly what we have today with a great preview of the almost completed Copper Creek DVC Expansion at Wilderness Lodge. Written by Renée Girard  Yesterday we stopped by Disney's Wilderness Lodge to preview the new DVC villas and cabins opening this month.   The Copper Creek Villas and Cabins are the newest addition to the DVC Family, making 3/4 of the rooms at Wilderness Lodge DVC    The deluxe studio is the size of a normal Disney resort room and of course fits in with the Wilderness Lodge themeing   If you want a bit more space and a fancy tub, you can have that in the one or two bedroom DVC Villas    And now we move on to the three bedroom villa, which I can already tell will be stunning just by the entrance   The Copper Creek DVC 3 bedroom villa is gorgeous! DIsney never disappointes when it comes to their resorts and this is no exception     If you're bored with the awesomeness in the villa you can always relax with these views of Bay Lake and the woods   Or you can just stare in amazement at this massive TV and entertainment system  The bathrooms, oh my...you can definitely bathe, shower and all that in style at these DVC Villas     I mean, who doesn't want to watch TV in your bathroom mirror as you shower and get ready for a day at Disney!?!?!  Not only are there villas but now luxury cabins as part of the DVC Expansion at Wilderness Lodge     The Copper Creek cabins remind me a lot of the bungalows at the Plynesian resort. Very spacious but has a cozy feel to it.     You can eat indoors at a large rustic table or outdoors at a picnic table in a screened-in patio   You also have your own personal hot tub spa on the patio, to unwind and enjoy nature right in the backyard   Again with the amazing bathroom with a TV in the mirror  Love the little touches Disney adds to all their resorts, to make things like this not just a normal walkway   Another new addition to Wilderness Lodge is Geyser Point Bar and Grill. It's an upscale outdoor lounge with table and quick service.     At the bar their featured cocktails can only be found here. Looks like a decent beer selection and some nice snacks too. 
 I tried the Cascadia Sangria Cocktail, since it's a hot summer day and it sounded refreshing. I loved it! Very unique and tasty.  Right next to the bar at Geyser Point is a lovely little seating area overlooking Bay Lake  Disney's Wilderness Lodge has always been a beautiful resort and the new Copper Creek DVC is a perfect addition. Friday April 10  Live tweeting from WDW's Downtown Disney! More pieces coming into place for the "high line" on the West Side.  The former United World Soccer store moved to a truck to make room for Super Hero Headquarters.  New shirts at D Street feature some cool, kinda trippy artwork.  DTD West Side Starbucks has an "evening" menu with a wine bar.  Disney Springs is coming together nicely, and some old favorites still remain open with surrounding walls.  The Boathouse restaurant is nearing completion, with the Amphicars ready to go.  Amphicars are being tested, and the bar and outdoor seating at The Boathouse will offer some great views.  Erin McKenna's bakery has some delicious baked goods. They are all vegan, but give it a chance, they're yummy!  This new bridge is a welcome shortcut to Rainforest Cafe.  Bonus points go to Ghiradelli for giving out large samples of milk chocolate mocha!  Want to design your own smart phone case with your favorite Disney character? You can at D Tech on Demand!  The Sign Shop in the Co-Op Marketplace is Disney nerd heaven!  Wonderground Gallery has a unique take on artwork of classic Disney attractions.  Check out Centerpiece to have a complete Disney themed kitchen!  Wall of Disney Tsum Tsums at Once Upon a Toy.  While not brand new, the West Side DTD Starbucks is still one of the most original in design that I've encountered.  Disney food truck park has some different foods to sample from the various theme parks.  The waterfront along Disney Springs should be beautiful once it is complete.  A taste of Epcot at the World Showcase of Flavors truck.  One of the last remaining buildings from DTD's Pleasure Island days.  Do you want to eat a snowman? You can at Disney's Candy Cauldron. Tuesday April 14  The Boathouse restaurant opened to the public this week. Tonight we took a look at Downtown Disney's new addition.  We didn't get to dine there yet, there was still tons to see. But if it's steak you want, this is the place to go.
 Still in the testing phase but already a crowd pleaser are the one-of-a-kind Amphicars.  There are 8 Amphicars that start and finish on a launch with a turntable next to the Boathouse entrance.  Once it is ready, guests can take a 20 minute guided adventure around Lake Buena Vista in an Amphicars.  Behind the bar, along the lake is a collection of unique boats, most owned by Boathouse creator Steven Schussler.   It's worth taking a stroll along the docks just to see all of the boats  You might even find a hidden Mickey.  Also on the docks is a seating area, which I'm sure will be a popular place to grab a drink and watch the sunset.  Above the docks is an outdoor bar, again with great views of the lake and Downtown Disney.  If it's too hot outside, there's another full service bar inside to cool off and watch a game on one of the TVs.  We loved the design of the dining room, some of which included tables within a boat.   We weren't expecting there to be so much detail in everything both inside and outside The Boathouse.  Hopefully next time we will actually dine there. It looks like it should be a hit for steak and seafood lovers!  Don't forget to check out the gift shop on your way out.  Overall, we were extremely impressed with The Boathouse and can't wait to go back to actually eat there!  Renée sent us some great pictures of the new Polynesian Villas and Bungalows that will be opening at the Polynesian at WDW very soon. The new DVC property looks simply amazing. Enjoy!! Here are some photos from the new DVC area of the Polynesian Resort at WDW. It is still under construction but phase one is scheduled to open April 1. The porch or balcony of the new DVC rooms overlook the bungalows.  We viewed deluxe studio rooms in the Moorea wing. They feature one queen size bed, one queen size sleeper sofa and one pull down bunk-size bed. Each Bungalow has flat panel TV, private porch or balcony, wet bar, small fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker   ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  Bathroom is separated by two areas - one with shower and sink and one with toilet and tub/shower combo.  Over the water bora bora bungalows feature one king size bed, one queen size bed, one queen size sleeper, and two pull down bunk size beds.  Master bathroom has in-mirror TV, whirlpool tub and walk in shower with rain shower head.   Full kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and laundry area with stacked washer and dryer.  Private deck of each Bungalow features a plunge pool, lounge furniture and hanging chairs overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom.       Second bathroom is two sections - tub/shower and vanity, and toilet and vanity.   Once completed, there will be 360 deluxe studio villas and 20 Bora Bora Bungalows.  |
